About Jihye
Hello, future students!

My name is Jihye and I teach Piano and Korean language. I grew up in Seoul, Korea and currently living in LA, California. I graduated from Kyung Hee University and earned a Master's degree at the California Institute of the Arts.

I have been teaching piano for 20 years and Korean at Korean language schools. In the past, I have met many K pop and K drama lovers so I decided to share my culture and language with them.

So far I have met many passionate and enthusiastic students whom I feel very lucky to work with. I offer personalized curriculum to each of my Korean and piano students. Also, help students who prepare piano level exams such as CM, ABRSM, and SATII for the Korean language. I sometimes use clips of songs and dramas to help students who learn Korean.

Jihye is one of the best Korean teachers ever! My mother and I are learning Korean and we needed an expert and that could teach us the basics. We were total beginners until we met her. She taught us the alphabet and phrases. We are currently still taking lessons, and without doubt we will be fluent as well. She is very nice and also cares very much about our learning. She is overall a great Korean teacher and we would recommend her to everyone we know!

About Michelle
Hi! I'm Michelle, a world traveler/teacher who's here to help bring her experience and energy to students back home in California. I've taught various subjects such as test prep, English, history, and languages to students all over the world, such as China, France, and Ecuador. I've worked with students of all ages and love getting to know them to help figure out how they best learn.

I love learning languages in my spare time and practicing when I can. When I'm not looking a bit silly doing that, I'm usually reading, at a baseball game, hiking, or hanging out with friends. I keep active, making sure to run or climb a mountain when I can. However, it's equally as strong as my love for foods of all kinds.

I really look forward to getting to work with you and helping you with whatever I can!

About Roberto
My teaching experience, most of it at University level, includes ten courses over four years as an assistant professor at University of Bologna, where I was able to establish an easy rapport with both undergraduate and graduate students. My students appreciated my enthusiasm and knowledge of Italian language, and culture. I have a strong interest in Italian modern art and literature. Recently, I have been enjoying teaching Italian to adults.
I strongly believe that the most effective way of engaging my students is by giving importance to their lived human experience rather than given. Indeed, Italian is not primarily a language which takes place in the mind, although is essentially a way of being. Let's be a little bit Italian, then!

I very much enjoy my classes with Roberto. He explains thoroughly and with great humor. I am now attending my second class with him, and a number of students from my previous class are also continuing under his tutelage. That is a true vote of confidence!

Teaching and learning languages is of great interest and importance to me. I believe that learning a new language is a hugely rewarding process and can provide you with many valuable skills. During high school I developed an enthusiasm for Latin through coursework , summer camps and regional competitions. I continued my study of the Classics at Colgate University and I graduated from the University of Oxford with a Master's of Studies in Classical Languages and Literature.

Together we can enjoy diving into Latin!

I've always been an avid learner and a self-proclaimed bookworm; The Giver has been my favorite book since childhood. However, I am no stranger to struggling or just needing a bit of extra help in the classroom, and I believe this experience helps me excel as a tutor. I am involved in Biology Olympiad, Writing Fellows, Peer Mentors, Mock Trial, and I even helped found a non-profit community service organization. My main passion is research - right now I'm studying adolescent mental health. I am majoring in Psychology and Political Science at UCLA, and in my free time, I love to hike, travel, and make key lime pie!

I cannot recommend Eduardo enough!
I first booked Eduardo as a tutor through UCLA Spanish department when I was falling behind in my high-school Spanish class, but have since decided to make him my primary Spanish teacher. My comprehension, speaking, writing and reading skills have significantly improved and I am glad I found Eduardo.
He is an incredible teacher and knows how to explain difficult concepts that I never thought I would be able to understand before.

Eduardo is a wonderful teacher! I started lessons with him last year from absolute zero, and recently when I traveled to Mexico I was able to freely converse with my friends and strangers thanks to the lessons with him!
He is very well-educated and makes sure to also teach the cultural aspects of Central and South American countries. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to be able to speak Spanish proficiently within a short period of time.
