I've been teaching beginning cello for over 30 years. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play pizzicato and learn how to hold the bow. As time goes on you'll be able to read music and play simple songs. Any beginning cello book will get us started. In addition to your cello and book, you will also need rosin. As you progress, a tuner and a metronome may be helpful. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

About Linda
I have been a public school music teacher for 30+ years. I am an optimistic, enthusiastic person, who will help you learn music reading in addition to music playing. I started on piano as a young child, and studied clarinet from elementary school through college, where I focused on french horn. I have a BA in Music Education from Humboldt State University, where I also earned my teaching credential. I have taught beginning, intermediate and advanced band and orchestra, in addition to choir and jazz band. I have been music director for over 10 middle school musicals. In my spare time I enjoy my two dogs, going horseback riding, and reading.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am very friendly, and encouraging to new students. I have a lot of patience for those who are new to the study of music. I can also be more demanding for those who have lear
ned the basics and want to improve their playing. I am a proponent of teaching the basics of music reading and common musical terms. I can teach music through a variety of curricula, and will work with my students to choose a method that best suits their goals. I have a large music studio in my home that has a separate entrance, which is conducive to music making (with it's own bathroom). I accept students 8 years of age and older.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Has a keyboard, but no drum set

*** Travel Equipment ***
I prefer to teach in my home studio.

*** Specialties ***
I have been teaching band, orchestra & choir in public schools for 30+ years.

I didn't know what to expect. Linda was fantastic. I'm a beginner sax player and she worked with me to get my sounds correct. She has the right attitude for a teacher and I felt good after my lesson. I'm looking forward to my next lessons

I and my son come to the studio in the morning. It has lightened with ceiling skylight and the teacher already prepares for the lesson with music instrument and book stand, etc. Her personality is nice and joyful, and as she instructs my son first lesson for flute beginner fast but thoroughly, I found her the best teacher.

Dr. Spranza is one of the best piano teachers in the Bay Area. My two daughters take weekly lessons with her. She encourages them and empowers them to do their best. She teaches them both theory and practicals. They have participated in an informal recital and are now registered to take part in the MTAC Certificate of Merit program.

As parents, we see a big improvement in our daughters' piano playing skills. They even practice on their own, without us telling them to. All thanks to Dr. Spranza.

My teaching addresses modern challenges in cello playing, promotes an integral approach to learning, and supports practice as a result of Informed Intuition through comprehensive cognitive preparation. I have created a method Beyond the Octave which allows students the absolute freedom over the fingerboard by dealing with the extended positions and the advanced use of the thumb. Informed Intuition teaches musicians how to carve their own paths and find their voices on the cello through careful studies of the repertoire, music history, and theory, where the artistic approach to music is based on educated and intelligent choices based on a belief that music always starts from the heart; musician allow themselves to be vulnerable enough to follow their intuition, which should be rich, informed and educated. I'm teaching that there are no permanent solutions and recipes for performing but rather options to play music differently and coherently every time. I am a firm believer that ...

I had an eye opening experience taking lessons with mr. Gaydamovich. He is a fantastic teacher, who has an in depth knowledge and practical experience not only about the technique, but also about musicianship as a whole. As an incredibly well rounded and thoughtful coach, he has helped me overcome my hurdles in playing and guided me to become a better and more thoughtful musician as well as a human being.

Susanna is a great teacher.

I have never played a violin before, and she is walking me through the process with patience, clear instructions, different interesting and fun ways of explaining concepts, which make lessons flow easily. By the time the lesson ends, I can hardly notice that an hour has passed by.

It is a joy to have her as a teacher. I have had a few questions off schedule, and she has never failed to answer them promptly.
I look forward to every lesson I have with her to keep learning to play this beautiful and amazing instrument.

About Victor
My name is Victor and I have been actively teaching cello for the past 4 years. In Ames, IA I had a studio of 8 students, all ranging from different age groups and abilities. My goal as a teacher is to help you achieve your musical goals. I try my absolute hardest to create a warm and positive environment for all of my students. I understand that all of my students are different and I make sure to create individual lesson plans for each of my students. Not only will you grow as a musician and as a cellist, but I believe that learning an instrument gives us sk
ills that can be beneficial in every aspect of our daily lives. Whether you are new to the cello, picking it back up after some time off, or at a more advanced level, I hope to hear from you! If you have any questions at all, please send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you!

