My son loves his drum lessons. Being eight, he naturally has an excess amount of energy and a tendency to chat but Joe has a way of engaging him and keeps him learning. Very positive and supportive as well.

Really great vocal teacher. He's very patient to his students. He goes on all the topics about singing. He's really good at helping his students prepare for a song. He doesn't waste time on any unnecessary practice. He teaches his students how to practice at home. I learned a lot of singing terms from him as well. Overall, I think he's a great vocal coach.

I have taken lessons with Ronald since I was 6, I am now 23. In my 17 years of taking lessons I have learned to play piano, sing and am proficient in music theory. In the more recent years I have even had the opportunity to teach music through Ronald. Throughout the years, I have experienced and witnessed the patience and kindness Ronald consistently shows his students. He encourages his students to become better and shares in their enthusiasm due to their accomplishments. Ronald genuinely cares about his students and is dedicated to making sure his students improve. I fully recommend Ronald for students who have parents who want to be involved in the learning process and especially for young children who are just starting out. Ronald works well with families, includes parents every step of the way and is very patient with young students helping them learn in an open and encouraging environment.

About Tyler
Hi, I'm Tyler! Born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico, I am the son of a band director. That being said, I have literally been involved in music since I was an infant! I played trombone, bass trombone, and bass guitar all the way through high school, and went to New Mexico State University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music, and then moved to Los Angeles, California, where I received my Master's Degree at California Institute of the Arts, where I also learned to play the other brass instruments, as well as composition and arranging.

Throughout my career, I've been able to do some great things with music. I have been able to travel Europe and work with one of the world's finest brass instrument manufacturers, Michael Rath, I have toured Colombia with my University's Wind Ensemble, I've recorded at Capitol Records in Hollywo
od, and have written and premiered numerous works for orchestra and rock ensemble, trombone choirs, and even a duet for quarter tone trumpets!

I have an affinity for modern and avant garde music, but am well-versed in all genres and musical styles! I also like to play in and record rock and roll bands, I've amassed a quite a few years of recording experience as well. From gypsy bands to thrash metal groups, I've recorded a wide array of music.

I also taught in the classroom from grades k-12 for a few years before following my true passion of teaching privately. I love to reach you at your own level and work to grow with you from there.

My goal is simple: I simply want you to come to love music as much as I do, if not more! I strive to give you the tools to become a successful musician in your own right, and I work to keep my lessons fun and engaging.

I feel like I learned a lot in an hour and he really helped me find an anchor point that I can go back to if I am stuck on a note. I realized that he went over every proven method that I learned throughout my experiences from elementary school to highschool and then added on to them by explaining how these methods help. He even showed me methods usually taught to college musicians.

The reason I always believed in private lessons is because no matter how few or how many you take, the learning process gets expedited immensely.

I definitely would recommend this teacher for learning a brass instrument.

About Jake
Hey there! My name is Jake, and I'm a lifetime musician. I began playing guitar and taking lessons 19 years ago (at age 8), and writing songs at 5!... my grandma recalls asking me to play "number 5" on the piano, and I'd do as I was asked, right from memory. Guitar, songwriting, and singing have long been my deepest passions, and having the opportunity to help others explore their own creative abilities has always made me feel whole. My style as an artist is especially in line with the Jason Mrazs, Colbie Cailats, and Ed Sheerans of the world, while as a writer I lean towards the styles of Scott Harris and Geoff Warburton (Shawn Mendes). Looking forward to working with creatives and musicians of all types!

About Jeremy
I've been composing and arranging music professionally for over 20 years. As Staff Arranger for the US Air Force Bands program, I have crafted selections ranging from classical/symphonic compositions to pop/rock/country arrangements, jazz & big band selections, and chamber music. My music has been performed by military worldwide, as well as university & high school/middle school bands, drum corps, professional symphony orchestras, and I spent a number of years creating brass ensemble "showstoppers" for the annual artist faculty concert at the National Trumpet Competition. Many of my original works are published, either through LudwigMasters Publications or Bandworks Publications.

Some notable performances of my music include the LA Philharmonic's 4th of July series at the Hollywood Bowl, performances at the Midwest Band & Orchestra Cl
inic, and music for the televised funeral service of President Ronald Reagan. I have also worked extensively as a conductor and have conducted groups ranging from beginning bands to professional orchestras.

I needed help knowing how to arrange a full band work for my Instrumentation Class project. I offered to pay him to do it for me but he wouldn't do that (haha). But he did sit with me and show me how to do it myself and I was happy I learned something. It wasn't great but if I had the desire to be an arranger then I would definitely study more with Jeremy.

Jeremy did a great job teaching me how to write an arrangement for a jazz band. I hadn't ever done anything like that and had no clue how to write rhythm parts. He gave me all the help I needed to know how to write chord symbols and notation for a rhythm section - lead sheets for the piano and guitar players, a bass part, and drum set parts. They all said the parts looked great. Thanks Jeremy!

Without Jeremy, I never would've gotten my Master's Degree. As I was preparing for my comprehensive exams in music performance, I had five pieces ranging from Medieval all the way through 20th century that had to be studied and analyzed for the music theory section of my exam. Jeremy was able to help me (and my entire study group) by teaching us in a knowledgeable, yet approachable way. He has a great deal of patience and a very kind demeanor. I wish I had encountered a teacher like him while in my undergrad music studies. He simplified so many of the concepts and ideas of music theory which really helped me to understand the analysis process and gave me full confidence when taking my comprehensive exams. He never made me feel stupid when asking questions and even when he had to explain the same concept over and over (which that happened often) he never lost his patience. He is so incredibly knowledgeable as a musician and such a delightfully kind person.

About Marlo
I am a recent college graduate from UC Santa Cruz, where I received my Bachelor's in Music, specifically jazz drumming. I currently gig around Santa Cruz and the Bay Area with a couple bands, playing mainly funk, jazz, R&B, soul, hip-hop, and rock music. I also have a background playing in drumline (as part of a marching band) if this is something a student is interested in learning more about as well. I like to try to only teach about 4-5 students at a time so that I am able to really develop unique lesson plans for each individual student, including putting in work outside of lesson time to develop the best lesson plan possible.

I like to make sure my students develop strong fundamentals in reading music, technique, transcribing, groove/feeling, and creativity/improvisation. However, the amount of focus we give to each of these cate
gories is catered to the student's personal drumming goals. I also find it very important to always include something in each lesson that excites the student and is just pure fun (and ideally also contributes to learning fundamentals in some way :) ). I believe this can often set goals and show future possibilities on the drum kit for students as well.

I have experience teaching students of all ages, from 5 years old to adults, ranging from zero experience to intermediate drummers already gigging with bands. I have played drumset for about 13 years now, studying with various professional drummers and musicians. I also have about 9 years experience playing piano, which allows me to help students with reading notes/chord charts if that's something they are interested in as well.

I've been working with Marlo for about six months now, and she is hands down the best instructor I've ever had.

Marlo pays close attention to technique and has a spot on sense of rhythm. She is incredibly focused and is able to correct small errors while also keeping the lessons fun and free flowing.

She diversifies her lessons with a mix of exercises for building technique, understanding a diverse range of genres and building up listening skills. While studying with her in just a few months, I've learned how to drum roll, properly flam, comp and play a number of grooves with accuracy and confidence.

I was super lucky to find this drum instructor and will keep working with her for as long as she is available. Worth 100 stars.
