About Francisca
I am a very passionate and dedicated instructor. I love working with students at all levels from ages 9 and up, from beginners to experienced adults. It doesn't matter where you are in your musical development, I can help and encourage you to be your very best. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Sydney Australia with (High Class Honors) and Majored in Music Performance and Sub Majors in Composition and Theatre. I have had the opportunity to perform in the USA at various venues and overseas in Australia at the Sydney Opera House to name a few.

My teaching experience dates back to my University days. I was in my first year of my music degree when I applied for my first teaching position at a music school in Australia. I taught there throughout the Four years of my Bachelor's Degree and remained teaching
there after that. I also started teaching at another well respected music school and remained there until the end of 2010. During this time I was very fortunate to have a large database of students who were with me from the beginning of my teaching career up until I left both schools. The only reason I left was as I am also a performer; I was offered an opportunity to perform overseas and i took it. It was a very exciting part of my life as a performer and has helped me grow as an artist and teacher immensely.

In 2012, I relocated to Miami and have been teaching from my private home studio while I continue working on my music career. As a musician and educator, I am very passionate about my teaching and like to bring the best out in my students. Every lesson is tailored specifically to your individual learning needs. I will teach you a vocal technique based on the Seth Riggs Teaching method with my own methods implemented, performance skills, repertoire selection, and audition preparation amongst other skills. It doesn't matter what your desired goal is, I can help you achieve it. The most important part of it all is that you have fun!!

And for piano I like to teach through a series of books depending on your learning levels. We can start at book one, with scales from the book A Dozen a Day, or we can take the the more traditional route of scales, or learn popular songs. This decision can be made by you and I when we meet at our first lesson and discuss what your goals are as a musician.

*** Lesson Details ***
Every lesson is tailored to your individual learning levels. I normally asses this in the first lesson. Lets start with the Singers.

Most singers are looking for help with contemporary popular music so using specific texts are void here. I will teach you a method of singing technique based on the Seth Riggs singing method, implemented with a technique called "Emotion Centered Singing" which will help you understand music beyond melody and composition but also through text and individual interpretation through story telling customed to your needs. I also teach Musical Theatre Singing, pop, rock, jazz, so if these are routes you would like to take, I can help you on your way there. I will help you choose repertoire for auditions, performances, we will work on performance and audition technique and many more fun things!!!

For the Pianists. This also depends on what you want to get out of your lessons. Do you want to learn pop songs? arrangements? Or do you want to learn classical pieces? I ask you all these questions and more at our first lesson to make sure you and I are both happy with the direction we will take. I use either Scale Books or The Dozen a Day Series or the ABRSM Piano series, Alfred's Adult Piano book and many more. Once again the important factor here is Fun based learning!

*** Studio Equipment ***
I provide a full size digital weighted piano for all Lessons, it has various different sounds and a great grand piano sound for piano students. Printer for any homework given, and stationery

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide some books for learning and make copies accordingly. The student should have a working piano/keyboard in the home. If i request they purchase a book for their learning development, they are required to purchase it.

*** Specialties ***
For Singing- I teach a method called Speech Level Singing. Similar to the Seth Riggs Speech level singing as well as a technique called Emotion centered singing which deals with connecting with the song and feeling the connection through the core. This is useful for performance and interpretation. I specialize in teaching, Pop, RnB, Musical Theatre, Rock and Folk

For Piano, I use a variety a books. I particularly like the Alfred's series as well as the Bastien Series. I also like to encourage other learning materials for holidays which is lots of fun!! This depends on the students learning level. I asses learning levels in the first lesson and plan lessons accordingly after that in order to have the student progress each week. I teach classical piano and contemporary, pop

About Chris
Hi there! My name is Chris and I've been playing music my entire life and I believe that with the right attitude and environment anyone can achieve musical greatness!

I was born into a musical family and have studied classical piano since I was 4 years old! I am very well versed in music theory and proper technique, with an emphasis on avoiding player's injuries, as well as a great knowledge of classical Pieces for any skill level.

Alas!

As a young teenager I grew rebellious and learned how to play the electric guitar and have since sought teachers outside my family to learn modern styles and 5 other instruments!! I have also worked toward a music degree and have made music the center of my life.

Classical music is not everyone's passion but a good practice routine, attitude and environment is always a good thing to ha
ve as these things are important regardless of your favorite music.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are held with a fun and relaxed attitude. Learning music should always be enjoyable and a good attitude and love for music is cultured and encouraged.