I have been teaching private lessons since 2008. I have performed on movie soundtracks and was a guest soloist with Hamline University Orchestra. I am certified in Suzuki Method and also teach traditional lessons. I've worked with students age 4 to adult.

You are never too old to begin! I've worked with beginners of all ages.

Playing is about so much more than just classical music and scales! Although we love scales. Scales are how we show off how fast we can play. In addition to solid fundamentals of technique and musicality, I teach a broad range of styles including folk/fiddle, pop, and movie and video game scores. You'll get to learn the music that YOU want to play!

I've been playing in symphonies for over a decade, have been principal violist and a featured soloist, and performed as a session player on movie scores. I've taught violin and viola since 2008 and worked with students ages 4 to adult. I am certified in the Suzuki Method and also teach what is sometimes referred to as "traditional lessons."

My daughter, Ada, was losing interest in her violin lessons and not making progress, so we signed her up to take lessons with Alex. This turned out to be the best decision that we could have made. Alex had excellent rapport with my daughter and was quickly finding important practice points for her to focus on. Even more important I was impressed with the multitude of solutions and exercises that Alex came up with to help my daughter get beyond her problem areas, and bad habits. On top of this, Ada was having fun, and was getting really motivated to practice. Alex’s attention to detail, excellent skill on the instrument, creativity with exercise ideas, and persistent yet friendly character were the perfect ingredients for a positive and productive music lesson experience. We would still be taking lessons with Alex if she still lived in our area for sure. (She is also an incredibly talented composer, which is a great thing for young musicians to learn about).

Alex is a truly gifted teacher. Teachers like her are rare especially when it comes to the arts. Not only does she make lessons fun but she also has the ability to put people at ease. Alex is also great at teaching those with learning differences. I Have extreme learning disabilities along with visual perceptual processing difficulties and thus have many blocks in place when it comes to learning things such as theory. No matter how long it takes me to understand something Alex is ever patient never giving up on me never getting frustrated with me. She has found many ways around many of the blocks that I have with theory. When I first began lessons with Alex I couldn't clap or count rhythm unless I had the main part. Since taking lessons with Alex I am now able to count rhythm better when I am not the main part. I would highly recommend Alex to anyone looking for a great teacher!

Hello! I am finishing my undergraduate degree at Stephen F. Austin State University. I'm looking for students in the East Texas area or online. In my 10 years of cello playing, I've had the privilege to travel to Macau and Hong Kong to play for the University of Macau's String Orchestra as well as for the European Film Music Festival, but mostly I play for SFASU Orchestra of the Pines. Please contact me if you have any questions! Happy practicing!

About Codi
Since coming to Stephen F. Austin State University, I have fallen in love with music over and over again after every rehearsal and lesson. My friends, professors, and students all share the same intense passion for music. I want to share this passion with my students. Some of my favorite pieces I've performed are Tchaikovsky's 5th symphony, Scheherazade, Tannhauser, and Symphonie Fantastique.

I believe students should always get to CHOOSE what they want to play. If you don't like a piece, you won't want to practice! It's much easier to practice when it's a piece you have a connection to. We can discuss what kind of music you like or you can play me something you've already been working on. My #1 goal as a music teacher, or as a musician in general, is to share my love for music. I want my students to enjoy their time with their instrume
nt and have fun, while creating beautiful music!

A lesson with me would begin with scales. Scales are essential to bettering yourself as a musician. For a 30 minute lesson, I would like to dedicate at least 8-10 minutes of scales. We would then discuss your repertoire, any troubling spots you've had, and how you've been handling and practicing the piece. I would then ask you to play for me and we would go from there.

If you'd like to have a one-time lesson, that is A-OK! I'd love to hear what you have to play and give helpful comments, perhaps before an audition, chair test, or competition.

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns, future students or parents/guardians of future students. If you would like a different time frame, if I am unavailable during your preferred time, please let me know and we could try to work something out that works for both of us! Thank you for taking the time to read this, I hope to hear from you soon! Remember- music is for us to enjoy. It is much easier to succeed in your cello playing if you truly enjoy the music you're playing! Even the hardest runs can put a smile on your face if you're doing something you love.
