'Dr. Cliff,' a part-time college/university professor, teacher and tutor with 5 master's and 3 doctoral degrees in a variety of topics: Mathematics, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, MBA, Leadership, Education and Administration. He has always used proven educational techniques to instruct undergraduate students, graduate students and school children/teenagers (K-12). In addition, Dr. Cliff is a Certified Tutor by American Tutoring Association and National Tutoring Association (Math); he holds California Teaching Credentials in Math (CSET I,II,III), Busin
ess (I,II,III), and Educational Technology/Computers (I,II); he is a Sylvan Certified Teacher in Math and Arts/Language K-12.
Dr. Cliff believes that, although many professors and teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, many students and children do not learn well in traditional institutions. Many students and children don't respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a student's or child's strengths and natural abilities need to be the foundation of learning. Dr. Cliff often warns against a "cookie cutter" approach to educating students, teenagers and children. You or your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. Therefore, individual one-on-one tutoring or help is the key approach to each student who has any challenges difficulties in a given subject.
In today’s environment and economic challenges, with shorter budgets for the education, larger classes sizes and pressure of performing well in all kind of standard tests, I often see many students lacking true knowledge and skills in a given subject, since they cannot get individualized attention during the class session. That’s where a tutor comes into the picture, not only uncover major “holes” in students’ knowledge set but also teach students how to study, how to learn and through proper guidance “fill” those knowledge and skills holes.

Mr. M. is a CG artist. Like many, his love for art started in grade school and evolved in high school. While running his own T-Shirt Design company, "Extreme Limitations", he was able to quickly see the power of design, layout, color, and typography.
With over twenty years of experience in Graphic Design, Illustration, Prototype Design, Game Art, and Motion Graphics, Mr. M. now spends his time teaching students in many different graphic disciplines. He has been at Norco College since 2006 teaching 3D Modeling, Animation, Beginning and Advanced Photoshop, Illustrator, Digital Sculpting and Character Design. He has also taught 3D Modeling, Anim
ation, Drawing, Motion Graphics, and Video Editing at Coastline Community College, and Cypress College, Santa Ana and is now teaching 3D Modeling at Mt. SAC.
In his free time, Mr. M. freelances for companies helping production schedules that are running behind. In 2009, Gilbert won an Emmy.
i learn alot from where i need to improve on. taught me its alway best to practice everyday so i can become better and improve and to not just trace or copy go by what i see. he is a good teacher and i will come back

This experience really helped me grasp important concepts that I otherwise would have never known. I feel like I learned A LOT in only 3 classes and I can't wait to learn more. Gil was very productive; he based the lessons on what I use Photoshop for and actually allowed us to work on projects that I had to do for work, instead of just teaching what he wanted to teach. He was SUPER patient and never made me feel bad for stopping to take notes. I would definitely recommend him to anyone trying to learn a computer program he is knowledgeable in. This is totally irrelevant, but he has cool hair too! Thanks Gilbert!
***ADDRESSES WITHIN REMOTE AREAS (no public transit or bicycle access) DIFFICULT TO SERVICE PHYSICALLY. Lesson cancellations and schedule changes need to be submitted through Takelessons.com student website, relieve busy teacher from multiple informal requests***
My style and attitude toward teaching is a balance between subject delivery and reflective, supportive interaction. I seek to enable current research on education for busy, yet goal-driven student interests. This is done through customized online lessons coordinating the experience with optimal resources and tools: ESL and Speech students learn to monitor their own phonological issues with dedicated software/feedback, guiding German students through conversational dialogues, and ensuring relevant resources for Excel and related productivity lessons.
Due to my limited funds
, I do not have direct experience with the Adobe suite, but I have extensive knowledge of related, free distributions that are transferable. Possibly the only PhD on Takelessons server from a regionally accredited university, I am a member of the American Council on Foreign Language Learning and the Association for Language Learning. My most popular subjects are as follows:
North American English Pronunciation Practice for ESL (NAEPP-ESL) or Accent-Reduction: *****Each Online Lesson with Free Video & MP3 recordings, and about 50 GB onedrive folder for lesson files*****
Carefully following Burkkowsky's (1969) multi-media method, I have taught this subject for over five years for public and private causes, such as library, individuals, and language schools. German Language and Culture: *****Each Online Lesson with Free Video & MP3 Recordings and about 50 GB onedrive folder for lesson files*****
Microsoft Excel: ***It is recommended students own or have regular access to a personal computer after 2002 in order to get the best benefit***
Typing: ***It is recommended students own or have regular access to a personal computer after 2002 in order to get the best benefit***
Dr. G has been able to identify and target very specific problems in my speech. His method is very effective. He is an excellent teacher!