Lessons are structured just like a practice session should be. We will begin with a warm-up exercise designed to acquaint you with the proper technique to meet your personal musical goals. the next activities are highly personalized, but is usually something like reading music or a music theory game. These activities are things that are good for you but may not be your favorite part of learning music. They will, however, go a long way toward your better understanding of how your favorite music is structured.

Examples could be learning about 12 bar blues, common strum patterns (for guitar), scales, sight-reading, or music analysis.

We will spend the rest of class learning and practicing an activity of your choice. This is usually a song but can be anything you wish to improve upon. this is usually a long-term goal of yours. *I've always wanted to learn......*

By structuring our lessons the same as how you will practice, and by keeping good notes, it will be easy for you to take on practice at home and achieve all of your musical goals!

*** Travel Equipment ***
Students should have their own guitar/piano/keyboard etc. Guitar/violin students should also have a music stand and tuner to keep at home. I will bring picks, spare tuner, music, and handouts.

*** Specialties ***
I primarily specialize in classical piano in styles such as Muzio Clementi and Frederic Chopin. I also play Bach and various Spanish classical guitar pieces. I have also extensively studied electric guitar in Blues such ZZ Top, Metal such as Metallica, and rock such as Led Zeppelin. I have also studied Irish and Celtic folk music for instruments such as Mandolin and Violin.

About Denise
I'€ve always had a love for music. When I was 8 years old, I taught myself how to read music before my first piano lesson because I was so excited to learn. I continued taking piano lessons throughout my school days and became involved in choir in high school.

When I began college I decided to study business. I auditioned for choir and realized that my dream was to become a music educator. I graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. I studied piano, voice, clarinet, and music education. I had a lot of experience playing the piano and singing that I decided to learn the clarinet and join the concert band so I could have band experience. I was also involved in hand bell choir and continued to perform with the choir after I graduated. After graduating, I taught piano at various private eleme
ntary schools throughout San Diego. I also had the wonderful experience of being the pianist and vocal soloist at my church. I am a substitute teacher and have the opportunity to work with students from preschool to high school and am able to use my knowledge of each age group and school curriculum in teaching music.

"Great works are performed not by strength, but by perseverance" - Samuel Johnson

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are tailored to each individual student'€s needs. I think everyone is special and has their own unique way of learning and customized lessons should reflect that. I believe that music theory is important and I include that in lessons. For piano lessons I mainly use Alfred'€s piano books. In each lesson I will demonstrate the necessary skills in order for the students to feel comfortable in taking the music home to practice. For voice lessons I include vocalizations, vocal technique, and song study.

I want students to have fun with music. I am very patient and I think it'€s important to encourage and praise students. I hope to instill the desire to learn in each student.

About Rhonda
With over 20 years of experience as a musician, piano teacher, and music director, I am able to explore all aspects of musical theory and make the piano an enjoyable and exciting instrument to learn to play.

My lessons will be rhythmically exciting, and never boring. I always have book lessons as well as personal musical pieces that the student would like to work on. I most often will incorporate ear training in all of my lessons without being obvious about it, as well as performance. I believe it should be music that speaks to the heart.

Not only will students achieve their goals in learning to play their favorite song or actually play well, they will find a peace and a calm in freely exploring the art of music. Whether they find it to be an escape from it all, or their future with a musical career, it shall be achieved.

I have been teaching piano for over 40 years, full-time for the past 13. Besides the actual repertoire, technique and theory are always included in my lessons because they are essential. Sight reading and ear training are also included in some lessons.

I stress accuracy in playing and attention to details! I also teach my students HOW to practice. Slow, accurate practice is the answer. Practicing takes patience!

Please note: Home lessons must be at a location that I can get to easily with public transportation. I do not have a car.

About Emil
I started to study the piano at the age of seven with Hrant Minassian in my hometown of Island Park, New York. During high school I continued my studies with Jack Chaikin , a graduate of the Juilliard School. I attended Hofstra University where I received a B.A. in Music in 1979. At Hofstra, my piano teachers were Blanche Abram and Morton Estrin.

After graduating from Hofstra, I moved into Manhattan and continued my piano studies with Elena Wolkonsky at the Juilliard School. I also took a few lessons from Adam Aleksander, concert pianist, in Miami. So all together, I took lessons for 20 years with six different teachers!

I started teaching piano when I was 18 years old and taught all throughout college. After enjoying a successful career in data processing for 22 years, I decided to go back to teaching piano in 2003.

I thoro
ughly enjoy what I am doing. It's a pleasure to pass on to my students everything that my great teachers taught me.

