Trumpet Lessons in Grand. Amazing Teachers.

While I love to perform, one of my greatest passions is teaching! I'm an expert at instilling confidence in my students and assisting those who want to take their playing to the next level. I cater my lessons individually to each of my students and am an excellent problem-solver. Even ONE lesson can make a difference.

I am a recent graduate of the Juilliard School with 6 years of teaching experience. All ages and skill levels are welcome in my studio.

Every trumpet student has different strengths, weaknesses, facial structure, mouthpiece, and trumpet. I believe a student's trumpet routine should be designed specifically to fit their needs and align with their goals as a musician. Once I understand your skill level and trumpet goals, I will personally create a practice routine designed specifically for you.

The concept is simple: empowerment to generate mastery on your instrument. I like to work with you at your level, from beginner and up. My goal is to not only help you understand the mechanics of the instrument, but to empower you to create as limitlessly as possible on it. I will be working with you on things such as rhythm, ear training (hearing melodies and recreating them, understanding major and minor scales and how to "hear" music), embouchre (lips) development, breath control, musical sight reading, and understanding musical notation and terminology and beyond through a few of my own and others' techniques.

I have found the best approach to doing this is by selecting music that you like to listen to and play, as it is much more fun to practice something that you enjoy rather than doing busywork to build skill.

I am a professional full time Trombonist. At the same time, teaching has always been a big part of who I am - I love teaching. My music career has taken me around the world and back but more than that it has given me a wonderful tool of self expression, and for that I am forever grateful. My band performs regularly in Opera houses as well as coffee houses... Other than the Trombone I do play the Trumpet as well, and I have over 8 years of Piano under my belt. I feel very confident teaching Trumpet up to the advanced level. This is pretty much standard practice within the brass family :)

I teach you how to read, play, and transpose the music. I also work on techniques necessary for good tone and breathe control. We also work on Theory so you understand what is in the music that you are reading.
