About Paul
I am a firm believer in the power of music to heal, entertain, and teach. It is our first and most vital universal human language and as such, I believe we all have the ability to learn how to communicate beautifully with music to express our deepest feelings. As a teacher it is my privilege and pleasure to help you develop.

From classical violin to jazz piano my early musical education not only spanned genres and instruments but also geographically from Austin Texas to Madison Wisconsin and finally brought me to Los Angeles where I currently reside and produce and teach music professionally.

Helping you or your child reach your musical dreams in a friendly-nurturing environment is my sincere desire and obligation as your teacher. Discipline is required and to be expected, however, an overly rigid or demanding routine can do mo
re harm than good. I believe attention must be paid to individual learning styles. Therefore, as a teacher I have learned to observe carefully at first and custom tailor a practice routine with each student aimed at achieving their goals. I believe the study of music helps foster a deep level of self-confidence and self realization, which eventually leads the student to discover a portion of himself he would otherwise never know. My goal is to inspire others with this joy, which is everyone's birthright and an important key in finding happiness.

A gifted singer-songwriter of Pop, Rock, World and Reggae songs that possess that timeless quality. He has recorded with 2 time Grammy nominated producer Barry Goldberg (Eagles, Robbie Robertson, Verve Pipe, Marilyn Manson). He has released three CDs, had songs featured in compilations and in feature length film, toured North America, and taught guitar, piano, and voice both privately and in an all ages Montessori school in Santa Monica. He consistently played in a variety of bands while earning an A.A. in music from SMC and later a B.A. in Ethnomusicology from UCLA, where he earned distinction as an excellent student both academically and in musical performance. He brought passion to his performances with legends, Fransisco Aguabellas Afro Cuban ensemble, Brazilian Batucada ensemble, African-American gospel choir, music and dance of Ghana, and the Balinese Gamelan ensemble. As a member of several original LA bands, (Las Manchas, Samson Simpson, Toussaint, Mentone, Cloth and Spicy Fernandez) he has performed at world famous venues and toured North America. He co-wrote and co-produced the first EP records by Samson Simson with Ronen Navah, and also co-produced Mentone's first full-length record, "Empire" with Ronen Navah and Aki Ehara" Currently he is developing his new band, Spicy Fernandez, which has released a few singles on the internet and is getting a good buzz from Industry heavy weights.

*** Lesson Details ***
I believe in custom tailoring a curriculum to fit the students needs, while still providing them with the same basic tools all musicians need to develop in order to play well (both with themselves and with others). Obviously, some students require more structure and discipline, while others have a stronger work ethic. Some may even need a teacher that is more laid back to balance them out, but more so my job is to facilitate learning and guide. A student studying with me can expect to receive a general assessment of their skill level in musicianship, theory, and on their instrument within the first couple of lessons (or once I feel that I have experienced enough of their abilities). Based on that assessment, I will work with the student to develop a plan of small goals to work toward. Progress will be monitored weekly and larger goals will unfold naturally in accord with the students own dreams and musical ambitions. Within 3 to 6 months of study with me students will learn to play a range of simple songs, basic scales, exercises, finger positions, and have a solid foundation for listening to, and playing to rhythm.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Full acoustic upright, Wurlizter electric piano, and keyboard synths, a computer based digital audio workstation...guitars...percussion...in the front room of my house. Has a full set-up for a band.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide copies of some sheet music, a library of music books, percussion instruments, digital recordings of lessons.
I expect that they provide their own instrument, pencil, notebook, 3-ring binder for sheet music, stereo/mp3 player, CD player, etc.

*** Specialties ***
I excel at popular music genres such as pop, blues, R&B, rock, and jazz. I am also trained classically and enjoy the challenges of standard repertoire from Bach to Chopin.
I began studying music as a student of the Suzuki method. However, today I find that my own practice resembles most closely, the Kodály, Dalcroze, and Orff-Schulwerk methodologies in philosophy and application.

Paul is very talented and, a very good and patient teacher. He is prepared for the class even before you arrive at his place, and communicates his thoughts very clearly. He is ready for a challenge if you give him a random song which you wanted to practice, and he begins to play the song on the guitar without any tabs or notes, instead just by listening to it a couple of times.

He's great to work with, and I'd choose him as my guitar teacher again if I ever live in the surrounding area.

