Alan is a great teacher. His lessons offer a real mix of technical practice and information on deaf culture which I was looking for. He is flexible with time and always willing to 'chat' a few minutes longer than the lessons require. I would recommend him to anyone interested in learning (or improving their prior knowledge of) ASL online.

Alan is always well prepared and very thorough throughout lessons. I’m an adult student with a lot of experience learning languages. Alan challenges me without overwhelming me, slows me down so I’m sure to learn it instead of rushing ahead.

I have a BA in services to the Deaf with a minor in Interpreting. I currently teach ASL for the local technology center. In my classes I teach not only the signs but also add culture. I will share personal stories and things that happened when I was learning, that if someone had told me different I would not have offended people. I will teach you by association and explain why some signs are what they are. If you are looking for a fun , and informative class sign up for mine today.
I am an instructor at the local Technology Center. I have been signing since 1990. I started out in a night college class as a junior in high school. My dad told me I needed to get a head start on my college life. I asked him what was I going to take...He opened up the newspaper and there it was...The headlines read...New class to offered, Sign Language. I enrolled the next day and have been signing ever since. I have to say it was difficult at first because I speak english, and all the words like and, but, or, was etc were NOT in the signing vocabulary.
Sign Language is not something you will learn overnight. You also have to practice or you will loose what you have gained. I still to this day practice. I practice while I am driving and well needless to say people stare at me....Oh well at least I know I am retaining my pas
sion. I stay involved with the Deaf community as much as I possibly can. I do have many Deaf friends that well keep me on my toes at times. They like to facetime me and show me a new sign they either made up or someone has showed them and they do not understand why it means what it does. I hope you will give me the opportunity to teach you ASL. It is my passion and I love to see people have an interest. Thank you and hope to see you soon

Alyssa is the best! I've been with her for a year now and she makes learning ASL a blast. She is extremely relatable, easygoing, and helpful. Class sessions are never boring because she's very engaging and treats everyone like genuine friends. My ASL skills have improved a lot in a short span of time and I actively look forward to our weekly meetings!
I've been signing for almost 19 years. I have a Deaf son who is now an adult. Initially, I taught him and myself sign using library books. A few years ago, I went to college to study ASL, as well as Deaf culture. I actually know 2 different forms of sign language. Signing with me is FUN because it is my passion and is close to my heart as it's how I communicate with my son, his wife, and quite a few friends. Opening one's mind to ASL is akin to learning to SEE SOUND!
I've always liked sign language, after learning the alphabet as a child. I never really had a reason to learn it until I found out that my son was deaf. Initially I was concerned for him & any struggles he may go through because of it. That honestly dissipated quickly for me. I could now communicate with my kid! WooHoo! His very first signs were "cookie" & "crackers" because I had to bribe him to sign with me. His Deafness & our learning sign became our adventure! From brightly colored, tie-dyed hearing aid molds, to me teaching the neighborhood kids how to sign so that they could easily play together. Then discrimination from his school district set in. Momma bear came out.
I found an attorney willing to take the case pro bono, I got my son a Deaf advocate through a local community service, and called our local newspaper & shared the
story with them. Through that newspaper article, more parents came forward & reached out to me for help. That was the moment I realized my purpose in life; be it teaching sign, advocacy, sharing the rich culture that comes with it all.....This was & is my purpose. On an ironic little side note, I actually used to be semi-professional singer/ songwriter. Now, from time to time, I do enjoy Interpreting songs into ASL. I'm passionate, fun, funny but I can be pretty bad with the corny jokes. If you & I ever work together with sign Language, just be prepared for a wonderful adventure, but still within the safe confines of modern society.
"Kat has proven to be such a valuable and wonderful teacher. From the beginning of our process of starting ASL lessons for my daughter, she was communicati
ve, thorough and 100% professional. Once our lessons began, she proved to be an incredible instructor (my daughter loves her lessons) as well as conscientious in our lesson schedule. Further, even when we need to change our lesson due to a scheduling conflict, she is very understanding, which I have appreciated. I can not recommend Kat enough!!!"

"I can't express just how awesome Tony is as an ASL instructor. He is patient, very knowledgable and fun to learn with. He has a strict "no voice" policy,
but if you work hard for him, you will benefit greatly. Highly recommended instructor."
"Honestly, the best. Don't listen to anyone who gives this man under three stars: he is responsive, dedicated, profoundly knowledgeable about the language
and culture, and is always looking to give more to his students. Tony is the best investment you could ever make for your ASl education."
"I have been friends with Kat for about ten years. In that time I have seen how creative she is even though I don't know sign language The way she has
been able to explain ideas to me is very clear. She is very good at bringing things to life in a visual way to make learning something more fun. She is a passionate person that would make learning a memorable experience."
"Tony is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. He’s not like most teachers who just give you the answers and expect you to understand why is it that answ
er. He will deeply explains things with you and he will give you critiques. He also teaches in a variety of ways not like most teachers that they just do the same teaching stile all the time. He is just really a great teacher."
"Victoria is one of the best ASL instructors you can find anywhere online. You can tell she loves ASL is extremely dedicated to her lesson plan and making
sure every student accomplishes their individual goals. Everyone will have a great experience working with her."
