I've taught voice to children, teens, and adults in the US and abroad since 2006. My Masters degree training has afforded me the opportunity to be well versed in effective vocal techniques. My main goal is to help you to develop your own set of tools, and better understand your unique voice. Make sure to wear clothing you can move in during our sessions, and, most importantly, explore and just have fun!

About Toya

I have taught acting to small children, teens, and adults in community, private, and collegiate settings. I taught acting at the legendary Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City. My love of the arts has enabled me to study and perform in various cities throughout the US; including Los An

My background and career have never placed importance on speaking and looking objectively at myself, I wanted to improve that ability. Toya has been very patient and down to earth with me, as raw as I am, in helping me. After a few lessons I already feel confidence growing and enjoy her instruction.

I Majored in Creative Writing in College and continue to practice it every day. It's not necessarily a subject that can be "Mastered" (in my opinion), as creativity is an infinite and uncapped flow. Anyone can write from childhood to their deathbed. It the purest form of expression and it's my first love. I use it while writing songs for performing artists in Los Angeles, but that's only one of many doors that an understanding of creative writing can open!

About Amy

I’m a professional singer-songwriter, performing and recording artist. I signed my first publishing deal in Los Angeles in 2004 and spent three years studying music at the Biola Conservatory of Music. Get ready to overcome roadblocks that prevent you or your child from following classroom discussions and learning along with the class. The math skills learned early in a child’s schooling serve as the foundation for more complex math in high school and beyond. I'll make sure you don't miss a thing and that you discover the joy of connecting the dots, playing with numbers, and seeing how it applies in the real world.

I like to work with children on Math in a way that they can always check their answers to see for themselves that they indeed have gotten to the correct answer.

"Over the years I’ve had many tutors, worked with many professors and teachers, and I have to say that Marie is by far in the top 5% of all educators that I’ve seemed guidance from. I’ve taken the GRE multiple times, yet was only a few points away from my required Verbal score. I saw the reviews that Marie had and decided that she would be the best person to help me achieve my goal and I was right. She worked with me to develop a study plan based on what worked best with my schedule rather than taking one size fits all approach to my learning. She took extra steps to send my daily assignments that were challenging and helped me grow. She took time to help me get to the root cause of why I wasn’t answering questions correctly by not just moving on to the next problem just because I got it correct. She really cares. We talked constantly and she was always there when I had a question day or night. I plan to apply her methods and all that I’ve learned from her while attending the university that I was recently accepted to! Thank you Marie! Anyone seeking a truly dedicated and inspiring tutor for GRE Verbal should definitely choose Marie. Simply the best!"

"I had Jonathan for two years in high school; he taught both my Latin IV and AP Latin classes. I feel obliged to credit Jonathan for bringing my interest and abilities in the Classics to levels that I could never have reached without his guidance. When I first took his class, I had some interest in Roman history and mythology as well as knowledge of basic conjugations and tenses, but I was by no means an exceptional or particularly motivated Latin student. Magister Hills changed that. His dynamic and engaging lectures, carefully prepared exercises, and thorough feedback on papers and projects changed Latin as well as Roman history from mild interests of mine to real passions. Magister Hills was always available and more than willing to help students before and after school, as well. With his help, I was able to earn a 5 on the AP Latin exam as well as an 800 on the SAT Subject Test as a junior. Prior to having Jonathan, I probably would have laughed if you told me I was capable of achieving those scores...his teaching really did transform me as a Latin student. Tomorrow I leave for college as an intended Classics major in one of the most rigorous programs in the United States. I'm confident that Jonathan's instruction has more than prepared me for the Latin course that I will take this fall semester. I wholeheartedly recommend Jonathan as an instructor to anyone interested in learning Latin or Greek."

"I has reached out Rod at the point in which I resigned and I was expecting to get "B" in my statistics class. I was not confident and constantly struggled in responding to the test questions because I was not sure of concepts. Rod explained me concepts step by step in a very simple way also, by drawing the graphs and that everything was clear for me as visual person. He was able to answered and explained all my questions that I was well prepared and confident on my final exam. Thanks to him I gained the necessary knowledge and I ended with "A"."

"Jennifer is a wonderful tutor who not only has deep expertise in her subjects but knows how to take that expertise and help her students to become better students. The result is that her students are able to retain what is taught in various subjects. My daughter has been tutored for years by Jennifer and is an honors student. We definitely believe that Jennifer is a major factor in her success. We recommend her highly and as my daughter has matured during her time with Jennifer, she values her insight and advice as she plans to take the next steps toward college admission. We are very fortunate to have a resource in our community that not only we as parents value, but that the students themselves value too."

"Simply a Gem

Tamar is quite simply a gem. She has been working with me for the past year and has helped me completely transform my academic situation. I am a freshman in high school who struggles with ADHD. Tamar's patience and diligence in working with me is completely unsurpassed. She goes above and beyond to ensure that I not only do my work, but she breaks down the material in such a way that it caters to my unique learning needs. Tamar puts in hours of her own time, beyond active lesson time, to create tests and study guides which help give me the extra advantage I need. Tamar has been an absolute joy to work with and I would strongly recommend her to anyone. She is by far one of the most impressive tutors and individuals I have ever had the pleasure of working with."

Additionally, she honed my persuasive speech skills, helping me project my voice, talk in the correct tone of voice, maintain eye contact with my audience, and flow when I speak. I have learned so much with Ms. Arlys and made leaps of improvement in my writing and verbal presentation. She always spends time to take notes for me and during our class so I can review them and understand the key points of each lesson Ms. Arlys has with me."
