I began acting in community theatre when I was seventeen years old. It is something that I am absolutely passionate about. I have been fortunate enough to play some of the characters that I love; Nellie Forbush in "South Pacific"; Anita in "West Side Story"; Eliza Dolittle in "My Fair Lady" and Guinevere in "Camelot," to name a few. I have also been in two independent films.

I will be teaching two group lessons, one on Monday nights from 6:00-7:00 pm and one on Tuesday nights 7:00-8:00 pm. Monday nights will be for children and Tuesday nights for adults. I will be welcoming up to five students in each class. During my classes we will learn different acting techniques, among them improv and Stanislavski's Method.

My 30+ years of experience in community theatre and what I have learned from teachers and other actors is what I look forward to passing on to those who are as passionate about acting as I am.

About Tina
I started singing professionally at the age of fourteen. I have had leading roles in semi-professional theatre productions since I was seventeen. I have also been assistant director, musical director, choreographer, costumer and writer for many productions from West Side Story to My Fair Lady to Camelot. In the theatre I have worked with and trained children and adults of all ages. I have also conducted summer camps that were theatre workshops for children. I was a school teacher at a Charter school for eight years and I taught music and drama to children from Kindergarten to 12th grade. I have been giving voice lessons for more than twenty years. I tailor my programs based on the needs of my students. I am passionate about music and I love being able to share that with other individuals who are passionate about music. I have wor
ked with children and adults who told me "I cannot sing" and have shown them that, once you understand how your voice works, you can do things you never dreamed you could do. I will work hard to help anyone who has the love and determination to sing to improve and become a better singer.

Students I have worked with have won competitions and even been accepted into the AMDA in New York.

*** Lesson Details ***
The voice is an instrument and, like any instrument, you have to know all of its parts and how it works in order to get the most out of it. I teach my students how to properly use their voice without damaging their vocal chords. I teach vocal techniques and exercises to help my students become a better singer. My students will learn how to use their diaphragm; how to use dynamics; how to project; how to build up their lung capacity; how to sing in a clear and articulate manner; how to sing various different types of music; how to control their voice; and how to develop their natural ear for music as well as showmanship. My style and technique has been developed over many years of practical experience and learning from instructors and entertainers who work in the entertainment industry. My method of teaching is entirely my own and I have had a lot of success with it. I expect my students to work hard and be dedicated but I try to make the lessons not just instructional but fun.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Home-lessons taught in a designated music room, has an electric weighted keyboard and a karaoke machine.

I have recording capabilities that allow me to record my students and blend their voices with the background tracks that we work with. Once a song has been mastered, I record the song and email it to you so you can have it to enjoy and share with family and friends.

*** Specialties ***
I teach my students breathing techniques; how to use the diaphragm and relax the vocal chords; how to project; how to properly enunciate; how to perform a song instead of just singing it; showmanship; how to select the music that is right for them. The voice is an instrument and, like any instrument, you have to fully understand it and its different parts in order to get the most out of it.

I believe the development and training of an artist is a special, sacred, and important act.

If you would like to find more truth, more humor, and more joy in your work as an actor or performing artist, then I would be privileged to help you along that journey!

As a teacher I have taught around the country at universities as a guest artist and faculty member, as well as with performing arts centers from coast to coast. As a practicing artist, I am continually researching new and updated methods and find this passion translates into my lessons with my students.

I believe in positive reinforcement and building upon a student's current skill set, rather than tearing an actor to pieces, in order to bring about the most effective results, all the while finding JOY in the work!

I have performed as an actor, singer, and musician Off-Broadway in New York, on many National tours, and at regional theatres all across the United States. I find this varied experience allows me to

I have worked with probably 4 dozen acting instructors, coaches, directors in my life, and Chad is the BEST OF THE BEST.
Through several years of working with him, I can vouch that with him you always know what you get: 100% quality, all of the time. He is fully present, meets you on eye level, is kind and understanding, and encourages/motivates you to go beyond what you thought was possible.
Whether it is audition prep, Shakespeare scene work, or general acting skills, there is nobody I would trust more than Chad to help me be the best actor I can possibly be.
Most importantly, with Chad I have always felt completely safe to explore characters, inner movements, and feelings in the process.
The only bad thing I can say about Chad is that he will absolutely ruin you for the next coach or director that comes along, since no one can come even close to his quality.

Chad is incredible at making you feel very comfortable while also challenging you to go beyond what you believe you can do. In every environment that I have worked with him, he has been kind, generous and inspiring. I would recommend him to anyone (young, old, beginner, advanced) in a heart beat. It has changed my life and my career to have learned from him.

