I can offer introductory lessons to the basics of hand percussion: Congas, Cajon, Djembe.

Percussion is my primary instrument. I have taught many students on bell kits and a practice pad, but if you have more percussion instruments that is cool. Even auxiliary percussion instruments? Percussion is so much more than drums. If you are wanting a comprehensive beginners guide to playing percussion. I can help you with posture, sticking, and giving you the fundamentals needed to have an awesome start to your percussion playing. These skills transfer to all percussion instruments, including drum set. I would recommend finding a percussion teacher who plays percussion primarily.

In our percussion class we will cover music theory, counting rhythms and discover a variety of percussion. The majority of this lesson will revolve around the Cajon, Shaker, Tamborine, and using brushes and snare technique and will explore african drums as well! Bring your hacky sack and get ready for the drum circle. This class is perfect for groups and couples. In lessons we'll train technique and theory right alongside the ear with the objective of being able to play from your authentic self. In addition I studied with the Jazz legend and esteemed educator Stefon Harris (currently leading the Manhatttan School of Music). We will use his innovative theory and ear training techniques to learn the most basic mechanics of music.

I teach drums to anyone desiring to learn eDrums and analog drums. I take on students who show a keen interest and dedication to drums and percussion both. You will learn as it pertains to songwriting and locking in with the bass player. I teach the basics. The goal is to have fun.
