Having performed in musical In musical theater professionally and having a son who has had principal roles in Broadway musicals for 22 years, I am well aware of all the elements necessary to develop and produce a voice for Broadway singing. I was trained as a classical and opera singer, which gave me the ability to project my voice while dancing and moving on stage. I work with students to develop good breath control with diaphragmatic breathing. I encourage the learning of sight reading . . . especially valuable When auditioning.

About Patricia
As a child I watched from the doorway as my older sister took her piano lessons. From that experience I taught myself to play the piano. My formal training came in college where I received my BA in Applied Music in piano and voice. I studied classical music and opera from a visiting professor from Peabody Conservatory, Baltimore MD. I graduated with honors and gave my Town Hall performance in the Spring of my Senior year. I had a passionate desire to be involved in music, to hear it and to perform it. I spent several years singing with the San Diego Opera Company, performing lead roles in Musical Theater and soloing in concerts from Monterrey to San Diego, CA. While still a student in college, I taught piano to children from the local community, so I have accumulated decades of teaching experience. Nothing brings me greater pleasure than
to see individuals "blossom" into their creative selves. Whether it is for a student's own enjoyment, audition preparation, recital performance or ongoing piano or voice development, I am committed to engaging you in an experience of learning and fun. It may be the biggest thrill of your lifetime!

*** Lesson Details ***
I love to have fun. For me, learning is a great source of fun. My goal is to make the process of your learning music fun while effective. I do have high standards for participation. I do not ask anything of you that I haven't done myself. I know, from many years of experience in performing and teaching, what it takes to make progress in a learning curve, Are you excited? Are you dedicated? Are you willing to jump in and get busy? I will give you the foundation of theory and technique to support your performance. I will expand your understanding and appreciation for music in its many styles and formats. No every other week or schedule as you go lessons, please.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Living room - Steinway piano, cathedral ceilings ... good acoustics.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Must have piano or quality keyboard. I definitely prefer piano.

*** Specialties ***
I was trained classically in both piano and voice, but spent many years in musical theater and singing in supper clubs, as well. I am capable of teaching most styles of piano and voice except rock and rap.

i recently came out of an audition and I sang my musical pieces better than I've ever done them before! The auditioner sat me down at the end and said he loves my voice. He said, based on how much he liked my pieces and how well I did that he would like to extend an early invitation for callbacks for the program! I really have Patricia to thank for that. She has helped me improve my voice by leaps and bounds in the time that i have been working with her and its amazing to get such immediate and rewarding results. I CAN NOT THANK PATRICIA ENOUGH! SHE COULD NOT HAVE PREPARED ME ANY BETTER AND IM SO GRATEFUL THAT I GET TO WORK WITH HER!!

She is great! It will be my 5th lesson with her tomorrow, but she has already gave me confidence in singing (at least I can get my voice out more than before without shame), being patient with me, very informative, and gives great advises.
I originally took her lesson because I had an audition for Christmas Carol, and I wanted to at least go over the song I was going to use. Instead, she gave me another song to sing for the audition. I have never been able to get in a show where singing is the main dish; however, after her advise with the new song, I was thrilled to see an email from the casting director when I was chosen to be in the show! I can never thank enough her for this. :D

I've been teaching Broadway Singing for three years and have experience performing in several professional musicals. The curriculum I use is based on the wealth of music in my personal music library that is available for students to use. Students are also welcome to bring in their own sheet music. My teaching philosophy is content-based. I like to demonstrate the songs for students, and then let them fly with their own ideas.

I have been wanting to play an instrument for such a long time, but never had the motivation to try it, until recently. Wanting to play Piano was a spur of the moment decision for me. I googled piano teachers in my area and Corinne was one of the first people to pop up. After reading all her rave reviews, I decided to give it a go. I was so nervous for my first lesson, but she made me feel comfortable and at ease the minute I walked through the door. She is educated and passionate about music. Also, she is extremely patient. I have been going to her for Piano Lessons now once a week for almost 6 months and I couldn't be happier with my decision. I absolutely, without a doubt, recommend Corinne. She's amazing!

