Music
Jenny comes from a very musical family and started piano when she was five years old. She grew up constantly listening to her father practicing his guitar and brother practicing violin. Since then, her accomplishments include an Honorable Mention at the Korea Times Youth Music Competition. She has performed in two solo recitals and has performed biannually with the Beverly Hills Chamber Orchestra. Jenny has participated in the Frederic Chopin Felix Mendelssohn Minifest 2005 and has regularly performed at the Colburn School of Performing Arts from 2003 - 2008. Jenny was also a part of the Goldcoast Chamber Music Festival and was awarded the second prize at the Chamber Music Walker Competition. She has excellent communication skills and has worked as an assistant to the Program Coordinator at Montecito Summer Music Festival while al
so participating as a performer. In addition to her musical abilities, Jenny has received many academic honors as well. She is a member of the Agoura High Chapter of the California Scholarship and is also on the Dean’s List at the University of Southern California. She graduated from USC with a BA in Music and emphasis on Piano.

Jenny started teaching neighborhood kids while she was in high school and has continued to inspire her students throughout her academic studies. Dance
Jenny has always had a passion for the performing arts. During her years at USC, she discovered Latin dancing. She has performed, choreographed, and taught for USC's Latin dance team Break On 2 and is still involved. She has participated and performed at numerous salsa and bachata festivals/congresses.

Music
As a teacher, I try to make music learning as fun and well-rounded as possible. Every student is unique, and I try my best to accommodate every individual's needs. I encourage students to always ask questions, no matter how silly it might sound, and to trust me to help you achieve your goals. I encourage students to tell me their favorite songs and genre of music and use the knowledge to help keep them motivated, to remind them that learning is fun.

For all ages and levels, I prefer to incorporate music theory as part of the learning process. It allows the student to see the how and why, to not only feel music but also understand it. If your goal is primarily playing oriented, I will, of course, adjust my teaching style to fit your needs.

I learn something new from every student, love seeing my students improve and gain confidence in themselves. I ask that students come with an open mind and be prepared to make mistakes because no piece is perfect and neither are lessons. Lessons give you the opportunity to make mistakes without judgement. You can trust me to always have a positive attitude, it is OK to make mistakes, but practice to play better, and enjoy the feedback to see yourself improve! Learning piano does not happen in a few lessons and is a lifelong rewarding process. I hope to see you treat music with respect, so let's make beautiful music together!

Dance
I also provide choreography for wedding dances (couples, father/daughter). My main focus is on the social aspect of Latin dancing, such as salsa, bachata, merengue, and cha cha. Thus, I will only take students who are able to go out dancing to studios, restaurants, and clubs, meaning 18+ individuals or groups. Every week, I will provide new, cool, and stimulating choreography that supplements technique while developing your own unique style. I love to see my students out on the dance floor, implementing moves learned and having fun! Dancing is a healthy, joyful activity. Get ready for a confidence boost and let's get your heart pumping!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music - Upright piano and teaching/practice materials.
Dance - Music playing device, carpet.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Music - Student should have a keyboard or piano and practice related materials. Dance - Ladies should have secure, comfortable heels. Gentlemen should wear non-rubber soled shoes. Preferably wood or laminate floor. Carpet is ok but will have a harder time developing technique. Also should have some sort of stereo or speaker system, a computer is OK if it is loud.

I have recently graduated AMDA The College and Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts with a Bachelor's Degree in the Performing Arts. Currently, I am working on a second degree with focuses in Business and Sociology. In High School, I started taking College and University Courses by Sophomore year. By the time I had graduated, I had tested in and passed over 10 courses for college credit. This list included: English Language, English Literature, Spanish Language, Spanish Literature, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, AB Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology. I graduated with Honors in both high school and college. College was dev
oted to the Performing Arts side of me. I accelerated in my program and graduated with my BFA in two and a half years, whilst studying in both Los Angeles and New York City.

I have over twelve years of experience playing the flute, as well as over six tutoring my peers and younger students in academia. I spent these six years primarily helping people with what they needed help with. My prior experience was both volunteer and me being…well, me! I also have over twelve years of experience as a nanny and childcare provider. I love working with children and find that one of the most fulfilling things to see in life is seeing a child’s passion increase ten-fold as they learn more about something that intrigues them. I adore sharing knowledge and I feel that helping others reach and attain their goals has helped me to learn more about myself and what I must do to reach my own. I have dedicated my young life to immersing myself in the arts and pursuing knowledge. I feel like I can help you learn in fun and amazing ways that you have never thought of before. :)

Lessons (in the pupil’s desired focus) will begin with a small look at how each student operates. Everyone learns differently! Lessons will then expand into fun and in depth sessions as I help each student find what exactly it is that intrigues them most. This will be accompanied by ironing out the wrinkles of the more complicated things. Lessons will always end with a laugh and a smile!

No matter what it is you decide to tackle, you can learn it. There is absolutely nothing that you can't learn. I'm here to help you!

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons in each of my specialties will be run a little differently. Here are the general breakdowns for lessons that I will run:

Flute Lessons: In these lessons, we will begin with a warm up and then a review of what has been learned in the previous lesson or more of the fundamentals that may have not been learned yet. After this segment, we will continue to push forward with correct technique and musicianship. The end of the lesson will be devoted to giving things to work on as well as something fun that will be learned before you are dismissed.