Among the accent reduction teachers that I had before, Erol is the only one who actually could find the problems in my accent! The program he uses is very useful. The way he explains things or exaggerates the mistakes will help me to correct my accent. Overall, an awesome experience and I would totally recommend him to anyone.
I work as a tutor and mentor in many of those fields for years. It was and is a side business, but I always enjoyed teaching. I am looking forward to move on with you and / or your kids. Have a great day, Marcel
Update 02/10/15: Takelessons is a great way to teach and a fantastic and easy way to learn for students. I currently have 3 students per week, with several hours. I really enjoy it, either online via Skype or Facetime or Live at the students place. Hit me up and let's move something together.
I learned a lot from Marcel and liked his vision of how to redo the garden. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we discussed how to improve it. He pulled out his iPad and made several garden sketches that were helpful. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we decided to remove several of them and re-"orchestrate" the remaining ones. (We only bought new plants if they were needed to realize the new garden vision.) He is also a very hard worker, helping me (physically) transplant and add plants as required. For example, we transplanted a 100+ (?) pound Sago palm across the front yard. I would never have done that on my own (too heavy for me) but together we did it! Highly recommended. Bill

Excellent teacher. We took a 20'x2' section of "dirt" in the back, redid the soil, transplanted a rose in that section, added two other new roses and a bunch of ground cover. Looks great! Recommended.

I did not actually take any lessons with him, but his schedule did not reflect what showed as available in Takelessons. He had a very bad attitude and would not actually schedule the lesson after several exchanges.

A professional CAD tutor with Architecture & Computer science background. Architecture helped me understand the structure and art behind designs. Computer science on the other hand helped me with digital design tools, and bringing efficiency and accuracy to my projects.
I have been teaching and working with Autocad since 2011. I gained an extensive knowledge in Autocad and its integrations with different design & engineering software such as: Revit, SketchUp, 3dsmax to name a few.
I have trained many students, engineers and designers to use the software efficiently for personal, educational & professional projects. I also worked for a construction company that did stone work for high-end residential projects, an interior designer, a general contractor, an architect and a manufacturer.
A patient tutor who worked and helped learner
s from different age groups: young high school students to retired engineers who worked many years in their field.
I Worked with both individuals and groups. When working with groups, I always made sure everybody understood the tasks at hand, and answered all their questions.
I am offering interested learners a customized learning experience that:
* Fits your specific needs. * Match your skill set. * and is based on your background.
Autocad is a fun tool to learn and is the basis for all engineering software, I want to help you start your path correctly and learn everything you need with ease!
"Jeff was very knowledgable and provided the instruction I needed to get the books for my new business up and running."
"Is there anything better than 5 star? Jean-Marc is the very best and patient teacher."
"I had no idea how lucky I would be to find Pedro. I am an interior designer learning Autocad and having no prior experience with the program, Pedro made i
t totally accessible. He is a phenomenal teacher and is so kind and patient. He provides foundational rules at the beginning of each session and has clear goals mapped out for every step of the way. We have done a number of exercises that I did not think would be possible for me to accomplish at this point. I am so grateful to have found him and highly recommend him!!!!!"
"Donna is truly one of a kind person! I am so lucky to trust my instincts about Donna. She is absolutely an amazing person! I like to become a permanent
student as I have been interested in many subjects Donna masters. Also, I must say that Donna is a gentle tutor and being. She is a true precious gem."
"Larry was very helpful with my web design needs.
"Easy to work with and very responsive"
"Donna was so amazing. I look forward too continuing our lessons and learning from her with her knowledge and experience."
"Donna was so patient with me. She gave me many ideas and homework to help make my website successful. She even spent outside time looking at my website
and comparing it to my competitors to decide what was needed before she met with me as she had comprised a list of details that I needed to work on. I loved the attention she gave me even with my lack of knowledge.
I would recommend her to anyone looking for help with SEO. Thank you Donna and I can't wait for another lesson."
"Cindy is extremely knowledgeable of Adobe Lightroom. She was very flexible in scheduling my lesson and provided all the answers I needed and extra tips. I
will definitely schedule additional sessions for Lightroom updates."