I have been wanting to play an instrument for such a long time, but never had the motivation to try it, until recently. Wanting to play Piano was a spur of the moment decision for me. I googled piano teachers in my area and Corinne was one of the first people to pop up. After reading all her rave reviews, I decided to give it a go. I was so nervous for my first lesson, but she made me feel comfortable and at ease the minute I walked through the door. She is educated and passionate about music. Also, she is extremely patient. I have been going to her for Piano Lessons now once a week for almost 6 months and I couldn't be happier with my decision. I absolutely, without a doubt, recommend Corinne. She's amazing!

In Los Angeles, Fawn is the music and entertainment industry's coach known as the one who "gets the job done." Clients have included Grammy and Oscar winners as well as vocalists and actors from The Voice, American Idol, Disney, America's Got Talent, Nickelodeon, X-Factor an
d many others. She has been producing music and vocals in the recording studio, coaching voice, piano, songwriting, rap writing, performance, studio, jazz, blues, classical, pop and artist development for the past 20 years. MTV and several others. Fawn has also sung, written and played in many different styles from Jazz/Blues to Classical to Pop to children's to Opera.

Fawn is a very fun, yet honest and straight-forward coach. She loves working with adults and children, and considers lessons a 'team effort to reach her students' goals. Being that music and the entertainment business are her career and life, she is current and relevant, yet has plenty of old school training to be well rounded and help students build a strong foundation. Music and the entertainment business are her life, and she loves helping people reach their goals and meet their dreams. She has released 5 albums, several singles, won numerous awards and worked with such talents as Grammy winners Lalah Hathaway and Paula Cole, Meredith Brooks, Vampire Diaries Kat Grahm, BT, Jeff Goldblum, Right Said Fred, Ed Townsend, QD3, Club Nuveau's Val Watson, Robbie Benson and shared the stage with Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Carol Channing, Kevin Sorbo, Pink, Joss Stone, David Guetta, Katy Perry, Moby, Dionne Warwick, James Torme', David Foster, Thelma Houston, David Pomeranz, War and countless others. Over the years, Fawn has been known to bring students into her inner circle, so they can gain more experience and exposure, taking them to red carpets, events and even putting them up onstage to perform. She remembers having piano, voice and songwriting coaches, and being frustrated in voice because instructors were not addressing issues that needed to be addressed. This is why she creates a positive and comfortable, safe environment so students can open up and progress quickly. Fawn moves straight to the heart of the matter and gets whatever needs work figured out, so students can move on to what their goals and dreams are. If you feel like you're lacking some oomph in your singing voice then Fawn is the one to see. I'm a professional musician & singer, but I always felt a little held back by my inability to really belt when the song called for it. Within twenty minutes Fawn had me singing louder and with less effort and strain than I ever had before. (as in NO strain!). I've had eight lessons with her so far and she has completely enhanced my confidence as a singer and helped me change for the better.

I had been wasting my time trying to learn vocal technique from YouTube videos and going to other vocal coaches. I'm so glad I found Fawn. I can't recommend her enough.

Fawn is easy to talk to and she brings up thought provoking topics I would have never thought to write about. We work in Google Docs so I can see as she makes adjustments and changes. I am learning more than I thought imaginable and my
songwriting is getting stronger and tighter. Thanks Fawn!

I don't quite know how to describe working with Fawn other than the fact that once you start lessons with her, you'll never want to leave. Fawn really furthers your understanding of music in general and how to play the piano. She is absolutely excellent at music and at her job. Beyond that, Fawn is a genuine, kind hearted person who will help you patiently and attentively through each and every one of your problems till you suddenly realize that everything makes sense to you! I recommend Fawn for anyone with even the slightest bit of interest in playing the piano because I assure you that Fawn will nurture that interest and turn it into a passion!

First you find your voice, then you discover your style.

Finding your voice means learning how to operate it in an efficient and effective way, without affecting it with style from the outside.

First lessons have to do with learning about and coordinating releasing a free tone, breathing, supporting and understanding how your specific voice works.

Second lessons have to do with putting all of that together and expanding on it to produce pleasing and healthy sounds from top to bottom, bottom to the top, and every note in-between.

And, of course, along the way we apply all of that new knowledge, skill and training to songs.

Advanced students keep your technique in good shape, enhance your existing technique and further hone style and presentation.

Performance. Technique. Traditional, conventional training.

I have trained singers for 40 years. Many of my singers perform semi-professionally and professionally in various settings and attend prestigious university ...

Singers--and those who want to be--need opportunities to SING! Some are ready to shine and just need training. Others need training AND encouragement in an environment that feels safe and private, while they gain confidence, which slowly effects the sounds they make, allowing THEM to be ready to shine!

