In teaching lessons, it is my great pleasure to share with students of all ages and skill levels the knowledge that I've gained over 27 years of playing. I firmly believe that anyone can learn anything at any time, given the proper tools!

In our first lesson, we will determine your musical goals and create a realistic path to achieving them. It's my job to help you along this path while keeping things fun.

To maintain focus and week-to-week continuity, I always provide lesson notes to take home. I can also provide recordings of lessons and transcriptions of pieces, if desired.

About Elias

At 5 years old I was struck by the incredible beauty of Vivaldi's music, and ever since I've been playing violin. I hold a BA from Oberlin College of Arts and Sciences, won a scholarship to the Baroque Performance Institute in 2005 and attended the BPI again in 2006. Apart from teaching, as a profes

Elias is the best! Such a knowledge and passion of music. He has been my sons guitar instructor going on 5 months. My son has learned so much and always enjoys and looks forward to his lessons. My son is is not only learning guitar but violin as well from him. Fantastic instructor A+

I am very impressed with Elias! He listened well, offered helpful suggestions, laughed and was very congenial to work with. We discussed how to hold a bow and, since I have some arthritis in my hands, he was very open to other possible options that might work better for me. Taking lessons from him will be a bright spot in my week. I would recommend him in a heart beat!

A fun and informative lesson. Looking forward to the next one.

Hello! I'm a professional violinist/violist with over 20 years of playing experience. I started on viola at the age of 10, and began studying violin as well when I got into college. I have since performed all over the U.S, and internationally, even having the opportunity to perform with stars such as Lady Gaga and Imagine Dragons, and performing for U.S. president Jimmy Carter! From making appearances with orchestras as a featured soloist, to holding residencies on some of the biggest properties on the Las Vegas strip as a cover artist, to performing for major events such as Latin Grammys and Tedx, to touring the country playing country, jazz, and rock music, my broad range of experience can help any student, beginning to advanced, accel in their craft.

I studied music education with an emphasis on viola/violin performance at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where I received a Bachelor's degree. Aside from a background in classical music, I have extensive knowledge in many genres

About Rahmaan

I first picked up the viola when I was 10 years old in sixth grade orchestra class, and I haven't put it down since. While most professional musicians were certain of their career paths from a young age, I had no plans to pursue music professionally, until an opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall

There is a potential in every person to be truly great at any one thing. All it takes is hard work and honest determination, with determination being the most important. Because where determination comes, hard work follows naturally.
I hope to inspire my students to really love making music and being creative with their instruments. I can give my students all the information in the world and tips on how to improve at violin playing, but in the end it will not matter if the student has no desire to improve. And that is why I love to teach- inspiring students to love what they do!

About Abigail

Abigail Tsai  received a Bachelors of Music from the Eastman School of Music, where she was awarded a Performer's Certificate. At Eastman she studied with Professor Oleh Krysa. She is currently pursuing her M.M. in violin performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music under the tutelage of Ilya Ka

I love Abi’s class!! She is a great teacher and easy to work with. She is also very flexible to teach anything that you want to play. One of the best thing of her class is she always send you a class note after each class, which is very helpful for you to review and remind you what you’ve learned or tips from the class! I highly recommend her!

Abigail is a amazing teacher! Even though we were learning through online she made it fun and educational. She explained and gave examples that helped me understand and look at things in a different ways. She is very easy to talk to, kind, and funny person. Like I said I was learning with her online and l would absolutely want to work with in person.

I began violin at the age of 12. I was immediately in love with it at 11 after hearing my best friend play for our school band. After traveling to Branson, MO, I returned home with my first violin just after turning 12. I played in my many youth orchestras including the Bloomington Youth Symphony, Terre Haute, Columbus and my highschool orchestra. I teach Suzuki style using a variety of method books. I teach ages 5 and up. Learn proper bow hold. Violin requires good intonation and solid technique both of which I ensure each of my students follow from the beginning.

About Sara

Hi! My name is Sara. My studio began in 2000, teaching one violin student here in Bloomington. After I moved to California I became a freelance harpist. I performed with many orchestras and performed at Capital Records for the Stan Lee Documentary “With Great Power, The Stan Lee Story”. I starte

Leanna is incredible. She's kind and patient and extremely easy to work with, which is rare for someone with such deep experience in a field. One thing that continued to stand out and amaze me is her unbelievable ear. Even in remote sessions via zoom, she could tell immediately if one note in a chord or progression was off, and helped me fix it. I've heard the same from other students of hers.

If you're a serious student, considering music as a career, or in any competitive sense, Leanna is an irreplaceable ally with the skill to push you further than you may have thought possible. Absolutely recommend.
Zachary
As a beginner, taking lessons with Leanna has offered a structured approach to learning the fundamentals of piano, along with developing good technique, which has made the process less daunting. After only a couple of lessons, I feel more confident not only in my playing, but also in understanding elements of music theory (like reading sheet music) that I expected to be more difficult to grasp.
Sonya T.
Excellent goal-oriented teacher! Leanna is able to provide effective feedback and instruction to an advanced student like myself. I was impressed with the detailed coaching provided in the online environment.

I have 19 years of experience playing the violin, and have cherished every moment. Playing music is one of the most powerful and emotional experience an individual can have, and my goal is to help you along your musical journey wherever it may take you. I have taught ages 7-70, and am passionate about a variety of genres though my core training was in classical. I have worked with students in all stages of development, whether picking up the instrument for the first time or preparing for college auditions or international competitions.

Lessons will always be tailored with YOUR goals in mind, and I strive to make sure you come away from every lesson feeling excited and musically and intellectually stimulated.

I spent a number of my formative years studying violin remotely, long before the pandemic brought students to online platforms. I believe that online learning is just as good as traditional in-person instruction, without rigid schedules or geographic barriers.

Looking forward

About Kiarra

I have a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a Master of Music in Violin Performance from McGill University. I have soloed with numerous orchestras, such as the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Arlington, Garland Symphony, Charleston Symphony Orc

"Nick is really a great violin teacher. Our son was playing violin in school orchestra, but we decided to also supplement with private lessons and we're glad we found Nick on here. We have been coming to Nick's home studio for about a year now. Nick keeps our son engaged and continually interested in practicing during his lessons. He's patient, sometimes funny when our son needs a laugh, and ensures our son stays on task, as he can be a handful sometimes. We would whole-heartedly recommend Nick as a violin teacher."
