I am so happy to have this opportunity to review Rodrigo Rodríguez. I have learned so much with him over the several years that I have been studying with him! He has totally transformed my guitar playing and has helped me to achieve my specific goals which are: To learn to play rhythmically with my right hand, to learn the fretboard better so that I can play more advanced songs, and to learn the repertoire of Spanish language music. He is so knowledgeable and talented! I have learned styles and songs from him from many different countries - Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Cuba, Colombia, and Mexico. In addition to all of that, he is a first rate human being who I feel fortunate to know! So, do yourself a favor and take lessons from him. He is a great teacher!

Rodrigo is a patient teacher who is a great musician. I have only had one lesson with him, but believe I will make good progress in learning the cajun accordion.

My name is Zachary H. I am an LA-based jazz pianist, composer, and teacher. I have been playing piano for over 16 years and specialize in classical, jazz, and pop. I am currently working as a church accompanist at a variety of churches in the LA area. In addition to piano performance, I am a skilled composer who has written for a variety of films/TV shows, including the Netflix/DreamWorks original show "Harvey Street Kids" and the DHX Media Web Series "Subway Surfers: The Animated Series."

I owe most of my accomplishments to the many teachers that have helped me along the way. I have learned so much from their combined 100+ years of expertise, and I aim to apply those same principals to every student of mine, no matter their level of ability. Be it in classical, jazz, rock, or pop, there is always more to be learned. I help students with a wide variety of objectives including piano technique, interpretation, composition, and improvisation. I am here to help my students at ...

Zack is super. I’m getting back into the swing after 10+ years of not playing the piano. Zack is able to pick up on what I need direction with, and he has a good strategy for reviewing theory to understand how songs are constructed and build the base for future improv abilities. Zack is super knowledgeable and is tuning my lessons to exactly what I’m looking for. Thanks Zack :)

With over 4 years of teaching experience, 6 years of gigging and playing the guitar for 14 years, I have cultivated a unique approach to teaching the guitar. I take the time to listen to my students, hear their struggles and dreams and create a lesson plan that is truly individual. I've worked with beginners who've never touched a guitar to professionals looking to broaden their horizons, all ages too! I am a very professional, motivated and flexible teacher looking to help you learn the guitar!

I customize my students curriculum based on their specific goals. I feel teaching students to play and transcribe songs and solos is my most important job. Most students come to me looking for structure so I try and provide a clear path for them to reach their goals. Although I love teaching music theory I understand that it is not for everyone, so I only offer theoretical principles when it is appropriate or asked for. I rarely use textbooks, but I do employ a lot of exercises and educational material when it applies to a lesson.

For students with no prior music experience I use text books, and exercises to strengthen their technique, expose them to musical ideas, and give them a foundation of basic music theory.  After that is accomplished I move into a curriculum that is more personal to their specific goals.

About Jared

I have been playing instruments and performing live since I was eleven. In college, I studied both piano and guitar, and received a bachelors of fine arts with a concentration in jazz guitar from Columbia College Chicago in 2004. I moved to Seattle in 2004 and have been performing and giving privat

Mastery over songwriting means adaptability by stepping outside yourself – thus, ironically, getting to know yourself on an even deeper level. There is no "one" right path to writing a song but there are many concepts and techniques that I've acquired at my alma mater Berklee College of Music that have helped me harness the inner creator in my musical path. In our lessons we will be opening the gates to creativity and fearless expression through an understanding of lyric writing, prosody, and harmonic and melodic development. I can't wait to start writing songs together!

I had a great time with my first guitar/songwriting lesson with Dennis, he took the time to listen to my goals that I would like to achieve and was very informative on an approach to achieve them. He was clear in his instructions and presented more complicated methods in an easy to understand way. I'm excited for my next lesson and my development under his tutoring, and highly recommend Dennis as an instructor for beginners to the more advanced.

"Last year our 10-year old daughter started playing the trumpet in Beginning Band. Over half-way through the year she missed a lot of school due to illness, got behind and was forced to drop-out of band. Over the summer we started online trumpet lessons with Mercedes to help our daughter catch up with her peers. We feel so fortunate to have found Mercedes! She is an EXCELLENT teacher. She is enthusiastic about music/playing trumpet, creative in all the ways she helps our daughter improve, positive and patient (SO important when teaching beginners) and she truly is amazing at keeping our daughter engaged during every lesson. During each 30 minute lesson, our daughter makes noticeable progress! Plus Mercedes keeps the lessons fun so our daughter happily participates. Thanks to the progress she has made with Mercedes, she is feeling confident enough to return to Second Year Band later this month. We plan to keep up the lessons with Mercedes and look forward to her ongoing support and guidance during our daughter's important beginning-to-intermediate instrument learning stage."

"immediate changes because of her vocal inventions

I've been working with Fawn for 8 months now. When I first started working with her, I was continually off pitch, as in almost tone deaf but she was able to COMPLETELY change that by my 3rd lesson. Now I know exactly how to be on pitch all the time now with her creative vocal inventions & vocal exercises…it’s been one grand accomplishment every lesson, ever since. :)

The speed & proficiency that she works at amazes me & by this I mean, her techniques work IMMEDIATELY & she works extraordinarily FAST! I have made huge progress that my friends, family & choir teacher have all told me that they can’t even believe it because they actually thought I would never be able to sing & sound good & one of the things I noticed that made such a difference for me was that Fawn always treats me as if I’m already where I want to be & I think this belief in me rubbed off. She always gives me lots of encouragement & tells me to think positive & focus on how far I have come & to build on that. She gives me a lot of homefun (as she calls it) to do, which has made me a better singer & I don’t have breaks in my voice any more. I’m becoming the best singer that I can be."