I specialize in working with beginners of all ages and with students at any level who know the style or styles of music they want to explore and master. My passion is working with my students in ways that prepare them to pursue their musical interests armed with technique, music-reading capabilities, and what I call the "building blocks" of music: knowledge of functional music theory and how to use it.

"Music theory" can sound daunting, but in fact it is fascinating, at least the way I teach it, using analogies appropriate to the age of the student, from chords like different types of sandwiches (yum!) to chord progressions like the materials and equipment used to build a house.

About Teresa
A musician since age 4, Teresa's dad took her early passion for music seriously. So she respects the power that parents have to foster their children's musical lives! She notes the many stories she has heard over the years: "If someone had just supported my interest"... "If my teacher had listened to what I wanted to learn."

These stories and her own passion for music-making inform her approach. A degreed music educator and multi-instrumentalist, she celebrates and uses the musical interests of her students to move them forward. She has three grown sons, including two touring musicians. Their musical lives also influence her work with children, young people, and adults. The point is to celebrate and develop each student's unique, interest-based musical self-expression.

In her home teaching studio in Sherwood Forest, CA, 30 minutes
is the perfect lesson time for most purposes. Options include piano, voice, ukulele, beginning guitar, music reading/theory, and preparation for auditions. Teresa also conducts early childhood music sessions for 3 to 5 year-olds and is available to do group sessions.

45-minute and 60-minute sessions are also available as needed. Teresa recommends 45 minutes to an hour for audition preparation.

Teresa is an awesome teacher! She's a beauty inside and out. Aside from the fact about my son being musically inclined, she goes by the interests of my son or her students and still able to cover the important lessons he/they need to learn. She's got great rapport and very encouraging! I loved the way she said that this journey of my his is not about perfection but rather expression. I believe in her teaching strategies because my son learned so quickly and he was not pushed to learn rather inspired to learn more.

She also holds annual recitals which we got to experience during my son's early learning days with her and I'm proud of how he performed that brought tears of joy! Who does that? Loved everything about that recital and all of Teresa's efforts and service in teaching. I knew we were in the right place and found the best teacher!

I wish there were more subjects I could select to describe what Jaclyn does. She not only teaches my two boys - ages 8 and 6 - how to play piano, read music and sing, she also teaches them patience, how to work through challenges and the best way to approach concepts that are entirely foreign to them without freaking out. They also both learn a bit of dancing, too! They've both come such a long way over the few years they've been taking weekly lessons from Jaclyn and we get such joy from hearing them play. Jaclyn is also a really sweet person and so great to work with. Take lessons from her - you won't regret it!

My daughter Violet loves working with Jaclyn because she's energetic and very focused on her specific progress and goals. Violet started with her a few years ago with no experience at all, and progressed quickly to reading music, playing separate hands and then hands together on the piano. She just recently had a recital where she successfully performed the most complicated two-hand piece to date, and Jaclyn was there cheering her on. Jaclyn also pays attention to related talents, and has begun teaching Violet to sing and play ukulele, which has had an energizing effect on Violet as she sees the skills overlap. It's had a very positive effect on her attitude, and she's more excited than ever about practicing, which is all a parent can ask for! : )

Jaclyn is such an amazing teacher and my daughter is eager to not only attend her weekly piano and singing lesson, but to also practice throughout the week. Jaclyn is so comfortable working with children and is such a gifted musician, so the combination makes for very excited, motivated and proud students!

I am an experienced musician and performer with a variety of teaching skills gained over 20 years of study and action. Lessons in my studio are about so much more than just learning to sing a song or write music. Students are instilled with business knowledge, work ethic, and confidence so that they can truly accomplish whatever they set their minds to. We go deep and focus on how to develop new mental and physical habits that can help the student better express his/herself. We work hard on a curriculum that is specifically catered to the student's needs, and of course, is fun too!

I've worked with students from ages 6-65, with varying backgrounds and interests. From complete beginners to professional performing artists. All students are guaranteed to see improvement in their technical skills within the first month of lessons. Let's do this!

About Jameson
Jameson is a recording artist, songwriter and producer. He is a graduate from the University of Oregon, and holds a BA in Theater Arts, Music and Business.