Have you always had that itch that makes you stay up late a night dreaming about what your life could be if you followed your dreams? Is your child overly dramatic and they need a creative outlet? No fear, Valeka is here. I'm a professional broadway, tv and film actress. I have over 10 years of experience in teaching acting and I want to teach you how to be comfortable in your skin and follow your dreams!

About Valeka
Affectionately known as “Vivacious V” Valeka J Holt is a critically acclaimed artist! She’s a professor at Georgia College where she teaches acting, content creation and solo show writing. A recent ATL transplant from DC, Valeka has quickly become an ATL favorite. She’s a member of the acting and playwright company at Working Title Playwrights, screened her award-winning film at Screening Room ATL, and has participated in workshops and readings at True Colors, Alliance and Horizon Theatre Companies!

DC credits include: Nina in “Sunset Baby." Broadway world states: "Valeka J. Holt is astonishing. I predict a great future is ahead of her. One gets to see her transformation from the hardened criminal to that of a young woman who has just lost her mother, when she strips herself from her make-up, wig, and clothes into a bathrobe, sits on
her couch, covers herself in a wrap which was covering the couch and weeps. It's a powerful moment."

Penny in “Father Comes Home from the Wars” at Roundhouse Theatre. The Washington Post’s states “Early receives stalwart support from an ensemble that includes, most notably, Valeka J. Holt as Penny, who, like Odysseus’s Penelope, perseveres valiantly while her man is away.
DCist states, “Holt is so emotionally invested in her character that by play’s end you feel that you might be watching a very real moment of personal unraveling. A dead ringer for Orange is the New Black’s Uzo Aduba in artistic skill, Holt is a pleasure to watch.

Other praised performances include her work as Ruth in The Tony Award Winning Arena Stage’s production of “A Raisin in the Sun."

Finding an Acting Coach in Los Angeles is a daunting and overwhelming process. For me, I set out to find someone who's approach resonated with me as well as pushed and challenged me, helping me deepen my craft and boost my self-confidence. I needed to find a coach with whom I could form a relationship, who could provide an environment where I felt comfortable to receive feedback, to allow myself to be vulnerable and to take risks. I wanted a coach who could facilitate growth and help take my career to the next level. And, of course, I wanted to find someone who is qualified and knows what they are doing. Valeka was recommended through a fellow actor, and it was the best referral ever! Her knowledge is incredible and she is always willing to help. Since working with Valeka, I have been constantly going on auditions and FINALLY getting called back. I can't recommend Valeka enough, and if my word is not enough, reach out to her. You won't be sorry!

Do you need help finding the perfect audition monologue? Want some coaching on your performance? Need some advice on a scene or a script? I have taught acting, voice, and movement for the past two years and work with people of all skill levels and experience. I believe in a holistic approach to acting, so I work on enhancing imagination, body, and voice. I can work with you on general acting technique, presence, healthy use of voice, movement work, dialects, or any or all of the above!

My teaching is very individualized, so I'll work with you to discover what your unique goals and needs are and then design a plan based on that. I believe in guiding rather than dictating, so I will always act as the guide to your discoveries rather than dictating what your performance "should" be. My background is primarily in Meisner acting work, so I will work with you to "act truthfully under imaginary circumstances". I also provide speech, voice, and movement work to supplement the acting work ...

About Kevan
Hi! I'm an actor, director, and playwright who loves sharing my passion for theatre with people of all ages. I am primarily an acting teacher specializing in the Meisner technique. I am a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma with a BFA in Acting and Texas Tech University with an MFA in Theatre Performance. I have had the opportunity to train from some of the country's most exceptional theatre artists, and bring a wide array of tools to my work as an acting coach.

Acting is hard work, but it should be fun! I'll teach you specific techniques or we can work on specific material.
Students can expect a highly personalized experience; I like to "meet the student where they are", serving as a guide and a coach rather than an all-knowing guru. Whatever your experience, skill, or comfort level with performing may be, I will work with
you using the tools in my toolbox to make you a more present, spontaneous, and engaging performer. I teach students to better understand their character and make spontaneous choices, living fully in the moment as an actor instead of worrying about "what's my next line?" or "do I look silly?"

Let's find what's unique about you and find ways to use it!

I can also work with students on healthy use of voice, dialects, and movement. I specialize in French, Russian, Cockney, Received Pronunciation (RP), Southern American, and Irish dialects. I'm excited to work with you!