Academic Lessons: In these lessons, we will recap what we have talked about before as well as explore what I have most recently given the student. We will then meticulously go through the lesson to make sure that you comfortably understand. To conclude, we will make sure that all questions are answered as well as make a plan of action for the next lesson.

Acting Lessons: In these lessons, we will have a productive and interactive warm up. As soon as you feel ready we will tackle your project. I will teach you beats, arcs, break downs, and make sure that you know and can react to what is happening in your piece. You will have an amazing time and I promise that you will go away with a little more insight than you had when you came in.

*** Travel Equipment ***
The only lesson type that requires any equipment is the Flute lesson. I will bring a music stand, my own personal flute to help the student mimic things that I will show him/her, as well as the books that I will help train him/her with (if you have your own personal books you would like to use, we can use those as well). I still do expect the student to have his/her own flute. For all other lessons, no travel equipment is necessary. We are going to have a blast!

*** Specialties ***
My upmost specialty in teaching is Flute. I train beginner and intermediate students how to play, read music, create musicality, and help prep them for competitions, recitals, and other performances. I have personally been playing the flute for over 12 years.

My next specialty is helping tutor and teach academic subjects. I will help mentor you or your child to get better grades in school in the subjects mentioned above. I help teach beginner and intermediate students.

My last specialty is helping coach acting. I have received my BFA in Performing Arts and love acting and theater. I specialize in helping beginner and intermediate students prep for auditions and learn about the art of theater itself. I will help with techniques as well as personal coaching.

I've had 3 classes with Kelly and they've been great. Her method is fun, engaging and I look forward to continuing. I've tried several self-study options without success, whereas Kelly's teaching methods keep me engaged. She uses techniques I didn't know existed and I'm not just memorizing pages of words. As an adult learner, I have finally found a great option to learn Spanish.

A native of Russia, she appeared on the stages of the Bolshoi Opera (Maria in Mazeppa, Prilepa in Pique Dame, Brigitta in Iolanta, Anne Trulove in The Rake’s Progress, Musetta in La Boheme, to name a few), Kazan Opera Theater (Mimi in La Boheme), Stanislavsky Opera Theater (Micaela in Carmen), and Malmo Opera Theater in Sweden (Musetta) before emigrating to the U.S.A., where she appeared with Hawaii Opera Teater as Mimi in La Boheme, San Francisco Lyric Opera in title role of Aida, West Bay Opera and DiCapo Opera in New York in the title role of Manon Lescaut, Opera San Jose and Illinois Opera Theater as Tosca, and with Cedar Rapids Opera, Gold Coast Opera,Golden Gate Opera and Opera North as Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly, with San Francisco Opera Merola Program and Tampa Opera as Musetta in La Boheme. In autumn of 2009 she appeared in Cairo as Tosca and, in spring of 2010 debuted it Italy at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo as Carlotta in Schreker’s Die Gezeichneten, where she returned following summer in the title role of Aida. From 2006 till 2010 Olga performed with touring company Teatro Lirico d’Europa all over United States in multiple performances of Madama Butterfly, Tosca, Aida, Carmen,La Boheme, Turandot, Le Nozze di Figaro, I Pagliacci, Cavalleria Rusticana. Olga appeared in title roles with local opera companies like Opera San Jose (Tosca),;; West Bay Opera (Manon Lescaut, La Forza del Destino), Livermore Opera (I Pagliacci), Martinez Opera (Madama Butterfly), Golden Gate Opera (Madama Butterfly, Suor Angelica, I Pagliacci, Cavalleria Rusticana), San Francisco Opera Company (Aida)
Olga appeared with Orchestra Sinfonica Romana at the concert stage of Santa Cecilia in Rome and Washington Center for the Performing Arts in Verdi Requiem, Quatar with Gala concerts, Opera Santa Barbara in an evening of music by Giocomo Puccini, DiCapo Opera (Rachmaninoff’s Francesca da Rimini), in Russia at the Nizhny Novgorod Concert Hall for Bach’s Mass in B-minor, at the Grand Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory for Mahler’s Sympony No. 4 and for Orff’s Carmina Burana, Moscow’s Cathedral Catholic Church for Bach’s Easter Oratorio, as a featured soloist for both the Notti Musicali Modenesi Festival and Costa Rica’s XIII Festival de Musica Credomatic; and as a featured soloist for the political-cultural event entitled “Days of Russian Culture in Bulgaria, jointly sponsored by the Russian and Bulgarian Ministries of Culture and attended by the presidents of both countries.
In 2002 Olga participated in San Francisco Opera Center Merola Opera Program for young singers and sang Musetta with Western Opera on tour.

Currently Olga devotes herself to voice teaching and performs locally."

As a college student myself, I definitely understand the stress, anxiety, and frustration that goes into preparing for an exam. I've worked with first year college students and elementary students on overcoming that anxiety to improve confidence and preparedness. Students can expect validation with their testing struggles, a reflective conversation in regards to what they're already doing and how each strategy works for them, and suggestions on how to prepare more efficiently for their tests.

Hi! My name is Sara and I'm a college student attending Brigham Young University in Provo. I love learning and getting to experience lots of different things! My favorite things are people and music, and for that reason I am currently studying as a sociology major with the intent to work in nonprofit helping children after I graduate! I currently work at BYU as a Peer Mentor where I meet one-on-one with first year college students to assist them in developing time management skills, effective study strategies, and test-prep skills. I worked at a daycare for a year where I ran a homework club for the elementary school students enrolled in the daycare.