He completed the classical vocal performance pedagogy and created an extended fusion technique for Gospel, Pop and Musical Theater singing which utilizes similar principals. As an actor, his training includes work with both the Stanislavski Method, Meisner Technique, Shakespeare and Lyric Performance, Clowning, Improvisation, Dance/Movement for actors, and exposure to Stella Adler, Uta Hagen and Lee Strasberg's work. Firstly, Jameson is not a voice teacher for money. I do not know anyone who genuinely loves music and singing more than him. Jameson's passion for performing is evident from the moment you meet him. His rates are very reasonable considering the top-notch quality of the lessons. He focuses on the fundamentals of releasing your authentic voice rather than specialized techniques to mimic other performers. He listens carefully to your thoughts and feelings throughout each lesson, adjusting accordingly. He challenges you to express how your body is working with your vocals after each try so that you are able to be aware of your voice outside of lessons as well. He ensures that the lesson is fun and fast-paced so that you can feel great strides in vocal improvement with each time.
Thanks to Jameson, my voice has been freed. I sing strongly, with control, and with passion any chance I get. The confidence Jameson has giving me in my singing voice is quite honestly, priceless.

"Jameson is incredible. During my junior year of high school I was not selected for the All State Choir and it devastated me. Jameson was a fairly new vocal teacher in the area and was so accommodating to me when I reached out. Under his guidance I was able to further my confidence as a singer and a performer. Jameson's focused optimism really drove me to push myself. I am so thankful for my time with him and I would recommend him to any student who is ready for the "next step" but isn't quite sure where to go."

"Before Jameson, I had tried out a few other vocal coaches that worked for semi large companies. These vocal coaches only focused on making each individual song sound good, but didn’t actually help me improve my voice at all. This wasn’t what I was looking for. However, my first lesson with Jameson was eye opening. I remember on the very first day he got me to come out of my shell and make my voice do things it hadn’t done before! I remember being amazed at the vocal range that Jameson helped me uncover and the different ways to help give my breath support; allowing my vocal chords to resonate smoothly and on key. Not only did he give me coaching in both pop and classical, but he gave me confidence in my voice and many opportunities to showcase what I had learned.
Other than the concerts that Jameson sets up himself, he also gave me an opportunity to try out for The Voice. This experience was one of a kind! It was a several day experience where me and a select few other people came to the Tabor Studio and worked on our songs together with multiple coaches to critique our voices so that we would improve for the following day when we actually got to professionally record the songs that we practiced to send to the voice! In addition to this, Jameson helped me place top 10 in the final for Portland Teen Idol, which hosted a few hundred singers. All in all, I regret nothing about my relationship with Jameson. If someone was looking for a vocal coach, Jameson Tabor would be the first person that I would point to."

My Name is Savannah V! Music is everything to me, and I want to help anybody who feels like they need a little practice and encouragement, to grow!

I have been in the music industry for about 10 years. I started out in a girl group at the age of 12. We did everything from performing, recording, to choreographing our own shows! It was an amazing experience.
At the age of 15 I left the group to start writing my own music. Quickly formed an alt rock band that I have been apart of for almost 8 years!

I've learned so much from different producers and people in the industry and I want to share my knowledge!
I was also a nanny for 6 years, so I am really great with kids! They are my favorite kind of people to work with!! ;)

My daughter loved her first lesson with Savannah. I was present for her lesson and, Savannah really helped my daughter to relax and feel comfortable. My daughter has been in a school choir for 3 years but, wanted to take her voice to the next level. She lacks confidence in herself. She has a beautiful voice. Savannah brought out the best in my daughter's voice during the lesson. They worked on a song together that my daughter chose and, by the end of the lesson I saw an amazing transformation in my daughter's voice and confidence. Savannah has a great knowledge of music and in finding your own unique style.

For the longest time I've wanted to enhance my singing abilities but have been too shy and insecure to do it. Savannah made me feel like I was in a comfortable space to practice and conquer my insecurities. On top of that, she really helped my with aspects about my voice that I wasn't even aware of! Would definitely recommend.

I'm going to be completely honest. My pitch is terrible sometimes, but Savannah is so sweet and patient with me. She is encouraging and helpful. After the first lesson I really felt like I could do it! She is an amazing singer and has truly helped my grow into my voice, I feel much more confident after my lessons with her.

Music Basics: Reading Keys on the Piano

One of those early components is learning how to read keys on the piano in sheet music, and understanding the difference between major and minor. Understanding Key Signatures The key signature is marked at the beginning of every piece of music, immediately to the right of the grand staff (the treble and bass clefs on any composition). Key sig
