With my 15 years of experience and a Bachelor's and Master's degree in flute performance, you can expect lessons from me to be the highest quality. I have years of experience teaching dozens of flutists of all ages, and I make sure to adjust my teaching to the needs of each individual student. Everybody is different, so I want to make sure students get the most out of their experience! Young beginners will begin in methods such as Patricia George's "Flute 101" series or Kathleen Blocki's flute method series, while intermediate and advanced players will have a more comprehensive approach with studies in tone development, technique enhancement, etudes, and solo repertoire.

In the few months that I've had flute lessons with Drew, I've grown so much. As a beginner in flute, I was completely scared and overwhelmed with taking band for the first time. Knowing I needed lessons, I'm so glad that I was paired with Drew. On my first lesson, Drew asked me what my goals were and I told him that it was to just simply read the notes on the page. That's all I expected to learn from him, but he taught me so much more! Drew taught me about musical expression, tone and all the little details behind flute playing. His teachings challenged and motivated me. My peers and band teacher have noticed my improvement and progress. Thanks to Drew, I can now play with confidence and poise. -Emma

I've been teaching beginning flute for over 30 years. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to assemble your instrument, make a sound on the head joint, and know where your fingers go. As time goes on you'll be able to read music and play simple songs. Any beginning flute book will get us started. In addition to your flute and book, you will also need a cleaning swab. As you progress, a a metronome may be helpful. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

Victoria is a fantastic teacher. I am an adult who picked up the flute some years ago. This year I decided to be disciplined and seek out a teacher. I started to see a difference in my ability immediately. After around 6 months I can say that I am further along than I ever thought I would be. She's respectful and a lot of fun. I returned to saxophone after not playing for years, and at the recommendation of a local player took lessons with Mike. Mike's a great player, but more importantly, he's a great teacher. He's made a study of teaching wind instruments and can really help identify technical issues. Working with Mike on improvising and jazz phrasing and articulation has been really fun and productive for me, and has improved my musicianship in other areas (I'm mostly and upright bassist). I haven't had a sax lesson for a little while, but I recently got a clarinet and I'm back with Mike. The lessons are, as always, rewarding and enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Natalie Williams is an extraordinary teacher! Even though she’s been teaching on the professional level since 2006, the love of music & teaching has been within her heart since age 13. She was my first flute teacher when I was 7. Because of her knowledge, patience and compassion to teach, I was able to excel faster than my peers. Also, because I followed her instructions & practiced daily.
Natalie also organized recitals two times per year to enable her students to build their confidence to play in front of an audience. They did an exceptional job!!
Don’t hesitate to sign your child(ren) or yourself up for a wonderful musical experience!!

Natalie has been an exceptional, patient and kind instructor. For years she has been able to steer my son in the right direction when it comes to knowing theoretical musical foundation and has even helped him solidify the necessary information that is needed to be a musician and learn it independently. Not only has she prepared him in this way but even rooted a deep love for music in his spirit.

She's the perfect instructor for any young or older student and definitely my top recommendation.
Naomi
Mrs. Williams have done a fantastic job with her students throughout the years. Not only have she helped numerous children and adults she has also held annual recitals to keep up with their progress. I recommend Mrs. Williams as a music teacher for yourself or your children, her lessons are easily taught, any questions the student has she always has an answer for them. She is very patient with her teachings, never has she rushed through any of her lessons as she makes sure her students understand before continuing to the next lesson. Make Mrs. Williams your music teacher and you will not regret it.
