Learn how to play all your favorite songs, straight from the radio to your own fingertips! Entertain your friends, your family, and yourself for a lifetime! When you study guitar with me, you will learn:

- Music Theory - notes, chords, reading, and rhythm that will allow you to pick up any song and play it.

- Technique - build strength and endurance, and learn the fingering, strumming, and picking used by all your favorite artists.

- Repertoire - songs! My lessons are based on the idea of practical application, so from very early on, we will be learning to play songs that you know and love!

- Other basics - terminology, guitar majntenance and tuning, changing strings, etc.

Corey is a fantastic drummer! Take advantage of time at home while learning new skills, and this is a great way to stay active and keep your energy up. Corey has been drumming for a very long time and has an excellent positive attitude, you can't miss!

A great experience! I have been learning with Corey for about two months, and am already improving. I am a guitar player with some basic drumming experience. I was looking to finally get to the next level so I could record my own drum beats (also drumming always looked like a lot of fun!), and Corey is helping me to achieve this. He is a talented drummer himself, and was able to quickly assess my playing level so we could start building on it. He has a great eye and ear for issues with my technique and always has an exercise to address them. In a short time I have experienced significant improvement, playing some more creative drum patterns, and am looking forward to continuing.
A lot of fun, very fulfilling, great instructor! Highly recommended!

Corey is an awesome drummer....truly knows the heart and soul of his craft! He's patient and kind...all around a cool dude! Check him out!

My lesson stands out because I have a lot of piano performance, recording, and accompanist experiences. This is from jobs from The Voice Department at Berklee College of Music, Manhattan School of music Admission audition acompanist and many different performances around the world.
I've been playing piano for 21 years. I played classical piano for 10 years and then switched to jazz, and contemporary styles. I graduated Berklee College of Music in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance and Jazz Composition with Full tuition. I then attended Manhattan School of music, where I received a high scholarship. I graduated in 2020 with a Master's Degree in Jazz Studies.

From my experiences, I can cover Beginner to Advanced Jazz Piano, Pop piano, Jazz Arranging, and Jazz Composition. I also can help prepare for music school auditions, or any audition prep.

All my lessons will be custom built for each student.

I have been teaching piano almost as long as I have been performing, coming up on 10 years. To date, I have taught lessons to over 100 different students ranging in age from 5 to 70, and ranging in skill from complete beginner to college piano performance major. I can teach students of any level and help them overcome any problem, whether that is a technical problem, interpretative problem, or having pain during playing.

Not every student is going to think I’m the best fit for them. I expect consistent practice, completion of assignments, and attention to detail in music. I have had many trial lessons that don’t pan out because the student or parent thinks my expectations are too high for them. Make no mistake; I expect a lot, but I also care deeply about music and have great understanding and sympathy for those who genuinely try. Whether your goal is to learn to read music, improve rhythm, learn to play the great classical repertoire, or simply have a good time learning the ...

Excellent. Nothing gets by her; very helpful.
Caleb
I had the opportunity to work with Kessa when we were both in undergrad and I was trying to decide whether or not to become a music major. I was feeling pretty discouraged with my current piano teacher at the school and talked with Kessa since we had a class together and I knew she was a piano major. I had a few lessons with her and she gave me so many helpful ideas about how to approach my pieces and improve my practice habits. She was very kind and didn’t make me feel bad at all, but still pushed me hard in those lessons because she believed in me. Even though I ended up deciding not to go into music after all, I still value those few lessons I had with her and recommend her to everyone at any level.
Marissa
Kessa is a very professional and talented piano teacher. My son loves going to lessons and we love hearing him practice such pretty music. We're impressed with Kessa's ability to explain confusing concepts and to encourage my son when he is having a tough time. She's done so well with transitioning to Zoom lessons during the pandemic and we love being able to have lessons from home.

A good violin lesson is all about balance: balance between études and repertoire, between technique and expression, even between historical/contextual information and elements of music theory. In the end, the most important things are that the student is learning, and that the student is having fun.

"Fawn is an excellent teacher. Her skills and talent are obvious. My son was able to advance in piano and reading music in a remarkably short amount of time. Matter of fact, he is now the Drum Major at his High School Marching Band in 11th grade! She is patient and talented. Her approach was pleasant but always focused. Even when my son was not "into it" Fawn was able to bring out his talent.
When she came to our house, she was always a joy to have.
As a parent, my favorite experience with Fawn was on the rare occasion, when she would accept our family dinner invitation, I got to spend quality time with her and learn how truly special she is."
