Mr. G goes over and above to help me pursue my interests. He helped me sing through a difficult time while my voice was changing. He supports me at performances and never fails to make me laugh. Working with him has been a fantastic experience and I feel that I have grown so much.

I got in touch with Daniel so I could get back in singing shape as an adult who had lapsed - a lot! He's friendly, kind, and patient, with a clear way of explaining technique that's really helped me get it. I've improved noticeably in a short amount of time!

I cannot recommend Lee enough! I'm a slow learner and she has made me feel like the complete opposite! She really knows her stuff and can break down every little part that you might not understand in the most patient of ways. And it's helpful that she's just lovely to be around! Really happy I found her!

I've taken guitar lessons from a few teachers and Dan is the best fit I've ever had. He is very patient and does a fantastic job of tailoring lessons to individual needs. He clearly loves to play music and is very thoughtful about how he shares this knowledge in his lessons. He never fails to encourage me as a guitar player and reinforces a 'can do' attitude. His positive and calm demeanor also make for a fantastic instructor. Thank you, Dan.

So far so good. Very patient as mistakes after mistake was made. Corrected quite a few mistakes I was making so that my habits would be good habits from the start. Let me talk to myself as I messed up and complimented me when I was on the right track.

complete novice; adult student. First lesson very relaxed. Excellent blend through-out lesson of questions and information my goals and background as well as instructor's goals for me and his background. First "technical" part of lesson was manageable and care taken by Lyle to make sure I understood what was being presented. I left the first lesson feeling this would be a good fit between instructor and student

Ukulele students start with five subjects.

1) Technique is concerned with the development of the physical mechanics involved in playing the instrument.

2) Scales are a part of basic music vocabulary and building blocks of the musical language.

3) Chords are also basic vocabulary of the musical language.

4) Note reading is not required for every student. It really depends on the students' goals. However, I strongly encourage everyone learn to read musical notation, (more than tablature). Literacy in reading music is analogous to literacy in reading in our English language. Can you imagine how much smaller our world would be if we couldn't read?

5) Songs utilize the skills and concepts of all the previously mentioned subjects and are the goal of studying music. The student chooses what songs they want to play, guided by my suggestions; Jazz, rock, blues, country, bluegrass, R &B - "How deep is the ocean, how high is the sky?"

A beginning student will practice ...

"Jesse is great! I'm an old lady with no musical ability, yet he has the talent and patience to teach me ukulele!!! He is flexible with the lessons, concentrating on whatever is giving me issues that week. I love that he customizes your musical goals: I will never be Jake Shimabukuro, but I will be able to play along the next time someone says "California Dreamin' in G". I definitely recommend Jess to all the old ladies that want to learn an instrument - and everyone else! Next stop....bass guitar!"
