I have a Ph.D. in Philology and am a native Russian speaker born in Moscow - the capital of Russia. Therefore, I can apply my knowledge of language methodologies to teach Russian. Also, I have tutored foreign students in Russian for many years already.

Russian is my native language and it is one of the most beautiful, amazing languages in the world; it is the language of great writers and poets, actors and artists, philosophers and scientists, musicians and humanists. Besides teaching I held lectures in theory of language, history of language, psycholinguistic, and sociolinguistics.

About Tatiana
I am a former German professor from Russia who currently lives in America and tutors full time now Russian and German.

I provide a variety of activities for my lessons so you will never get bored. For example, I will use games, interactive conversational lessons, fun warm up tasks, case studies, and even riddles. We will use authentic materials as well. You will learn conversational skills, formal writing skills, and test taking strategies all in a fun manner.

I have a background as as an experienced lecturer, teacher, and tutor in the field of linguistics (general linguistics, history of linguistics, psycolinguistics, social linguistics, gender studies). Since defending my dissertation, I have continued to do research in gender studies in the field of virtual communication and digital text, especially non-verbal communication, soci
al networks and gender-specific communication. However, I have found that my true passion is helping students in one-on-one lessons.

Nataliia makes learning Russian fun and easy! She is very understanding, explains things clearly, and takes time to make sure you get it. She uses a very nice online textbook that also makes it easy to practice/ keep up while outside of the "classroom". Would highly recommend Nataliia if you're looking for a Russian tutor!

If I had been lucky enough to have a teacher this great for Spanish, I never would have struggled throughout ALL of high school. I decided to try and learn Ukraine for a good friend of mine who's home is there. Nataliia has been so great. She has her lessons structured in a great way so that you basically build a strong foundation before moving on to the frame and drywall and decorations. She's always on time for our lessons and has made accommodations for me when I had to reschedule as well. You'll be extremely pleased with what you take away from every week from your time with her. Would totally recommend Nataliia to anyone wanting to learn one of the languages she teaches! Seriously, an awesome instructor. Thank You!!

My company does business in Russia so learning the language is important for me. I tried programs like Rosetta Stone but progress was slow and frustrating. Learning from a native speaker like Maria is the best way I have found. Being able to receive answers to questions quickly with explanations of the culture along with the language is invaluable. She works at my pace and tailors lessons to my needs. I am finally learning to speak, read and converse in Russian . This is the only real way to learn.

My Granddaughter is five years old and loves to take lessons from "Ms. Maria." Maria makes lessons age appropriate and she makes them fun. My granddaughter looks forward to lessons each week and she is learning
so much and she talks about what she learns. I highly recommend Ms. Maria
to any person who is considering a piano teacher for a young child.

I really enjoyed my Russian lessons with Iryna. She was very patient and very good at explaining the complex grammatical rules of Russian. It's always a little intimidating and sometimes embarrassing trying to speak a new language but Iryna created a very comfortable environment so I felt confident and uninhibited.

I took Russian lessons with Ms. Iryna for one year during my senior year of high school, and she was such an encouraging teacher and helped me learned so much that I decided to pursue a Russian major in college. She is really sweet and works hard to tailor her lessons to each individual student's interests and learning preferences. She knew that I really enjoy music, and so she would send me playlists of Russian songs to help me work on my listening and vocabulary skills. She is also extremely organized and comes to each lesson with a written out lesson plan. She definitely deserves a 5 out of 5 stars!
