I have studied and worked in Paris for 7 years and French is also my daily language with family. I love to help people practice their French conversation and improve the grammars .

About Jessica
My name is Jessica. I have been teaching Chinese since I moved to Paris in 2007. Now I am living in Santa Clara, California and I still have a huge passion to teach and spread the Chinese Culture.

For kids I help them with their Chinese homework and also college students to pass their school exams. I teach all from beginner to advanced levels. If you are a Native French speaker I can also teach you Chinese in French as I speak it fluently.

I give Individual Private Classes or Small Group Lessons (2-4 people). I provide a quiet place for class in Santa Clara.

I took four years of French, including one AP credit, in high school. I earned As in all four years. I have been abroad several times in my life, one summer I even took a trip to France where I stayed exclusively with a French family.
I am familiar with all the regular verb conjugations and many of the irregular ones as well. My vocabulary is fairly extensive and my strength is conversational language.

About David
My name is David and I'm a professional musician who just moved to North Austin. I came from Cincinnati, where I went to the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, taught dozens of students at all levels and played regular gigs every weekend. I have been teaching for over fifteen years, and I'm looking to get a few new students.
I teach guitar, piano, bass guitar and even upright bass. If it's a tutor you are looking for I can also teach music theory and appreciation. I have a knack for teaching young people, probably because I was young when I started my musical journey. I've been very successful at inspiring a student's love of music and instilling the patience required to take on the challenge of playing an instrument.
The first thing I like to do is get to know you, the music you enjoy and your goals. In a way, I l
ike to begin by letting the student lead.
In addition to learning from you, I intend to present you with new information, to try and broaden your musical tastes and teach you how to be an active listener.

French is my second language, but often feels as it if were the first, as I have speaking it for so many years on an everyday and professional basis. My grammar is excellent, as I learned the rules in junior high school in the Paris suburbs (grammar is an important part of French schooling). I edited a 240-page scholarly book, De La Case A La Villa (published 2014), and I gave private lessons.

About Diane
Bonjour! Hello!

I have been teaching on and off for many years, usually on a one-to-one basis; I taught teenagers and adults. I tailor my lessons to each student's individual needs and I am always ready to go above and beyond the basic lesson. I try to make learning a language fun and alive, through news, stories, and songs.

My method is to provide grammar (very important in French), vocabulary, conversation, reading, and translation in every lesson, and show how important each component is to the whole. I am overjoyed when my students start conversing without need for translation - even if there are errors!

My graduate educational background is in architecture, followed by an MBA in finance. My mother tongue is English; but I learned French at the age of nine when I attended my first French school. I have a French high school
diploma (Baccalauréat) and architecture degree.
I also attended high school in Germany, in a German high school, for several years. Learning languages was a necessity in my childhood, and I love learning, even if by now it is more difficult to become fluent in a new language. I think the fact of being a lifelong learner helps me better understand my students' needs.

As an avid reader since childhood, my spelling has always been excellent, and I worked as a proofreader. I look forward to helping my students reach their language goals.

I believe French is a great language for people to learn. Recently, I spent a semester studying abroad at a university in Toulouse, France. For a majority of the time, I was immersed in the local culture and language, and I hope to use my experience to impart some of what I learned to others.

About Lena
I am a graduate student majoring in Music Performance for the Flute. Recently, I graduated from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania with degrees in both Music Education and Music Performance. During my time there, I participated in various ensembles, including their wind ensemble, orchestra, and their opera pit.

I am also proficient in piano, as I studied it from childhood for about twelve years to accompany my flute studies.

One of my greatest accomplishments so far was when I completed a study abroad experience in Toulouse, France. While I was there, I was permitted by the local conservatory to sit in and observe lessons taught by their flute professor, and at the end of the semester, I was able to have a lesson with him.

As a teacher, I hope to help my students grow as musicians using the techniques I've learned and experiences I'v
e gained as tools I can draw upon. I'm looking forward to meeting with you.

My judgment-free learning environment makes learning a foreign language easy. I have helped various students achieve their goals! Whether a struggling student thinks this isn’t their strength, or an adult preparing for a trip simply wants to show up fluent in the basics - I can get you there! There is no better feeling than completing a conversation in a different language with friendly partner.

About Kate
Ciao and bonjour! My name is Kate. I’m so passionate about foreign language that is has made its way into each of my day jobs. I currently work as assistant director for a youth orchestra in Austria (where I learned German by immersion) and in Denver as an event planner. During my university days, I took French classes and tutored levels I-II. My students were often the LEAST confident, but I made them feel comfortable. And they all passed, if not aced, their exams! When preparing students for their trip to Austria for the orchestra, I emphasize practical phrases as well as tools to help them build their own communicative needs. My environment is friendly for practice at your pace and in your learning style. Whether for school, travel prep, or your personal bucket list, there’s no better use of money than learning a new language. Unless i
t’s for travel...but we can get there eventually! My warmest wishes - liebe Grüße - amicalement - Kate
