Get Smarter and Have a Blast Taking Violin Lessons in Sacramento!
By Kimberly B. - Sacramento Violin Teacher
Since there was sound, music has been a thought-provoking mystery present in every culture and every age, and its effects on brain development are widely acknowledged. Thomas Jefferson is said to have played the violin in order to figure out the wording he wanted to use in the Declaration of Independence, and Einstein himself said that the reason he was so smart is because he played the violin.
There are many reasons to take violin lessons in Sacramento. Playing the violin has been proven to make the brain “fire quicker,” which leads to faster reading and writing comprehension. Music is all about understanding and analyzing patterns, which is also true in math; so it makes sense that high school students who study music have both higher grade point averages and SAT scores than those who don't. Non-musical abilities such as literacy, verbal memory, Visio spatial processing, and IQ have been proven to be higher in children who were taking Suzuki violin lessons.
Additionally, violin exercises both sides of the brain: studying technique uses the left brain, and the creative process uses the right brain. Researcher Oliver Sacks discovered music can animate people with Parkinson's disease who cannot otherwise move, give words to stroke patients who cannot otherwise speak, and calm and organize people whose memories are ravaged by Alzheimer's or amnesia.
So whether you're young or old, you too can benefit from taking violin lessons in Sacramento. Take charge of your future and choose to enrich your life or a loved one's life with the gift of violin lessons!
