Beginner level instruction of technique, reading music, and basic theory knowledge is often an essential requirement of very advanced strings instructors. If you have aspirations to become an excellent cello player let me help you grasp the basics and fulfill your 1 year of lesson experience for many great programs and upper echelon instructors.
About Chris
I was born into a musical family and have studied classical piano since I was 4 years old! I am very well versed in music theory and proper technique, with an emphasis on avoiding player's injuries, as well as a great knowledge of classical Pieces for any skill level.
Alas!
As a young teenager I grew rebellious and learned how to play the electric guitar and have since sought teachers outside my family to learn modern styles and 5 other instruments!! I have also worked toward a music degree and have made music the center of my life.
Classical music is not everyone's passion but a good practice routine, attitude and environment is always a good thing to ha
*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are held with a fun and relaxed attitude. Learning music should always be enjoyable and a good attitude and love for music is cultured and encouraged.
Lessons are structured just like a practice session should be. We will begin with a warm-up exercise designed to acquaint you with the proper technique to meet your personal musical goals. the next activities are highly personalized, but is usually something like reading music or a music theory game. These activities are things that are good for you but may not be your favorite part of learning music. They will, however, go a long way toward your better understanding of how your favorite music is structured.
Examples could be learning about 12 bar blues, common strum patterns (for guitar), scales, sight-reading, or music analysis.
We will spend the rest of class learning and practicing an activity of your choice. This is usually a song but can be anything you wish to improve upon. this is usually a long-term goal of yours. *I've always wanted to learn......*
By structuring our lessons the same as how you will practice, and by keeping good notes, it will be easy for you to take on practice at home and achieve all of your musical goals!
*** Travel Equipment ***

I have seen many student go on to join orchestras, bands, broadway shows or simply continued their education to a university or college. Being able to read music profeciently has given me the opportunity to teach off many method books but like to use Alfred Method, Mel Bay and Frederick Noad Method books. I teach many styles ranging from classical, jazz & blues, rock, contemporary and pop. I do stress and recommend all my students to learn how to read music and usually by our second or third lesson they will playing simple songs. I am here to help you make music!
About OMAR
*** Lesson Details ***
As a teacher I require all students to set time aside to practice. For without it, it is only wasting your time, your money and my time. I don't expect a total dedication to it but I do want to see some effort put into it. A little practice can go a long way and the more you do it, the faster you will progress and the more you will enjoy it. We will first start off with what you want out of music and the level you are at and go from there. Student can bring their own music either thru tabs, music sheet or just by ear but one thing I do expect is a student to learn how to read music notation. We will go thru the regular warm up exercises, material practiced during the week and any new music for the following week. Correct techniques in how to hold your instrument or voice procedures will be addressed. Music theory will also be part of the lesson as well as ear training. At the end of either 3 to 6 months you will have learned the basics of music and will be playing songs for you or someone else to enjoy. I will make it a total relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere but some dedication has to put on the students' part.
*** Studio Equipment ***
Dedicated music room, guitar both classical and electric, piano, cello, upright bass and electric bass guitar
*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide my own instrument. I can also provide music stand, small amplifier if needed and music material for the first few lesson until student provides for him/her self. Student must have own instrument.
*** Specialties ***
My way of teaching would have to be that they must learn how to read music while learning how to play an instrument.

I have been teaching Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced cello students for the last 15 years. My studio is located in the Orchard Hills neighborhood of north Irvine
My lesson format encourages quick learning of concepts that include physical movements of cello playing, music theory, history, and general musicianship.
The length of the lesson is dependent on the level of repertoire. Beginners take 30 min. lessons while more advanced students need 45 min. or 60 min. lessons.
Each lesson is recorded so the student has a reference of what the music sounds like. It speeds up the learning time because the student knows what to do and what not to do. Watching the video is like having a lesson everyday between live lessons.

I am a member of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA).

I am an emotive cellist with two decades experience. As a member of the Park Quartet (the quartet in residence at Park Church) I recently performed at the 100th anniversary of McGolrick Park. I love sharing classical music with all levels of students. Lessons with me are calm, meditative experiences where we use Zen techniques to enter into the heart of music.

4 Fundamental Tap Dance Steps for Beginners
Good dancers can make even the most complicated, strenuous techniques look effortless and fluid. If you've ever watched an experienced dancer perform a tap routine, you probably watched in disbelief as their feet turned into a blur of movement that seemed to move independently from the rest of their body. Sometimes the sound effects are even more impressive; when done well, tap dance is a musical art form that creates its own rhythm. Do you want to train your own feet to create this unique mixt … Read More
