TEACHING APPROACH:
I am very patient and methodical when it comes to teaching. I make the sessions fun and interesting. I explain concepts in ways that are easy to understand. My teaching approach often focuses on developing self confidence and motivation, and overcoming barriers to learning. I concentrate on viewing the subject matter from the student's point of view, and I teach using that as a guide.
I believe that with the right guidance, any student can achieve success in any subject. First and foremost, I care about my students. Their success is what makes me successful. I treat all students with respect.
TESTIMONIALS:
"My son's math scores were very low due to illness and missed school. We hired tutors in the past but it always ended with a lot of frustration and tears. When Sol started working with my son it was different from the very first session. Instead of tears and frustration I saw my son transformed to a happy confident teen that now enjoys math. It takes time, doesn't happen overnight. The difference in my child is priceless. Sol has a way about him that children respond to. As a parent I highly recommend Sol." ~ Ariel
“Sol is a wonderful Math tutor who really helped my daughter grasp Trigonometry and Pre-Calculus in a short time, which helped her improve her grade significantly! My daughter began the first semester of this school year (last Fall) confused, frustrated and hating her class. Within a few short months with Sol's help she is now feeling confident and able to understand the complexities of this Math class and navigates her way through the lessons and homework with ease and confidence! I can't thank Sol enough for his ability to teach and simplify a subject that gives so many kids nightmares! Thank you, Sol!!!” ~Marina
"Our daughter started working with Sol in the fall. She went from a 2 to a 5 on the Calculus BC AP test. Sol was very kind and patient. He was always punctual, and flexible about accommodating our schedule. Most importantly though, he was very creative and intuitive in helping our daughter. He analyzed the problems she was having and tailored the sessions to address her weaknesses. He did not come in with a set approach that he uses with every student. He was able to communicate well with our daughter and continued to adjust his help to address her changing needs. Sol seems to listen better than some tutors. He did a great job and we recommend him very highly." ~ Damon
"My daughter has been having trouble in math since second grade. I've been taking her to after-school classes, group tutoring and tutor programs but none of them really made much impact. By ninth grade, she was convinced she couldn't keep up with her classmates and (understandably) had an aversion to even trying. Thankfully, we found Sol, and she started working with him one-on-one, one to two hours a week. It's been a huge relief to see her go from so confused to having a good understanding of what she's doing. Sol has a way of just keeping a kid on track without pushing too hard, or wasting any time. He is always patient and just gets to work. He explains things clearly and provides study problems when necessary. Through working with Sol and practicing the specific types of problems that were the most difficult for her, my daughter is finally comfortable with math, and can keep up with her grade level. I recommend Sol very highly!" ~Abby
"Sol is patient, listens, is heart-felt, and he has addressed my needs (as I have some learning challenges) and he has demonstrated a willingness to find ways to present the information tailored to my strengths." ~ Jeannie
"Hi Sol!
Just wanted to tell you that I got an A on the final in math, as well as an overall A in the class! Thank you so much for everything, I wouldn't have been able to accomplish this without you!!" ~Shishi
"Please know that I really cherished our sessions--you're a great teacher and I enjoyed your company a lot. Hoping our paths cross again." ~Matthew
"Thank you, Sol,
For your thoroughness, and for your focus and gentleness. I'm so glad we found you." ~Abby
"Hey Sol,
Just wanted to let you know that I finished this semester with an A in the class! Thanks for all the help. I definitely wouldn't have been able to do it without you. I plan to see you again this fall." ~Alonzo
"Exciting news - my daughter got 100% on her math test last week! This is amazing. Thank you so much for being such a wonderful teacher. All of her hard work with your help is paying off big time. She really enjoys working with you. We are lucky to have met you." ~ Nikki
“Sol!! Great news! I got into USC!!!
This is so amazing, this wouldn’t have been possible without you! Fight on!✌🏼❤️💛” ~Alonzo

Dr. Cliff believes that, although many professors and teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, many students and children do not learn well in traditional institutions. Many students and children don't respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a student's or child's strengths and natural abilities need to be the foundation of learning. Dr. Cliff often warns against a "cookie cutter" approach to educating students, teenagers and children. You or your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. Therefore, individual one-on-one tutoring or help is the key approach to each student who has any challenges difficulties in a given subject.
In today’s environment and economic challenges, with shorter budgets for the education, larger classes sizes and pressure of performing well in all kind of standard tests, I often see many students lacking true knowledge and skills in a given subject, since they cannot get individualized attention during the class session. That’s where a tutor comes into the picture, not only uncover major “holes” in students’ knowledge set but also teach students how to study, how to learn and through proper guidance “fill” those knowledge and skills holes.