Many people know they can sing, enjoy singing and even perform well in many environments. But there are always things that you can't hear when you're singing. Indeed, built in to the singing mechanism is something that actually partially shuts down the ear, most likely to protect it from the sometimes very loud noises emanating from our vocal chords and resonant cavities. That's why it's essential to spend time bouncing off another very skilled person who can listen carefully and objectively.
For Broadway style performers, diction, projection and drama are just some of the things that need very special attention and with the right care can be the difference between being noticed and being hired

About Andrew
British born and Educated at London's prestigious Trinity College of Music and The Royal Academy of Music, my professional musical career has spanned over two decades to date. I have performed with world renowned acts such as Sia, Dave Stewart and Horace Andy, and have been a featured recording artist on many of the worlds most famous film scores while myself having authored or co-authored over 30 movie scores.
A Suzuki violin student since the age of 3, I added piano, guitar, singing and composition during my teenage years. The Suzuki method encourages advanced aural development from very early on and this has turned out to be my strongest suit. With my ear, I have impressed some of the most notable orchestrators, composers, directors and producers in London, Hollywood and the world over. In fact, it was these on the spot aural magic tr
icks that allowed me to impress the Hollywood composer that first invited me to Los Angeles to work on my first blockbuster. That opportunity led to many years of success in the industry and some notoriety.
I have always had a passion for teaching, sharing my knowledge with others and watching other people take immense pleasure in their own achievements. I have been told time and time again that I have a very special gift for teaching and I would very much like to share it with you, whether you want to learn an instrument, musicianship, ear training, composition, hone your vocal or mic skills or learn how to arrange an orchestral piece in just a few hours!
I look forward to talking to you about your specific needs and goals and having the opportunity to help you realize them in a fun friendly and authentic atmosphere.

This is one of my favorite areas of study - the total integration of connected character work and soaring, sustainable vocal performance. We'll dig into the music itself, the important questions to answer for characterization, and how the two elements interplay through your performance.

About Ryland
Hi, I'm Ryland and I'm a professional vocal coach. If you're ready to reach your peak performance, you've come to the right place!

I work with singer-songwriters, pop artists, and theater performers not only to craft a sustainable approach to singing, but to connect with your voice and your material in a way that makes your performance unforgettable.

I have coached dozens of artists like you, seeking to develop their instrument - be that for a gig, for an audition or to develop as a singer and as an artist.

Recent credits include vocal coaching for the major motion picture musical "Crazy For The Boys" (Summer 2018), and creation and instruction of a new vocal development program for the transgender community at the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Trans*Lounge.

I received formal education for Vocal Performance from New York Unive
rsity. Since then, I have worked in nearly every angle of the entertainment industry from backup singing in a divey pub to vocal coaching and music directing a major motion picture, you name it. Understanding and coaching the artist at any particular juncture in their journey is one of the beautiful things about my job.

I'm already looking forward to working with you! - RS

Let's get you prepped for that audition or ready to kill it at karaoke next weekend! I have been singing, acting, and playing music (violin, viola) for over 18 years. My teaching technique focuses on musicality with an emphasis on healthy and safe vocal training. I have a degree in Theatre, so students have the option of working on character and acting moments with me. I'm able to teach music notation and additional music theory for those who want it, and I provide a safe space for both beginning and intermediate students who want to further themselves and take their voices higher!

About Leota
I'm a working actor, singer, and teacher in Los Angeles. I have a bachelor's degree in Theater from The University of California, Irvine, with an emphasis in Musical Theater.

While film is the focus in the city of angels, my passion for musical theater is still alive! I've performed in theater and musical theater shows across the globe, including Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. I have also trained in music improv at UCB in Los Angeles.

No matter the level, I can teach any student to be more expressive and comfortable with their voice. Each week we will work on techniques to improve voice placement, as well as proper breathing so you don't hurt your voice even when you're sick! Whether you want to improve your high range into the classical soprano or coloratura or find
your big belt, I will get you there in a healthy and safe way! (Don't worry Gentlemen, I can get you to sing high too!).

I work with students of all ages, backgrounds and levels. Many of my students are actors with no vocal background, and some of my students are classical or operatic singers who want to work on acting and expressing themselves musically for a better overall performance. Whatever your goals are, we will accomplish them!

She has a grounded honest professional approach to voice coaching, and can help you achieve both classical and modern sounds. She will find different ways of explaining what to go for if you are having trouble picking up a concept.
