I will develop and strengthen rhythm, music pitch, melodic and harmonic sight reading, articulation, and proper piano technique.

About Michelle
I am Certified Beginning Piano teacher as well as an intermediate level teacher. I studied piano at Cerritos College of Norwalk, CA with an emphasis in piano and completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with a focus in percussion from CSU Long Beach. I currently teach private and have taught classroom lessons for piano. I have consistently taught piano since 2002 to students ages 5 and above.

I have traveled the world to perform and teach music. I have been to Brazil to study samba and its many different styles through the World Percussion Program of CSU Long Beach in 2006 and 2007. In 2012, I traveled to Colombia and Venezuela to perform with the band of Terratour, a humanitarian group. My close friend and I performed his inspirational and encouraging music. We collaborated with local musicians in local venues. I have alwa
ys admired traveling and performing live, and Terratour was the best opportunity to do so.

You may have notice I'm a Carpenters fan! I sing, play piano and drums. The Carpenters are my musical inspirations and that's exactly how I perform- with passion and tender, love, and care. I was once the other musical half of a Carpenters tribute band, Close To You. My friend and I learned many of the Carpenters tunes and collaborated with vocals, piano, steel drums, drums and other percussion. We have disbanded, but even before forming the band, I was always singing and playing drums/piano simultaneously on my own and still continue to.

I am available for online, in-home, or in-studio lessons. If your child younger than 5 can count to 10 and knows the alphabet, then I would be happy to add him/her to my roster. If you want to develop your talent, I can do that with you. You have all the ability and power to learn and be great- I'm just going to guide you all the way to your goal.

Please notify me of the special need prior to booking lessons so I can accommodate.

Learn the basic fundamentals as a beginner: note reading, good posture at the piano, ear training, playing by ear, improvisation and making music out of the notes.

More advanced students will learn musical expression, phrasing, technique for ease of playing and how to be a better sight reader.

About Katarina
I have four years of experience teaching all ages, from age 4 to eighty. Since that time, I have taught over 50 students and can teach all levels and abilities. I also do ABRSM testing preparation. I can teach either at a student's home or at my studio. I have a passion for music that I want to share with my students.

I graduated in 2017 with my Bachelors in Music from UC Irvine. I studied with Nina Scolnik, a Juilliard graduate and an outstanding piano pedagogue. I recently received the Tierney Scholarship at UCI. I was accepted the Master's program at CSU Fullerton, which I will begin in Fall 2018.

I transferred from Pasadena City College where I was a top student in the program, winning several music awards, including the Piano Accompanying Award, Robert Westerbeck scholarship, Honors in Music, Freshman Honors, the Old Tow
n piano competition, and Dean's Honors.

Do you wish you would of taken piano lessons when mom and dad offered to pay for them? Are you envious of people that can sit down at a piano and spontaneously entertain? Do you have musical ideas in your head but aren't sure what to do with them? If you think that your time has passed to learn piano, you are wrong, and I'd love the chance to prove it to you. Using my method which incorporates music theory and your musical goals, I guarantee you will be playing songs in no time, creating a base of knowledge that will help you play everything from Bach to the Beatles. Thank you for your consideration, and best of luck on your musical journey.

nia. Brass Pacifica is on the teaching artist roster of The Los Angeles Music Center and the Orange County Performing Arts Center and has performed at hundreds of schools for thousands of students.

Having been part of a band, Klaviam, for over 12 years, I have the technical skills and knowledge of not only the piano, but also a wide array of other instruments as well, such as the guitar, drums, and bass. My music is highly diverse as well, so I can teach my students everything from classical to heavy metal.

My foremost philosophy in teaching piano is following the student's goals and dreams, not mine. While curriculum work is certainly vital, it is far more important that my students receive help they need in accomplishing their biggest aspirations in music. Whether you want to be a music composer, rock-star, or just playing for your loved ones, I can bring you closer to that goal.

About Alec
-=Overview=-
I currently work as a video-game and film composer, so pairing my main career with teaching piano is a perfect marriage. I would be happy to discuss the techniques behind music creation.

Music has always been my passion throughout my life. I don't think there has been a day where I haven't engaged in music in some way. Teaching others how to experience this level of passion brings me the upmost joy in my life. There is nothing I would do else than sharing my knowledge of music.

-=What are your current rates?=-
Standard Lesson Plan: $25 for 30 minutes. The day's lesson will include practical warm-ups, going through the curriculum, and finally, learning a song of the student's choice as the end.

Premium Lesson Plan: $33 for 40 minutes. In addition to the previous activities, I will also teach the basics of creating y
our own songs. I will demonstrate the techniques used in song creation, the rules, and how to break the rules if necessary.

-=What is your typical process for working with a new student?=-
I will first go over with the student the days and times for our lessons. After a sufficient schedule has been laid out, I will listen to the student's needs and goals he wants to accomplish. I will personally adjust the curriculum and session time to fit the student's requirements.

-=What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?=-
I have been a music composer for the past 3 years, part of the band Klaviam for over 12 years, and have played the piano for even longer. I have been instructed by wonderful and experienced tutors in both piano and compositional skills. I am also familiar with digital audio workstations (DAWs), and can instruct students should they want to pursue that area.

-=What types of students have you worked with?=-
Mostly 6-18 year-olds, but I have also instructed younger children, as well as adult beginners.

I have played piano for 12 years and trombone/euphonium for 7 years. I am comfortable teaching children music in many settings. My approach to teaching is to create a situation in which the student is presented with information in such a way that is both easy-to-understand but also fun and interesting, especially for younger students. It is important to me to always gauge the student's understanding of the concept at hand and provide them with frequent opportunities to ask questions specific to their needs, so that they understand all material. Furthermore, I emphasize giving the student strategies to practice and learn on their own, so that they can also grow independently outside of the lesson time.

About Lauren
I recently graduated from Etiwanda High School on 22 May 2018 with Summa Cum Laude Honors, and will now be pursuing a Music Performance degree at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach. I passed my ABRSM Grade 8 Piano Exam with Distinction, which is the last level of exams.

I have had a beginner piano student for 3 years, as well as several trombone and euphonium students in that time. I was also the Co-Teacher for the Freshman Concert Band at my high school for 2 years, as well as a Section Leader, Brass Captain, and Leadership Coordinator.

I was a member of many gold-medalist ensembles at my school, several honor bands such as the Pasadena City College Tournament of Roses Honor Band and The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps, and I also work as a piano accompanist.