Emil was the teacher I was looking for. I have tried to learn piano on my own for a while now, but most of the time it became overwhelming. I wasn't sure I was going in the right direction, or if I was learning what I should know in the right order. So far, what Emil had done for me was to take what I've known already and add much more to it. He also has started to correct some bad habits I became accustomed to, which I would have never picked up on my own. He's very knowledgeable, and ties in music theory during the lesson. He's down to earth, throws in some jokes to lighten the mood, and create an enjoyable learning experience.

As a music education graduate from James Madison University, I have worked with students from Kindergarten to lifelong learning groups in both classroom and one-on-one settings. I have especially enjoyed working with young students who are just being introduced to music.

I have taught beginner piano at several locations including Mike's Music in Ellicott City, Maryland and Nova Music Center in Manassas, Virginia and look forward to introducing your beginning student to the piano.

About Leslie
My name is Leslie, and I recently graduated from James Madison University with a degree in music education. I've been involved with teaching in various capacities from about age 8 until now, but have been teaching voice and piano lessons anywhere from Pre-K to lifelong learning groups for the past several years now.

I grew up learning classical methods for voice and have been able to translate those healthy techniques to other styles of music. I have most recently performed in operas through JMU and other professional groups, have been involved in their musicals as well as in semi-professional productions, and have enjoyed my time singing in jazz combos. Participating in both performance and education has always been important in my life, and I hope to continue this trend. Not only do I find both settings incredibly enjoyable, but I a
m a firm believer that teachers should be able to practice what they preach as far as skill acquisition and work ethic!

While voice is my primary instrument, I also offer piano for beginning and intermediate students as well as ear training lessons. While we have fun in our lessons and with music, a certain amount of discipline and practice time is necessary for improvement. You'll find that I'm very organized in my approach for all subjects, as I take the time that you are paying for seriously. I work hard to offer comprehensive lessons that will help you with whatever genre you're learning or skills you're working to hone.

If you have any questions at all- about lessons, your teacher search, or scheduling, feel free to send me a note, and I'll be happy to get back to you as quickly as possible!

I have been teaching piano since I graduated high school, and will continue to do so until I graduate with a music major in college. I teach out of plenty of different books, depending on age level and learning style. I teach from my own home, the music store in Redlands, and can even travel for lessons for a small fee. What I teach and the way I teach is dependent on the student, and what I believe will be useful for them moving forward. But, the most important aspect is fun!

About Dominic
Hi! My name is Dominic and I'm a lifelong lover of music. I've found through experience with studios, other musicians, and professional teachers, that teaching music is what I want to do. I have a huge passion to help students stay interested and engaged, because I believe that if a student loves what they are doing, they WILL become great at it. I would love to cultivate that success! Students will be taught theory, technique, and performance skills. These skills are vital to a students growth, and will be a major focus in my lessons. They will also learn to play music that they enjoy, alongside practical repertoire. I teach beginning piano, violin, ukulele, and guitar lessons. If you're looking for someone with a flexible schedule, lessons offered on and offline, and a passion for teaching new skills, consider me as your teacher!

My lessons will consist of adaptive teaching. Depending on age, I will approach teaching in a manner to instill the knowledge for learning music notation along with the ability to play the piano. Beginners: Ages from 7-12 years old will start with basic fundamentals of music. This will be active lessons with learning both music notation and the piano until the student can apply both skills together. Any ages higher above 12, will be approach with a similar method of teaching if they are beginners. Music selection for the students can range from any sort of genre depending on the availability of sheet music. This way it can be taught with the appliance of music theory while learning their musicality. Age difference comes with different types of music. Which I believe effects all of us. So the best music to teach the students, is through that connection. However Classical teaching will be focused heavily, because I believe it's the foundation to playing music. My goal is to teach the ...

I love sharing my passion for music with my students. I am an active performing singer/songwriter/musician and share my real life experience with my students.

About Maggie
I am a professional singer, pianist, songwriter, and recording artist. I graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelors of Music, specifically piano.

Piano and voice students can expect to improve week to week. I can help any student to play/sing with freedom, confidence, and expression.

I teach piano students of all different ages and experience levels. I studied classical piano and contemporary keyboard for 20+ years. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student.

As a professional recording artist I frequently take trips to LA and Nashville for co-writing, recording, and taking meetings. I have written with well-known writers. I love to mentor students who want to become effective,
dynamic songwriters.

My personal passion is contemporary music but I firmly believe that great technique is essential to any and every style. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician!
