Specific & clear in her instructions, open to feedback, patient and encouraging, courteous and respectful - not to mention a great singer. Looking forward to future lessons with Deborah.

I was pretty nervous about taking a singing lesson, as it's something I've never done in my life. I'm so thankful I got connected to Deborah. She's a fantastic teacher and taught me so much about how our body works to produce sounds when singing and what I am doing. From the first lesson I was already given helpful tips and ways to practice things on my own! I'm looking forward to more lessons with Deborah.

While he isn't available very much, I always try to coach with Stephen for challenging projects. He always has good ideas for how to make my scenes more interesting or funny.
Allison
Stephen is the best! He was able to turn sides I had for a short four line audition for an episodic into a taped audition that booked me the job. I try to book him for every important audition I have.

I have been teaching this subject in combination with singing. Many students forget what they are singing about because there is such an emphasis on technique. However, our ultimate goal as performers is to tell a story. One must react to the music or text as they are portraying a character in a story.

"My daughter took 10 acting sessions with Jennie - the first one was in person and the rest were over skype which worked perfectly! Jennie started each session with warm-up activities to 1) break the ice and 2) to learn how to deal with nervousness (breathing/relaxing techniques). Each session consisted of singing and practicing a monologue. Jennie suggested a book on monologues and my daughter chose one she liked. Each session they worked on expressing the emotion that was being expressed in the dialog. They broke down the feelings being portrayed and practiced different ways to express the emotions. Jennie was SO supportive of my daughter. Her lessons are going to be VERY helpful to my daughter when she goes to try out for the spring musical next year. We are planning to sign up for more lessons prior to auditions as a refresher! I highly recommend her."

"A truly gifted instructor. I came to Jennie with zero acting experience. She was able to patiently and carefully guide me to focus on my scene and most importantly how to RELAX and let the scene flow. Her knowledge of acting techniques and tips is unparalleled. She teaches you how to look at the scene as a whole and truly understand what your character is feeling. I highly recommend Jennie to anyone who is interested in learning more about acting."
