What I Learned From Peter.

- THE METRONOME IS SO IMPORTANT
- The voice guides the guitar if you’re more of a singer
- Repetition is key
- Practice songs that aren’t in your style to ease your way into guitar
- The power resides in strumming rhythmically
- Focus is more difficult that it seems when combining singing and guitar
- Guitar is an art in itself and itself you shouldn’t master guitar, you should be it’s friend.
- Open mics and video content are the key to more success as they expose you to criticism (good or bad)

"A good musician is not necessarily a good teacher. Most musicians do not know how to teach, period.

A good music teacher not only knows how to perform on his/instrument well but knows the art and technique of imparting the knowledge. Those are two totally different skills.

Ray is one of those rare guys to come around who has both skill well developed: he is a great musician, a great pro drummer who knows how to put himself in the student's shoes and thus can impart to the student exactly what the student needs in order to make progress.

"I started lessons with Bobby about 2 years ago as a total beginner with an awful case of performance anxiety. I'd never picked up a drum stick in my life, but decided on a whim that I wanted to play along with my favorite rock songs. The first song I wanted to learn was by Motley Crue, and without any hesitation whatsoever, Bobby walked me (the complete novice, mind you) through Tommy Lee's crazy-tough grooves and fills. "WE LOVE OUR DRUM INSTRUCTOR! My son was an extremely high energy very distracted five year old when we started lessons with Mr. Al. Let's just say that my son is not an easy student, but our son had already developed an obsessive attachment to music, most intensely to drums. We expected someone would be able to teach him drums, but we also got someone who is patient, flexible, understanding, and always respectful and kind to our son.
