Always work on proper breath and vocal technique. Work on singing with a microphone. Posture and stage presence. Tips to help you feel comfortable singing in front of an audience
I have been singing and studying voice for over 25 years since I was a child! I hold a BFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. I have been lucky enough to study with some of the top teachers in the country and now I bring the experience I have gained directly to you! I am proud to share my student's vast array of musical successes. From being cast on GLEE to being accepted into prestigious performing arts academies to conquering the Karaoke scene, my students continue to motivate and inspire me.
*** Lesson Details *** Music brings me immense joy, especially singing and I want the same thing for you! We start each lesson with proper breathing technique, the cornerstone of all vocals. We move on to vocal exercises to condition the voice. Then we work on the songs that you are eager to sing!
I will use a piano when
doing vocal warm ups and conditioning exercises. Students that play other instruments and accompany themselves when performing (such as a guitar) are encouraged to bring that instrument to their lessons.
*** Studio Equipment *** Studio has piano, area for parents to wait
*** Specialties *** We will work on proper breath technique, vocal conditioning, resonance, identifying and expanding your range, note sustain, power and vocal support. I will customize every lesson to suit your needs. With proper breathing and vocal technique under your belt you can sing any style of music you love, sing to a roomful of people and feel your confidence grow!
Stephanie is always kind, always supportive, always encouraging, and most importantly, she always knows exactly how to challenge me. I've been taking lessons from her for over two years now. Since the first lesson, my range has expanded and I've grown more confident in my ability--especially in trying out new styles/genres. It's an added bonus that she's flexible with my busy and ever-changing schedule! I would highly recommend her to students of all levels.

Stephanie is an AMAZING vocal coach. Her approach is so tailored to me as an individual singer, and she is always incredibly supportive as she motivates me to work my hardest. Stephanie has helped my voice grow tremendously, expanding my range both from the bottom and the top. She has also helped me work on important dynamics of my singing, preparing me for various auditions and performances. I look forward to every lesson, as I know I am getting the best training and an opportunity to spend time with a kind, hilarious, and amazing person!

Stephanie is a wonderful teacher with the most positive attitude! I've been singing with her for over a year now, and I can really see the growth I've accomplished under her careful guidance . She has great understanding of all the different styles of music that I like to sing. Most importantly, she makes me feel at ease in her presence. I would highly recommend Stephanie as a vocal teacher for a person of any age.
We'll work on audition and performance techniques as well as singing and musicality. You'll be prepared and confident for your next audition or performance!
I have taught voice for over twenty years. I studied music at University of California, Santa Barbara, where I received my B.A. I currently work as a professional singer for various local opera companies, music theater groups, churches and temples. I am principal soprano for Opera A La Carte and have also soloed with Repertory Opera Company, Redlands Bowl Festival, Laguna Beach Chorale and Celestial Opera Company. I have worked extensively in Los Angeles schools performing musical assemblies for students in elementary and middle grades through Southland Opera, LA Opera and Guild Opera of Southern California. My teaching experience includes private voice lessons and master classes at Idyllwild School for the Arts.
*** Lesson Details *** I emphasize breathing techniques to free up the voice to expand your range and ease of singing. In
the lesson, we start with simple warm ups and vocalizes and then apply techniques to the songs you want to sing. I realize each student is different and I customize the lesson to the student's particular needs. I specialize in classical and music theater, however the basics of singing apply to all styles of music. In addition to working on breathing and technique for singing, we'll also focus on interpretation of the songs you are working on as well as how to overcome performance nervousness. Most students find that they are able to sing with more freedom, less tension and will have more confidence as they progress.
I also teach beginning piano, using the John W. Schaum series.
*** Studio Equipment *** Lessons in the main room, upright piano
*** Travel Equipment *** They need to provide a piano or keyboard if I am going to their home. I have a piano in my home.
*** Specialties *** I work on using the breath as a fundamental technique for singing. Singing should never hurt. I use a lot of imagery to achieve freedom in singing.

Thanks Fawn for another great lesson! Wow. You are the best!
I help with performance, and how to practice for a show!
I have taught private guitar, piano, bass and drum lessons since the late 70s in Salt Lake City, where I majored in jazz guitar performance, and since 1980 in Los Angeles. I make the lessons fun. Some of my students have received college scholarships and won cash prizes for music contests. All of them had fun while learning and improving on their instruments.
*** Lesson Details *** I am very enthusiastic and can teach students how to read. If they do not want to read music, they can learn to play by ear. I can also show them where to put their fingers. During piano lessons, I often accompany students on guitar and suggest a scale for improvisation, so they can play the blues. During drum lessons, I often play bass so they can learn to groove.
*** Travel Equipment *** They should have their own instrument and a music stand.
ialties *** I specialize in jazz improvisation on piano and guitar. I also teach recreational guitar and piano for adults, including classical and blues styles. I coach bass players and drummers in playing stylistically correct grooves for jazz, rock and latin music.
I have been playing and performing the drums for the past 10 years.
In a teaching situation I try and provide a relaxed and friendly environment in order to learn a students strengths and weaknesses. I want students to be able to learn at their own pace, and not to worry if they think they are not learning quickly enough.
I generally work as a for hire musician playing for various acts in the styles of rock, funk, blues, jazz, and even movie scores.
I have toured throughout California and have had the privilege to open for such artists as A Flock of Seagulls, Jennifer Leitham, Daniel Glass, and Jack Sheldon. I have recorded drums for movies including Stomp the Yard, and Obsessed; played with acts such as Big Dave LIttle, Brett Copeland, and Kenji Igus. I have played with such jazz musicians including Richard Simon and Roger
I attended the AVPA from 2006 to 2009 and have a degree in Psychology.
*** Lesson Details *** In the lesson setting I want the student to become as comfortable with the drums as possible. I like to maintain a relaxed environment, allowing the student to move at his or her own pace. This in mind, I believe the fundamentals are the most important to learn.
Students will first learn the basic hand techniques needed for accomplished drum playing, before moving on to more complex ideas behind groove, and feel. Reading music and keeping effective time will be emphasized in early lessons.
I also like to teach students that drums are a musical instrument that is typically played with other musicians. A student will learn how to play and interact well with other musicians in a variety of musical settings.
I use a combination of books for teaching including: Syncopation by Ted Reed The All-American Drummer by Charley Wilcoxon The Drummer's Bible by Mick Berry and Jason Gianni Stick Control by George Lawrence Stone I will also use various drum charts and exercises as well as the use of videos and recordings.
After 3 to 6 months a student will be able to read drum notation and rhythms at a competent level and will be able to play basic drum beats on the drum kit as well as have a basic understanding of how to play with other musicians in various styles of music.
*** Studio Equipment *** Equipment includes two drumsets, drum pads, sticks, and instructional material.
*** Travel Equipment *** Can bring drums if necessary, would prefer to bring a drum pad. Expect the student to have drums.

"I hired Danny to help me in the studio. I was recording about 3 songs I needed help with. On these original songs, I had been working on with another coac
h unnamed that had me do scales and but after hours of recording, the coach didn't know what else to say except breathe deep. With Danny in about 15-20 min, we were able to knock out my songs easily. Danny isn't your average instructor. He actually goes beyond scales. Some of my issues in were singing close to my break and certain phrases were hard to work with. Others were as basic as the way I was standing. I am impressed."

"Greg is a true craftsman and consummate performer. I can’t think of a better Bass Player I’ve had the pleasure to work with."
