Ever since I was a child, I absolutely loved to write. During my sessions as creative writing tutor, I hope to foster that same love for writing. My students are challenged to stay true to their own voice while simultaneously considering craft, style, syntax, structure, and the myriad elements of engaging, successful writing. My sessions can be catered to a specific goal (standardized testing), or can be an open-ended experience invaluable to academic success.

About Jillian
I have a Master's degree in Music Therapy, am a nationally board certified music therapist (MT-BC); performer and vocal instructor (Bachelor's in Classical Voice); certified yoga instructor and meditation guide (200+); certified and attuned Reiki master; professional writer and editor.

...I find joy in a lot of places! And often I find these areas of study inform and augment each other.

Music therapy has afforded me a great deal of experience working with children, teens, and adults with special needs including, autism spectrum disorder, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, emotional disturbances and developmental delays as well as teens and adults with psychosocial issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, personality disorders, and more.

I incorporate my experience as a therapist into the educative se
tting.

As a voice teacher, I want to help my students settle comfortably into their own musicality by showing them the building blocks of a solid technique, drawing particularly from the things that helped me grow as a vocalist. I want my students to feel strong in their body, comfortable and relaxed in their breath, and confident in their performance.

I am a professional vocalist in NYC. I perform liturgical and classical music, as well as musical theater repertoire. I participate in professional operas, choral groups and other concert series, as well as professional theater work. Performing gives me a sense of bliss and completeness that is indescribable.

As a certified yoga instructor, I teach in many locations throughout NYC. I was trained at Yoga Haven in Scarsdale, New York with Betsy Kase, and earned a 200-hour certificate in Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation. I went on to complete advanced trainings and now specialize in restorative yoga, prenatal yoga, yin yoga and therapeutics. I offer private yoga instruction and meditation at my home studio, and on occasion in my clients’ homes. My studio comes fully equipped with all yoga props, aromatherapy, and music. Hands-on-assists and personalized sequencing to deepen your experience.

It is a joy to offer Reiki to curious, open clients in need of energy healing. Reiki is a noninvasive energy healing technique totally separate of any religious affiliation and available to anyone. It is a difficult to describe the relaxing, soothing, and deep-healing effects of Reiki to someone who has never experienced.

Please feel free to inquire about any of my services!

*Note: If you don't see a time slot that is suitable to your needs but would like to try a session with me, feel free to register for the Flex Plan, and we will work out week-to-week times!!**

**Note: If you are interested in music therapy, please email me with a bit about yourself (or your loved one) and your personal goals, as well as the qualities you hope to find in your therapist.

If you have ever taken a yoga class in studio or by watching tv, you know that it’s hard to tell exactly what you need to be doing for the poses. Jillian is very knowledgeable about yoga so that you learn the correct way and the most effective way. She’s very organized and create lesson plans fitting for your needs. I like to challenge myself and learn, and Jillian’s lesson plans have helped me accomplish my goals. Every lesson I have been learning something new, and feel like I’ve had a great workout. She also can help you use yoga for healing the body. I recommend Jillian for anyone who wants to get the best quality instruction for yoga. And she’s super nice.

I've been writing since I was old enough to do so and I would love to share my passion of writing with you. From screenwriting to fiction to essays to writing sketches, I've tackled it all. And I'd love to help you develop your story as you work hard to become the writer you've always wanted to be!

About Kimberly
I am a trained actress in my late 20's. I have experience coaching many professional working actors. I have worked on audition sides for TV (Law & Order, Narcos, Disney, SMILF, etc), independent films, big budget studio films, web series, off broadway plays, off off broadway plays, monologues, and anything in between with my students!

I am currently the creator, writer, lead actress & executive producer of my own comedic web series (to air mid-2018).

I have been trained by exceptional teachers in the following: Linklater (voice), Williamson (movement), film/tv & theater, script analysis, theater & film history, cold reading, monologue, stand-up comedy, etc. I have also been mentored by the legendary standup comedian Rick Crom.

I can also work with the actor, writer or comedian on the business aspect of their career: how can I
get the best headshot?, what things should I be doing everyday to reach my acting goals (some may not even be acting/writing/comedy!)?, how do I get in front of this specific casting director/producer/etc?, what events/workshops should I be attending? We can go over all that plus how to deal with nerves, get through personal blocks, fear-related patterns, and other things that may be holding you back from being the best artist you can be!

I believe training is so important so congrats on taking the first step towards a successful, exciting career! I can't wait to share my passions with you!

I have a self tape set-up with a backdrop, professional lighting & tripod. I am happy to be your reader & coach as we film your audition, scene or stand up set. We can use this as a tool to improve or film a self tape audition. We can also chose your best take together.

Not only will we study and practice writing techniques, but also learn how to proof read and edit papers. Writing lessons will be tailored to fit the needs of the writer.

About Amanda
Hello Lovely future students!!! I am a professional actor, dancer, choreographer, director and a Texas state certified educator! I have taught nearly every subject in public schools from grades k - 12 as well as acting, musical theatre, dance and voice at the college level! I attended both SMU and TCU, graduating with a BFA and MFA in Theatre performance, dance, radio/tv/film production and Criminal Justice!

Acting students can expect to improve each week in their character development, technique, script analysis and realistic performance abilities. We will also explore theatre spaces, prepare for auditions and determine specific physical warm ups designed for the individual student to assist in releasing tension. I strive to help all students perform at their highest level and obtain professional opportunities!

Dance students can expe
ct to learn technique styles and combinations in accordance with the style of dance we are learning. Students will experience various forms of dance, warm ups and physical conditioning. We will practice technique as well as audition and dance call preparation. It is a goal to assist to students in their craft and guide them to achieve their personal goals within dance -whether that be stage or commercial dance!

Voice students can expect to improve week to week in their vocal technique. Every voice has a unique timbre; I teach students to release built up tension and apply foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual sound. I can help any student to sing with freedom, confidence, and expression.

Academic students can look forward to a fun learning environment, honing in concepts from their subject in a unique, non lecture style. I am an incredibly hands on teacher and love to incorporate technology into my lessons!

While the arts are my passion, a well rounded academic student is a must! I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better performer!

Writing as always been one of my passions, and I have been tutoring this subject for three years. Lessons can range anywhere from essay or paragraph help, to creative writing pieces. We can also work on sentence structure, and proper punctuation.

About Micayla
Language has always been one of my greatest passions, and whenever I am presented with the opportunity to share this with others, I get a little too excited. When it comes to English, I can teach young children how to spell their name, and recognize letters. With older children, we can focus on sight words, and solving word problems. At the middle and high school levels, we I can teach you proper essay formats, how to cite sources using the format that is asked of you, and grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
