I teach saxophone primarily through the tried and true Rubank method. Students will learn how to properly care for the instrument, how to read music, music theory, instrument technique, practice techniques, ear training (how to play by ear), reed selection, and both classical and jazz repertoire. I also employ custom exercises specifically for saxophone to help my students progress the fastest.

About Kyle

Hello potential students! I have a B.A. in instrumental music education and composition. I have taught private lessons for over 12 years. Teaching private music lessons is my primary job, so I have much experience and wisdom compared to teachers who teach "on the side." Students of all ages stay wi

Kyle is a great piano teacher! He is very patient with my 12-year old son. Just yesterday he referred to him as “fun Kyle” because he teaches him small songs on the side that he can show friends and family or are for upcoming holidays. He’s always punctual and respectful of our family and home. I’m grateful to have found him!

Kyle is patient and a great instructor.

As a teacher I am very patient with students and enjoy helping them reach their own musical goals. I emphasize knowing the basics and encourage students to study music theory and basic reading of standard notation. I always ask my students to bring in songs they want to learn as a way to motivate them to practice more.

*** Lesson Details ***
GUITAR: I expect my students to practice at least 5 days a week for at least a 1/2 hour per day. I use the Suzuki method for young students ages 8 to10. We continue learning basic folk songs by ear and then start reading standard notation and basic theory within 6 to 8 months along with classical guitar duets. For older students I use the Hal Leonard guitar method. After 3 months of lessons students can expect to know the basic open position chords and strum patterns to some basic songs as well as some famous guitar riffs and also be able to read some basic melodies in standard notation. After 6 months students will be able to play a 12 bar ...

About Robert

I started playing guitar at age 11, taking lessons at the local music studio in Hackensack, NJ. I became heavily influenced by The Beatles after hearing their music and as a teenager played in local rock groups, having some success being in the bands Jona's Ark and The Yorkshire Pudding, opening fo

Robert is a wonderful balance between push and patient support--an important balance in learning practice and process. He's musically knowledgeable and has great resources for guitar techniques and theory. It's thrilling for me to settle into the pleasure of guitar, for me, tenor guitar.

I've been taking lessons from Rob for 2 years now. He is a great teacher, classically trained, but very knowledgeable in all genres. I have learned a great deal and being taught the correct way. He pushes you to do better each and every week.
I would definitely recommend Rob for Guitar instructions

I teach jazz and improve piano. It is excellent for songwriters, or people who are new to the idea of music theory. For our first lesson (1 hour) you choose a song you want to play and we will work on that. Most students begin playing all major and minor triads in the first lesson, that is A LOT of songs. My classes are built around the student and not the other way around.

I really enjoyed my class with Anthony. I am a beginner on the saxophone. Being a beginner, I was a bit intimidated before the class. However, all intimidation was gone once Anthony logged on and began to teach. He was very patient and his lessons are engaging. He came to the lesson prepared (not all teachers do). He is definitely knowledgable and a pro in the subject area and his teaching style is very effective. I came away from the lesson feeling like I really learned a lot. Thanks to Anthony, I feel like I will definitely be able to master my instrument. I highly recommend him.

Great first lesson. I was nervous about my son taking lessons online, but right off the bat, the nerves went away. Anthony was excellent. Even in a virtual world, he paid attention to detail and noticed that my child's trombone slide became loose. He gave my son a tip on how to keep that from happening. While being downstairs I heard a song that my son has previously played, and in just 45 mins, my son sounded better than before. Looking forward to our next lesson and seeing how my son progresses .

Mr. Anthony is a really good brass instructor. He has been helping me improve with my lip slurs and has helped my 12 major scales. He also makes learning the trumpet fun. Highly recommend

I have been playing viola for 17 years and teaching violin, viola, and cello for 8 years. I graduated from the University of West Florida in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance - Viola. My viola instructor was Dr. Leonid Yanovskiy, current and former concert master of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, and many others.
While earning my degree, I also learned how to play violin and cello and am able to teach them up to an intermediate level.
My teaching ideology is that ANYONE can learn an instrument at any age. I have taught students as young as 4 and as old as 65! Many adult students of mine have expressed difficulty and even shame in trying to find a teacher for them who would take them on, simply because they were starting as an adult.
We don't have to train for the symphony (unless you want to!); your goals are my goals and I will help you reach them!

"I have had the pleasure of being Meghan’s student for the past five months and cannot say enough glowing sentiments about my experience working with her. I am a classically trained singer with my degree in vocal performance and had never tried online lessons before. I came to Meghan with hopes to learn technique in contemporary and musical theatre styles and, my gosh, does she know her stuff! I am continually in awe of her musical knowledge and technical versatility in using the voice in a healthy and natural way. Meghan is so kind and professional in lessons; I feel comfortable trying new and vulnerable things with my voice that I hadn’t had the environment to do so before. I have had so much growth in my singing, artistically and skillfully since I began lessons with Meghan. She is extremely accommodating and personable with communication and scheduling. I can not recommend her enough!!"

Comparing Piano Teaching Methods | Bastien Piano Basics, Suzuki, & More

As you search for local piano teachers, you might notice some teachers listing specific teaching methods on their TakeLessons profile. Here, St. Augustine, FL piano teacher Heather L. explains what each really means...   Over the length of its history, American piano pedagogy has changed dramatically. In its earliest days, when families and communities braved the broad frontier of our continent, music was written on animal hides and skins. Only families who were wealthy enough to …
