Our son thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and he made a point to ask questions when he wasn't clear on instruction. I could tell this music composition was very complex (for his age) and Doug patiently worked through the questions and made really helpful recommendations.

"I can't say enough good things about Robert. He has instructed my 10 year old son for a year. Robert has kept my son engaged with his instrument, and music in general, and we have seen a steady improvement in his playing. He has been kind and gentle at times, yet firm when needed. An all around excellent teacher."

"David taught my daughter when she first decided to play the trombone in middle school band. It takes a special person to work with a moderately motivated, quiet 12 year old girl. He was patient, providing her with plenty of skills to achieve 1st chair without pushing too hard, or the wrong way. However, without his guidance, she would never have attempted to try out for mid-state. He urged her to play music she liked, but also made sure she was exposed to jazz, improv and other styles. He accommodated our ever changing schedule, and probably hid frustration well when she forgot her instrument or didn't practice. We couldn't have asked for a better teacher!"
