I have been playing drums for more than 10 years and have been teaching for more than 3. Throughout that time, I have played across the country in New York City and even in Japan. I am currently a Jazz Studies Major at Sacramento State University. My goal is to make every student a well-rounded drummer who knows whats going on when they are in any type of musical situation. My favorite style to play is jazz, but I am well-rounded in all other styles such as rock, Latin, blues, funk, and country.

In my lessons, I base the material on the student depending on how advanced they are. If the student is just starting out, I will teach them the basics such as holding the drumsticks properly, basic rudiments, reading rhythms, learning about the hardware, and so on.

If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask :D

About Gabriel

I started playing drums when I was in second grade and formed a band with my 2 older brothers who played bass and guitar. It was something to do when we younger but when I got into high school, I took playing drums a lot more seriously. I was in a very competitive marching band playing bass drum an

Relatable and experienced Trombone and Brass teacher looking for beginner/intermediate level students! All ages welcome, no one is too young or too old to learn as long as you like music and want to learn your instrument. We will set goals together based on how YOU want to sound and what music YOU want to play. I will do my best to offer you the knowledge and experience I have while relating it to other concepts/experiences you already possess. In lessons, you can expect to work on tone, embouchure, breathing, rhythms, lip slurs, etc.

Once we have a handle on the basics, I'll arrange music hand tailored for my student based on what music they like to listen to with their ability in mind! I've done music for students all ages and many genres. A few examples of favorites are The Polar Express movie soundtrack music, Back to the Future soundtrack, Bad Guy by Billie Ellish, We Are Number One from Lazy Town, and many others.

I hope you're excited about these lessons as much as I am ...

Jordan is very knowledgeable and a good teacher. You can find good guitar players that will show you how to play guitar, but Jordan is much more than that and can instruct even veteran players on how to improve their play.

Great Instruction for all levels

I am in my mid-thirties and have never had any formal musical instruction until I started taking lessons with Jordan a few months ago. I was a little nervous about starting the lessons, but Jordan made me very comfortable right away. You definitely can tell he knows music inside and out. He is also very helpful about incorporating just enough music theory into each lesson, so I can expand my knowledge of theory, but not so much that I get overwhelmed. I would definitely recommend Jordan to anyone looking for a great vocal or guitar instructor.

"We would highly recommend Mr. Troy.

We were unsure of what kind of instructor Mr. Troy was when we initially signed up with him. While he appeared to be a very well educated musician and accomplished composer, we did not know if he would have a good chemistry to teach piano to my daughter. As it turns out, Mr. Troy is not only a talented pianist but also a good communicator. He responds to our questions and concerns very promptly. In our first lesson, Mr. Troy immediately discovered my daughter's recurring piano issues after giving her a diagnostic test. During each lesson, he explains the piano theories and points out what technical skills that my daughter will learn and need to practice during the following week. He does not just teach her how to play piano, but he challenges her mind and teaches her the correct mental approach to playing piano. We are very happy to have a great instructor like Mr. Troy."

"Poh Hock is a great teacher that really has a passion for playing and teaching guitar. His style of teaching is very precise and methodical. I learned a lot of songs taking lessons with him but more importantly Poh Hock taught me how to practice material that I was working on. The lessons were really more like guided practice sessions. While some teachers that I've had might just use the lesson to teach material and have me practice over the week, Poh Hock used lesson time to really drill sections and get them to sound good. I absolutely recommend Poh Hock as a teacher for anyone who seriously wants to improve their playing and their approach to music in general."

"I took lessons with Joseph for two years at the end of high school and credit him with my decision to pursue a career in Music Education. He is an extraordinary teacher who transformed my playing. I was pushed to work harder, inspired by his playing, and taught new skills in our lessons. Joseph also impressed me with his willingness to go above and beyond in his efforts to find me pieces of music that I would enjoy and which suited my style of playing. I am now a piano teacher myself and try to exemplify some of the same qualities in my teaching that I saw in his. I highly recommend him to the pianist of any age and level of experience!"

"Paul is a fabulous instructor!! He is so enthusiastic about what he does and takes his time with our lessons. I have never felt rushed at a lesson and we always use up the entire hour. Paul is also very accommodating when it comes to the practice location. He adjusts his schedule to make it easier for me to commute to the destination of the practice. In addition, Paul picks up music very quickly, so any song you want to learn, he will write the notes down for you and teach you to play it! I highly recommend Paul as an instructor because he is very good at what he does."

"I observed my 6yr old daughter's first guitar lesson with Rina. She is patient while providing proper technique, posture, reading music and teaching new notes (remember, this is a 6yr old!). My daughter left the lesson with an ear to ear smile and immediately told me how nice Rina is and how she loved it. I am very pleased with our experience so far and my daughter and I are both excited to continue.

As far as logistics, Rina is quick to respond via phone and email. Although she is in Westfield, her location has plenty on-street parking."
