I have over 10 years of experience teaching piano lessons to students of all ages. It is most important to me that students love learning music. I see this as a way for students to develop self-motivation to practice and feel excited about their own musical growth. I strive to make music lessons both fun and challenging by incorporating interests from the student as well as mixing in technically challenging and traditional repertoire.

About Kim
I love teaching music and helping students to find a passion for learning an instrument. I have experience as a music teacher in K-12 classrooms and also teaching private lessons to people of all ages. I have been playing piano since I was 5 years old and have been singing long before that. I attended college for piano performance and then switched my major to Choral/General Music Education. Since graduating, I have consistently taught private lessons to students of all ages. In addition to being a music teacher, I have an MA in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Child Development and feel equipped to work with students with special needs.

Coming in as a complete beginner in guitar I was a little nervous about finding a good teacher. I have really enjoyed my lessons with Andrew! He is extremely knowledgeable, his lessons are a good balance of theory and practice and well prepared. He is also incredibly patient when I have to start the same measure 20 times before getting it right or asking the same questions over again. I highly recommend him to anyone!

My teaching philosophy is that students learn best when they are having fun! All lessons are designed with each individual student's goals and interests in mind, so if an approach isn't working, we switch things up. With 12+ years of experience teaching students age 3 to adult through a variety of methods, I can find something that works for the casual learner and AP/college prep student alike.

Styles: Classical, Popular, Church/Religious

About Orlia
I am an experienced music instructor who has taught in Chicago, Austin, Orange County, and the Bay Area. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Music Education from Vanguard University. My earnest desire is to see each student succeed in meeting or surpassing their musical goals and expand their understanding of the world through music, the universal language. No two students learn in quite the same way, so I tailor each lesson by taking into account individual strengths, weaknesses, and interests to make learning fun!

Students will learn aspects of classical and popular music styles, basic music fundamentals, and songs/repertoire from around the world.

I look forward to sharing the joy of music with you!

We loved having Ms. Orlia as our son's first piano teacher! As a boy with special needs (Autism and ADHD), we needed a teacher with patience, energy, experience, and a passion for music. Not only does Ms. Orlia have all of that, but she helped to instill a pride and love for music in our son as well. Her knowledge of piano theory and the inner workings of the piano itself really engaged our son, and he looked forward to lessons every week with Ms. Orlia! She tailored each lesson to his interests and questions, and met him on his level each week. Anyone would be lucky to have Ms. Orlia as their piano teacher!
