I have been teaching guitar for the past 10 years. I really enjoy teaching guitar and seeing my students learning and enjoying it too! I use a book that I really like but of course I add other materials when I think it is suitable for my student. Each student learns differently so I adapt to his learning style and to his needs.

About Soraya

About me, I have been playing the guitar for more than 20 years. I studied at the Conservatory of Music in France. In San Francisco, I studied and played with many great jazz musicians and teachers. I have also studied theory/ composition, electronic music, and voice. I hold an MA in Education.

I've been working with Soraya for over two years. My experience with taking lessons from Soraya has been a wonderful journey of self discovery as well as learning an amazing instrument. My schedule is quite busy and I also have a 10mo old so I don't have a lot of time to practice. However somehow Soraya's teaching technique keeps me moving forward during every class. We meet once a week and I am always excited for my lesson. Sometimes it has been really challenging to learn new chords and yet she is always patient with me and curates the lessons if she sees I need more time on something. Now I am learning a new song that I picked out and it's been so much fun. I highly recommend Soraya and her knowledge about music theory is an added bonus.

This teacher never showed up to my appointment. Her phone number was disconnected.. so much for buying 10 lessons in advance.

"Bettre than I expected

Richard knows guitars inside and out and he teaches you effectively and efficiently. He focuses on your weak areas and gives you encouragement during those tough moments when you are struggling a little. He tells you his early years at learning guitar and tells you his mistakes and makes sure you don't do the early novice mistakes. He can accelerate your learning curve. You as a student, have to put the time an effort....but he focuses your lessons to get the most out of it. Think of Richard as your personal trainer for your guitar, slick guitar rifts in 90 days."

"I have learned more with David in a month than I have in various attempts to learn the guitar on and off over the past 20 years.
He has a comprehensive approach and yet it keeps me interested and makes me really want to practice.
He is also teaching my 11 year old son and had captured his imagination too.
Furthermore he comes to our home and is a Luthier to boot! Setup both our guitars to the point where I kid you not they both sound SO much better.
I cannot recommend David highly enough."