SohCahToa!
I took trigonometry integrated with my Algebra II and Precalculus classes, my 10th and 11th grade years. I took to Trig naturally and held consistently high marks in my classes. In college, I continued my math education, completing several semesters of Calculus and advanced differential coursework. Starting then and ever since, I have enjoyed tutoring others in math and still consider it my favorite subject material, both for tutoring and in general! :)
I have nearly 10 years experience tutoring math, for students in high school courses and university courses. Whether you just want to get through your course with a "good" grade so you can leave math behind for good (if math is just soooo not your thing) or you want to excel, I can work with you to achieve your goals!
About Erin
My assistance doesn't stop just because the lesson is over. I make myself available to students (via email) for as-needed homework and study-related questions.
I have nearly 10 years experience working as an educator.
I am honored to work with students throughout the year, for long-term results, but am also happy to assist with short-term needs such as midterm/final exam preparation.

From finding the sign of a trigonometric function in the quadrants of the Cartesian Coordinate Plane, to computing the angle of depression from the top of a lighthouse to the base of Lady Liberty, trigonometry has so many profound applications throughout a gamut of disciplines. Although it is very practical in our world, the theories that describe it are often a nightmare for high-school students. I am here to mitigate this 'Nightmare' into a very pleasant dream, by establishing a reference point in geometry and algebra from which to get a better angle of attack, which will result in complete comprehension in all of its major concepts. My students' grades in trigonometry experienced drastic changes after I dissected its visceral aspects, and scrutinized its every detail until I could effectively explain it to my students with very little rigor. Trigonometry has has tapped us out on several occasions, now it's time for you and I to defeat it by 'Tackling Trig'.

I've been teaching trigonometry for twenty years and my students have gone from no knowlegde at all to grasp the basic. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to understand the function of sine, cosine and tangent and as time goes on you'll be able to solve more complex problem about any type of triangle. I
specialize in oblique triangle trigonometry, typically I use any book on trigonometry and have the following tools available for your
lessons:Internet, cd's,calculator, and videos, . I love working with
students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

CloseI would love to strengthen ALL math and skill levels of your high schooler! I am currently tutoring a number of high schoolers and have seen a huge boost in their confidence and abilities and would love to work with yours. In addition to reinforcing the fundamentals, and dissecting advanced material so it is more easily understood, I plan to initially is to examine their thought process, and then deconstruct their approach so it becomes more systematic and methodical.
I had a near perfect SAT math score (780 when it was scored out of 800) and also attended UPenn. But most importantly I can get him/her to raise her math score! My general strategy is to identify the type of question (Alg, Trig, Geometry etc) s/he struggles with and to examine hish/er thought process tackling these questions. I have also counseled students and parents on college admissions process since I was a counselor for UPenn undergrads for graduate school admissions.
I excelled in math and often ...

My experience with trigonometry started when I was in high school. I loved trigonometry and I began to help my classmates. In college, I helped students individually and in groups with their trigonometry courses. After college, I began tutoring online and there is one student that I remember well. He was taking a trigonometry class at his high school and he was studying for tests and his final. We worked for hours at a time and he learned the concepts that he needed to pass. When it was time for the final, we spent time going over the more important concepts and I did have to extend the time to sufficiently cover them. His grade on the final was a 98 and he passed the class.
About Jamarius
While tutoring at ASU, I have modified my tutoring style to provide better service. What happens is that during the first few sessions, I get to know each person and some things about the course that they are taking such as the syllabus content, the type of grade the person wants in the course, the number of points each assignment is worth, and the date of the next major test. I then try to hold tutoring sessions in accordance w
Usually, I tutor by appointment and each session usually lasts for about 1 hour. In order to reschedule or cancel an appointment, I request a 24-hour notice. I am willing to meet in a public place or online.
I also make videos that cover math concepts in order to make it a little easier for students to get the information that they need to be successful. If you would like for me to make a video, please let me know!
