I have seen Hollyn teach students from age 4 to 22. She is unfailingly respectful and always has the student's best interest in mind. She takes a holistic approach and does identifies mental AND physical issues that may need corrected for optimal achievement to occur, and then she helps the student fix them in a positive and productive way. She is particularly skilled with dealing with performing anxiety or physical pain while playing and will soon help the student overcome any such problems. She has a great personality and sense of humor and the lessons are never boring, never repetitive. She has a great training in both musicianship/performance and pedagogy.

Hollyn is a fantastic instructor. I’m always so impressed with the variety of exercises she walks my son through in a 30 minute lesson. She includes ear training, sight reading, the mastery of scales, and practicing a new piece of music all in one lesson.
