I have seen many student go on to join orchestras, bands, broadway shows or simply continued their education to a university or college. Being able to read music profeciently has given me the opportunity to teach off many method books but like to use Alfred Method, Mel Bay and Frederick Noad Method books. Kristen was wonderful, she worked around my schedule and was an incredible instructor. I don't have much of a background in music and have a terrible ear. After trying to follow along with the notes on the piano and finding it difficult she recognized that I could hear the sound and imitate better when coming from another person's voice and she then would play the piano note, sing the note herself, and have me repeat it until I got more familiar with it all. Just an a+ teacher!!! I would definitely recommend her for any level of student and would be happy to take classes from her again!"

Me - Oh yeah I can (in my mind)
(end of lesson)
Me - I'm done (I quit)!
Ben - You're getting it; it takes time and practice (learning your voice).
Six month update: I am still very much pleased with my lessons with Ben. My confidence is growing and I'm actually starting to understand how to use my voice. I may not be where I want to be Yet, but I'm moving in the right direction; it takes time and practice."

I have been under the direction of Ms. Brookins since the age of 5 and have nothing but good things to say. First of all, Brookins can teach anyone anything. I 've never seen someone take lessons from her and not learn something. I took piano, clarinet, and singing lessons from Ms. Brookins and am very proud everything that she taught me. From the practices, lessons, and at home exercises, Ms. Brookins makes sure that all of her students get the time in that they need to do their best.
Besides her outstanding professionalism, Ms. Melodie Brookins is so much fun to learn from and be around. She has a ton of jokes and many great ways to help remember things about your music. I would know nothing about music had it not been for Ms. Brookins. From 5 to 17 years of age she was my teacher and mentor and for those 12 years I couldn't have asked for a better person to teach me."
