I have used DAW software as Ableton Live, FL Studio, and Linux Multi-Media Studio for several years to create original, favorably reviewed electronic music concepts. While a sizable sample of studio time has been either independent (releases on Pandora, Soundcloud, Spotify) or for multimedia, as E-Learning/Articulate360, the initial impulse was to contribute acoustic backgrounds and creative inspiration for live bands. I have released several singles and albums on Pandora, Soundcloud, Spotify, ITunes, Amazon, Youtube, and related media outlets. Additionally, my songs have been trending on multiple playlists from magazines and music agents. This includes a reader submission reward for an exemplary genre demo. I have garnered over 100K listeners and followers on various channels. Essential for a decent command of Ableton Live is to learn both session and arrangement views. We study systematically the task and the art of embedding vocals, instruments, midi, effects, automation, and ...

I am not sure how I did. The process of using voice is ok but it seems like using this process may take some time to get use to. I still have not received the review information and it's difficult to practice pronouncing the words. Babbel seems to work better with the practice audios etc

Hi! My name is Leila. I played the lead role (Kim) in the New York Broadway production of the musical, Miss Saigon. I have been teaching Voice for the past 20 years. I teach technique, articulation and performance. I am open to teach all styles of music. I teach all ages although I believe 10 years old is a good age to start (depending on the maturity of the young student). I have taught all ages from 7 all the way up to 65.

About Leila

Leila played the lead role in the Broadway production of the musical Miss Saigon. "Leila acts and sings compellingly." - John Simon, New York Magazine Leila teaches technique, performance and audition preparation. She also works with various styles of music including Broadway and Pop. Le

I feel very lucky to have worked with Leila. She is kind, compassionate, non-judgemental, creative and very experienced. She will support you and she will challenge you...she is on the journey with you all the way. I highly recommend her!

A few years ago I was fortunate enough to take a vocal workshop in Paris, France where Leila was one of the instructors. Her guidance during that class is what prompted me to take private lessons with her.

Studying with Leila has been an amazing experience – she has a rare combination of coaching for vocal technique/mechanics as well as for performance and interpretation. Since studying with her the past year, there have been noticeable results – I have gone from being a newbie singer to a confident performer who now sings in the Paris open mic scene.

With Leila moving from Paris to Los Angeles I truly miss the in-person weekly lessons…the good news is that via SKYPE you can still take lessons with her to continue your growth as a vocalist. Leila is truly a gifted teacher and coach – I have learned so much from studying with her. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
Amy
I've first taken lessons from Leila back in 2008 or 2009. She recently moved back to CA from Paris and now I am excited to be continuing lessons with her. Her techniques have made my voice stronger. She gives excellent demonstrations, hand motions, and analogies that explain each technique in a compressible manner. Leila is versatile in teaching a wide range of genres, from classical to R&B/ pop to Broadway. She is very personable, kind and very knowledgeable. It is an honor to have a Miss Saigon Broadway alum as my teacher!

I have been playing drums for over 30 years. I have toured with bands, recorded albums and played with many different musicians. I have also learned to play other instruments such as guitar and piano. And I have found great amazement and wonder while continuously learning on this musical journey. I can give a wide perspective, not just from the drum throne. Drumming can be a very special part of your life. It does not have to be a career, but can be an amazing way to express yourself and learn about the world through many different rhythms and patterns. Music can be very formal, but there's also a lot of room for everyone to learn about improvisation and self expression.

About Robert

I have been playing drums in some form or another for over 30 years. I currently play with a cover band that plays mostly rock from spanning from the 50's to today's music. I have recorded a few albums with bands that I've played with over the years and even toured a little along the way. I have

With an emphasis on jazz and improvisation, my goal is to provide insight along your musical path. Here some of the topics we may explore:

Trumpet technique - We'll build custom exercises, some focusing on your strengths, others challenging the edge of your abilities. Rather than looking at practice as "warming up", we'll shift our mindset to "trumpet calisthenics" (inspired by Laurie Frink).

Jazz - We'll define jazz chords and learn how to play the notes in (and around!) them. We'll find melodies to flow from one chord to the next. We'll also discuss forms and listen to rich recordings of the jazz masters.

Free Playing - This is when we can let go of the analytic mind and simply make sound. We can direct our attention to non harmonic concepts like emotions, shapes, textures, and images. Sometimes I'll put a drone on during this segment or we'll play call and response ideas.

Tom is an amazing teacher, so gentle, patient and kind with our shy 12 year old. Tom was great in engaging him and we feel very good about their relationship already after the first lesson. He seems to know right away how to tailor the lesson based on where our son is at. He has already made improvements in his first class. We look forward to future lessons with Tom.

Advantages & Disadvantages of a Fretless Guitar

Fretless instruments are not uncommon in the world of music, however, a fretless guitar is an instrument that isn't often mentioned. The fretless guitar lacks the frets that one would traditionally see on a guitar. This means that there is no interruption in the string from the bridge, up the neck of the guitar. The lack of frets create an entirely unique, warm, but less amplified sound that works across all types of music. In order to truly understand what a fretless guitar is, it is first …

For many beginners, learning to control the bow so it doesn't bounce against the strings is the first step. The dreaded  "bouncing bow" is a common issue, especially if you're trying to play softly, or if you're nervous. Here are some possible reasons for a …
