About Justin
Hello! My name is Justin L and I've been drumming for 16 years. I've played in several bands as both a session and live drummer. As a live drummer, I have played a number of notable gigs -- I had a 3 month residency at the Anaheim House of Blues where my band, The Dealers, played rock n' roll and blues every Friday night. I've opened for Led Zepagain, Wild Child, Gary Hoey, Filter, and Queen Nation, to name a few shows. I've also played a few original shows at the Orange County Fair. Currently, I'm recording an EP/LP for Rainy Day Fund.

I have my master's in psychology and have worked
as a teaching assistant at California State University, Fullerton for the past 3 years. I'm also an ABA therapist -- I work 1:1 with kids diagnosed with developmental disabilities. Given my teaching experience as a graduate student and ABA therapist, I have experience working with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds and can tailor my lessons for each student.

About Erin
I carry an enthusiasm for knowledge, excitement about the "nerdy" subjects like mathematics and science, and determination to pass that on to my students. I believe in the power of positive reinforcement and prefer to educate students, whether highly gifted or experiencing significant obstacles, in a manner that will leave them not only more knowledgeable, but also more confident. I never use the same approach twice. Each session is tailored to my students' strengths and needs, filling in what is incomplete, and building upon what they already possess. I am passionate about education and the d
evelopment of growing minds, and it shows in my sessions.

I have nearly 10 years total experience working as an educator. I began my experience teaching chemistry and mathematics in a classroom setting as part of a philanthropy program sponsored by my college, University of Southern California. I continued in the industry working for several companies such as Sylvan Learning Centers, Kaplan, TutorFind, and Club Z Tutoring. Since that time, I have continued to work privately with countless students, tailoring my lessons to students' needs and allowing our interactions to grow beyond academic instruction into academic planning, college admissions processes, and mentorship.

I specialize in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and standardized test preparation, but am also available as a general supplemental education provider for any and all subjects with which I have sufficient experience. I like to build a strong connection with my students and their parents, offering not only supplemental education, but also mentorship and academic advisement. I have worked with many families during the planning stages of transition from middle school to high school and high school to university, helping plan a solid academic structure for the student that will guarantee success.

I am available for last-minute tutoring (e.g. studying for a final exam), short-term tutoring solutions (e.g. standardized test preparation), as well as long-term instruction on a regular basis for students with ongoing needs.

We are very satisfied with Erin's services - our daughter improved her ACT score by 4 points with Erin's tutoring assistance! Erin knew how to use technology to make the online tutoring sessions as effective as though they were in person. Not only is she smart in the subject matter, she is also very personable. I would highly recommend Erin!

About Joyee
My primary career is as an educational consultant. I devote over fifty hours a week to help my students succeed in high school and college through academic coaching, test preparation services, and college admissions counseling. When not teaching, I spend my 'work time' on curriculum design, lesson planning, visiting colleges, networking with college admissions officers. In fact, I am a member of the two largest national organizations of college admissions counselors.

I am one of very few tutors in the world who has received a perfect 36 on the ACT and a 2400 on the SAT. In addition to the f
act that I sit for each official ACT and SAT exam (13 times a year). Unlike most classroom programs, I work with students so that they can learn the foundations of why and how the test is structured so that they can gain a deeper understanding of the test prep that will not only be helpful for test day, but also for college.

Great ACT Tutor!

Joyee is a great ACT tutor. He is patient, encouraging, and has deep insight into the type questions the current ACT tests include.

We engaged Joyee to help my daughter with her ACT - focusing on Science and Maths. Her initial diagnostic test results were decent - 33 out of 36. After two months of Joyee’s help, my daughter proceeded to take her ACT in September. She received the perfect score - 36 out of 36. We are very happy with her results and she couldn’t have gotten the perfect score in such short period of time had we not engaged Joyee.

Joyee: job well done!

This past summer, I was in search of a tutor to assist my brother with his preparation for the ACT. A number of conversations with local tutors proved fruitless, as they were either too expensive or had rigid schedules. After doing some research online, I came across Joyee’s profile on Wyzant. I was particularly impressed by his extensive background in ACT tutoring having worked for some well-regarded test preparation companies. In addition, his rates were extremely fair. I enlisted Joyee’s tutoring services via skype, and my experience was remarkable. In spite of the three hour time difference between the east coast and west coast, Joyee remained a consummate professional with regard to his scheduling and punctuality. Most importantly, he is fully invested in his students, demonstrating patience and understanding whilst pushing them to achieve their full potential. Prior to working with Joyee, my brother had an initial diagnostic score of 27. After six weeks of tutoring with Joyee my brother scored a 35 on the September 2015 ACT. I highly recommend Joyee, his tutoring services are the perfect complement for any motivated high school student seeking help with test preparation.

Joyee Lin of Thinque has been nothing short of amazing. Professional with results to show. My daughter started working with Joyee a couple of months ago. Within six lessons, my daughter's composite ACT score went from a 28 prior to working with Joyee to a 32. Amazingly, her science score went from a 25 to a 32.
Those numbers are the end result of Joyee's professional approach to teaching. During the lesson, Joyee utilizes a number of methods to present the material. It must be said that my daughter took his instruction seriously and worked hard on the material which was provided to her. The result was a good example of team work in which my daughter could receive, in addition to immediate instruction, quick review and understanding after working through the material.
Joyee makes it easy to work around a busy lifestyle as he schedules and responds to correspondence promptly. We can't offer him enough praise. Joyee is offering an amazing service and we were so glad to have been referred to him.

About Garrett
My name is Garrett. I am originally from Southern California where I grew up constantly around music. My mother being a pianist I started at a young age. After a few years and a few different instruments, I fell in love with the Oboe. I was fortunate to have great teachers through middle school and high school and I ended up making my way to college on a Music Scholarship. Studying mainly classical music, I did have my chances to explore various genres and perform all over California as well as various cities in the US. I am very passionate and love to teach. I look forward to the possibility
of teaching/coaching young or old musicians here in California.
