Dr. Cliff believes that, although many professors and teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, many students and children do not learn well in traditional institutions. Many students and children don't respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a student's or child's strengths and natural abilities need to be the foundation of learning. Dr. Cliff often warns against a "cookie cutter" approach to educating students, teenagers and children. You or your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. Therefore, individual one-on-one tutoring or help is the key approach to each student who has any challenges difficulties in a given subject.

In today’s environment and economic challenges, with shorter budgets for the education, larger classes sizes and pressure of performing well in all kind of standard tests, I often see many students lacking true knowledge and skills in a given subject, since they cannot get individualized attention during the class session. That’s where a tutor comes into the picture, not only uncover major “holes” in students’ knowledge set but also teach students how to study, how to learn and through proper guidance “fill” those knowledge and skills holes.

I had such a good experience with Jason. He is very friendly, efficient and patient, which is essential when you learn JavaScript! We even went way over what I initially wanted to learn; he is very experienced and has impressive knowledge in front and back-end development. I have been trying to learn JavaScript by myself for a while but always ended up abandoning. I am confident that I will achieve my goals with the help of Jason. I strongly recommend learning with him! It will also be a good time!

I have over 15 years of university teaching experience in computer programming. My strongest programming language is Java. My teaching experience includes both introductory and advanced Java courses taught multiple times. I have mastered the basic concepts, such as if-else, loops, and arrays, and I am also familiar with more advanced concepts, such as string methods, inheritance, and GUIs. I will teach you the concepts of Java programming as well as walk through coding examples with you. I can also provide guidance for writing and debugging programs. Boost your programming confidence and get your programming assignments completed by scheduling a one-on-one lesson with me!

About Kristy
I hold a Ph.D in Computer Science and MS degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics. As a university professor and lecturer, I have taught several courses in computer science, computer programming, web development, event-driven programming, data structures, algorithms, and discrete mathematics at the university level for more than 15 years. My experience also includes working as a graduate teaching assistant in both Computer Science and Mathematics. I continue to apply my experience and skills in online tutoring environments.

My web development courses have involved basic web design (HTML, CSS), client-side web programming (JavaScript), and server-side web programming (PHP, SQL). Programming languages I have taught include Java, C++, Visual Basic, and AppInventor. Java is the programming language with which I have the most experience.
I continue to learn new topics, programming languages, and web technologies to widen the array of subjects I am able to teach. I enjoy writing a program or designing a webpage and then watching it come to life.

My teaching methods involve detailed step-by-step explanations, working through examples, and live coding and problem solving. I am also skilled in tracking down errors in student programs, as well as suggesting ways to improve coding style and organization. The teaching settings in which I work best are one-on-one interactions with students and online environments.

I live in Hickory, NC and I have enjoyed regularly visiting the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee. I am eager to work with students online or in-person to facilitate their learning and to encourage them to do their best. Contact me for more information and to schedule a lesson!

I teach basic computer programming focused in object oriented programming as well as procedural programming. For any student new to computer science/programming this is exactly where you want to start, as this application of programming is essential in all software. Java itself is especially a great language to start with for new programmers b/c it is class base and its implementation will inherently strengthen your ability to read and write code; this will later be of great use when transitioning to other languages. What my lessons will do for you is give you everything I know in a concise manner that took me over a year to gain.

About Corey
Hi my name is Corey, I'm currently a full-time student in the Bay Area. I'm pursuing a degree in Computer Science and I'm a huge nerd when it comes to math and other subjects of science. I have a strong passion for helping other students just like myself excel in their academic goals!

I began tutoring once I got back in school. At first, it started off as a little side gig I didn't I think much of; for me, it was a fun act of kindness that also gave me a chance to better understand material I already knew. It was after I got positive feedback from students when I realized tutoring is something I really enjoy and started taking far more seriously.

As a tutor the most effective approach I found is to first make sure my students have a firm grasp on the first principles involved and expand from there by taking a deeper dive into the
abstract of the concept at hand. I always teach in general notation along with a visual basis as this greatly helps my students better understand the concepts they're learning. From here I transition into individual and situational cases giving my student a chance to show me how well they are understanding the lesson.

The goal I set for myself as a tutor is to be sure that my students understand every topic covered on the same level that I understand it myself. So far in my approach this has shown to be the best method in achieving this goal. Most of the students I've worked with were on the verge of failing their classes and in fact these are the student I like to focus on b/c it gives me the opportunity to show that my approach to learning works, with everyone of my students finishing out their semester nothing short of a B.

If you're interested in taking one of my lessons and think my approach to learning is something that will work for you, please contact me and let's get that A this semester!

Corey has been the best tutor I've learned from! I started taking lessons with him about half way through a semester that I was taking trig. At this time I had a D in the class and was completely lost during lectures, just after two lessons with him my understanding in trig sky rocketed, I was able to move my grade from a D to a B! There's no way I could've done this without his help!

About David M.

Java is one of the most used programming languages in the world, it goes from our pockets in the mobile devices to cloud computing and robotics.

I can teach you from the most essential level to advanced concepts, helping you with an assignment or a project.

If you don't have any idea and you want to start from the scratch and you don't want to loose time you are in the right place.

About David
Hi! My name is David M. and I'm studying a degree in Computer Science. I'm in the last year so I hope that next year I will graduate.

All the assignments that I had to do in the previous years have showed me that programming isn't an ability for only a few people. If you have the correct attitude, motivation and see how it can change your life and the life of other people, you will learn easily all the keys to be a successful programmer.

In my classes I pretend to give this knowledge for my students and I believe that the world could be efficient, sustainably and better if we know how to control technology and use them with goodness, instead of letting technology control us.

I have advanced knowledge in C, C++, Java and Python that I have been learning for years so I can teach you from the basics to an expertise level.

Also, I
learned in deep Java while I was developing an app in Android, so I can help you if you want to know about making apps with Android Studio and more.

In addition, I have deep understanding in less known languages that implement programming paradigms that are very useful for solving certain type of problems:
• Haskell (functional programming)
• Prolog, CLIPS (declarative programming and SAT)

Finally, I know about efficient algorithm techniques (greedy, dynamic programming, flow networks); some AI techniques like local and heuristic search and compiler concepts (ANTLR, grammars).

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any doubt or you want to know if I can help you with other topic.

See you soon!! :)
