Fun drum lessons! I've had the pleasure of teaching hundreds of private students of all ages and skill levels for the past 21 years. I am a graduate of Berklee College of Music. I've taught master classes for the California Percussive Arts Society and the Jazz School in Berkeley. I've also taught 4th-8th grade classroom music and intro & elementary concert band and Bandworks rock ensembles for kids and adults. Additionally I've taught kindergarten and pre school music.

With over ten years’ experience playing drums/guitar and five experience performing as a professional musician, I offer a comprehensive curriculum covering foundational skills and basics as well as exploring the from kickstarting the initial creative process, to conceptualization and writing, to practicing, promoting, and performing. I offer a fun, approachable method.

Hello my name is James! I'm a professional musician and teacher from Florida. I've earned my Bachelors of Science in Music in 2017, and have been giving one on one lessons since 2014.
I'm proficient in a variety of style of music on the drum; rock, funk, jazz, hip hop, gospel. My goal is to get you playing new beats, fills, songs, and rudiments.
Best part is, I've got all the instruments you would to need to play at my studio!

I focus on drum grooves such as Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop, Latin, Swing, Rock, and RnB. I have experience from multiple drum teachers, and have attended Cuesta College (A.A. in Music Performance) and CSUSB (B.A. in Music). If you're a beginner or are looking to improve on some new ideas and techniques, I'd be glad to teach you.

Primary focus: Drums

I believe that each person is drawn to the drums for different reasons; some have dreams of performing in stadiums for thousands of people, others simply want to be able to play along to their favorite records in the garage on a Sunday afternoon. Whatever your goals are, my goal as a teacher is to always keep sight of your initial motivations for drumming, craft an individual plan to help you get there, and to have some fun along the way! I have been playing the drums for 20+years and teaching for 8+years. I studied jazz at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio, but am no stranger to playing Rock, RnB, Punk, etc..at dirty dive bars, music festivals, and other less stuffy environments :)
