Basic Italian vocabulary, grammar and diction.

About Bridget
I have been a professional voice, music theory and piano teacher for the last ten years, and have loved every minute of it. I am originally from Canada, and went to the University of Windsor to study vocal performance. I was given an opportunity to the study principals of classical singing and musical theater. From there, I began to work as a featured classical soloist and choral singer throughout Canada. I came to New York to continue my studies, and earned a Master of Music degree in Classical Voice from the Manhattan School of Music.

I believe that singing lessons should be a lot of fun. With good technique, my students and I can team up to accomplish anything from singing classical songs and even some opera arias to popular songs and musical theater. It is my goal to help you discover your own personal voice, and build confidence
in your individual gifts. My students have gone on to study voice in college and university, perform in musical theater, sing in rock bands, children and adult choirs and even win a competition or two. I love hearing my students perform, and feel that an opportunity to sing in front of others builds confidence and ability. I take pride in arranging recitals for my students who would like this opportunity.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons with always begin with warm ups and technique. We'll also focus on an important principal topic, such as breath and support, vowel placement or expression. We'll use some exercises that I have already, or perhaps a new one just for your needs (once I get to know your voice) to help you achieve our goals. We'll then work on 1-2 songs. You'll probably have picked one, and I may have picked one. The concept that we worked on in our technique session will be applied directly to the songs you are working on. You can learn so many different things in each song, we may practice your songs, using a different goal in several different lessons.
All of my students get a chance to perform in occasional "vocal class" settings, where you can sing your favorite songs for one another, in a fun, laid back environment. All students are welcome to participate in an annual recital for their family and friends too! Piano lessons are designed to suit your needs. We can work on the basics for classical playing, read chords, jazz improv and more.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have my own music studio set up in my apartment. On teaching days, my living room can be a comfortable waiting room for parents/guardians. You are all most welcome to relax, have a cup of tea or coffee and listen to our lessons. I do ask that you do not sit inside the studio (at least not after the first lesson) as this can be distracting for your child. My studio is equipped with a music stand, upright piano, work sheets for theory, pencils and crayons. I also have a full Broadway and classical music library that students can borrow from, CD/DVD's that can be borrowed, and a New Grove Reference set.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I bring some music, until we assess the student's needs, then they may buy some books, while I provide the rest. I bring theory worksheets, stickers, pencils etc. If a student would like to sing/play a particular song (Broadway/pop etc) I may have it in my music library. If I do not, the student will need to purchase the music they would like to sing. The student would need a keyboard/piano in their home should I travel. I have a piano in my home.

*** Specialties ***
Classical singing, Musical Theater, Jazz, music for young children, pop singing, audition preparation, beginning music for adults.

About Clifford
'Dr. Cliff,' a part-time college/university professor, teacher and tutor with 5 master's and 3 doctoral degrees in a variety of topics: Mathematics, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, MBA, Leadership, Education and Administration. He has always used proven educational techniques to instruct undergraduate students, graduate students and school children/teenagers (K-12). Dr. Cliff believes that, although many professors and teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, many students
and children do not learn well in traditional institutions. Many students and children don't respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a student's or child's strengths and natural abilities need to be the foundation of learning. Dr. Cliff often warns against a "cookie cutter" approach to educating students, teenagers and children. You or your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. Therefore, individual one-on-one tutoring or help is the key approach to each student who has any challenges difficulties in a given subject.

In today’s environment and economic challenges, with shorter budgets for the education, larger classes sizes and pressure of performing well in all kind of standard tests, I often see many students lacking true knowledge and skills in a given subject, since they cannot get individualized attention during the class session. That’s where a tutor comes into the picture, not only uncover major “holes” in students’ knowledge set but also teach students how to study, how to learn and through proper guidance “fill” those knowledge and skills holes.

Hey everybody! Hola and Ni Hao. My name is Mark and I'm a Language Tutor, Yoga Instructor & Organic Farmer with an International MBA and minors in both Spanish and Mandarin. With over 20 years of foreign language study, and 10 years teaching foreign languages to others, I know exactly what works and what doesn't when it comes to learning a new language.

I recently moved to Aurora, CO in order to be closer to my family since I have spent the past 12 years traveling the world.

I am a certified K-12 substitute teacher in the state of Colorado, and am in the process of obtaining the credentials to teach Spanish full-time K-12. I have the flexibility to work with you around your schedule and will create a customized lesson plan that fits your needs and unique learning methods.

My main requirement of you as a student is to be comm

I have taken lessons with Ronald since I was 6, I am now 23. In my 17 years of taking lessons I have learned to play piano, sing and am proficient in music theory. In the more recent years I have even had the opportunity to teach music through Ronald. Throughout the years, I have experienced and witnessed the patience and kindness Ronald consistently shows his students. He encourages his students to become better and shares in their enthusiasm due to their accomplishments. Ronald genuinely cares about his students and is dedicated to making sure his students improve. I fully recommend Ronald for students who have parents who want to be involved in the learning process and especially for young children who are just starting out. Ronald works well with families, includes parents every step of the way and is very patient with young students helping them learn in an open and encouraging environment.

My whole life I was drawn to Italy since my father's parents were born there, and I always wanted to learn everything about that side of me, especially the beautiful language. In spring 2005 I studied abroad in Florence and rapidly became fluent, and in fall 2005 I returned to Florence University to study Latin literature with other Italian students.

Thanks to my father who speaks Italian, I could converse before I arrived in Florence, but many students who came after me were not so lucky. When I returned to Lehigh University in 2006, budget cuts had forced the cancellation of the Italian language program, despite the high volume of my fellow students who annually go to Florence. Awful though this was, the Study Abroad Department hired me to teach Italian night classes at Lehigh for my remaining two years in college, permitting a hundred students to study abroad in Florence with basic Italian language skills. Since 2006 I have also tutored dozens of students one-on-one.

I ...

About Luke
I am deeply passionate about sharing knowledge with others and have been lucky to be teaching my entire adult life. There are so many enriching experiences available to us when we learn more about the world.

Foreign languages are among my favorites, and I have specialized in teaching Latin, Italian, and Japanese. As a geologist, I am also profoundly interested in the sciences. When I teach I like to understand where my students are coming from, what really inspires them, and help them to enjoy and love what they want to learn. For me, learning is always fun, so whether you like to study or you are having trouble motivating yourself to concentrate, together we will discover the joy and fun in what you are studying.

I am a native Italian speaker who has lived in Italy until I moved to the US for my undergraduate degree. I have been living in the US for the past 10 years and returning to visit my family and friends in Italy several times a year.
I believe learning Italian with me will be fun and effective because aside from my first language which is Italian, I speak several different languages and I know what learning a foreign language entails.

About Natasa
I am a native Italian speaker that moved to Southern California a few years ago for my University degree and decided to stay and build a life here. I love living in the US but I also miss my country and my family and I enjoy connecting with people that want to learn or improve their knowledge of the Italian language.
I also have a 2 year old daughter to whom I speak only Italian and it has been a fun process so watch her learn and now speak to me in my own language.
I customize my teaching sessions based on the student's goals and current language proficiency to maximize their time and efforts and get them speaking Italian step by step.
