I have also appeared in several concerts, opera scenes, competitions (winning music scholarships and theater awards), and worked as a singer in churches, restaurants, and in pop bands. I continue to stay active in the performance industry, and I could never live without it!

With this experience under my belt, I feel a desire to pass on my knowledge to students. I carry a strong passion to help people develop their abilities and make them their own. After reading all the glowing reviews, I decided to book a one-hour Microsoft Excel lesson with Daniel. He was 10 minutes late to the session and the the session ended up running over half an hour. In 1.5 hour, I walked away with not having any of my excel questions solved. Nice guy, but Just make sure he can assist your Microsoft Excel needs before booking a session with him.

Geometry is my personal favorite, because it id among the most misunderstood concepts in mathematics (which is ironic, considering it's one of the easiest once you are taught it the 'right' way). Students generally find Geometry hard because they cannot grasp onto the myriad new concepts they encounter. They get lost in the enigmatic theorems, lengthy identities and copious proofs that plague Geometry, instead of focusing on the main ideas. I teach geometry by utilizing a 'result-based' method, which exhorts my students to emphasize on what the question is actually asking, instead of trying to remember abstract formulas and dangling corollaries off the top of their heads. This method is highly effective and several of the seniors I taught benefited from it, because once they understand the concepts behind the questions, the other skills were complimentary and came automatically. I believe in in-depth learning. In-depth learning helps my student build the foundation necessary to succeed in their future courses. To facilitate this type of learning, many of my lessons feature derivation of formulas. For the lessons that do not involve formulas, I present a few simple concepts from which we can derive and solve many other problems. My lessons also feature numerous questions to enhance student engagement and to improve student confidence of having them solve the problem on their own as much as possible. I then drill my students with practice problems and get them to explain until I'm fully convinced that my students truly understood the material.

I have helped people of all walks of life how to cross this digital divider. This includes professionals, business owners, college graduate students, college undergraduate students, high school students, and job applicants.

I manage to close the digital gab by simplifying mathematical and computer science concepts. I do not simply repeat what has been already detailed in trillions of pages of books and lectures. I am a performer, teacher, and student. While working towards a Masters in Performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Burt Hara at Cal State Fullerton, I have subbed with local orchestras as well as participated in recording projects in Orange County. At the University, I perform with the wind symphony, orchestra, and new music ensemble.

When I was a child, my uncle, a doctor for the CDC in Atlanta, was visiting for Christmas. I only saw him once a year, and this year he gave me a pink plastic recorder. After becoming immediately obsessed with the small instrument, I begged my parents for lessons. “Lessons on the recorder?” they laughed. Every Christmas, my uncle would bring a duet book, and we would play duets on recorder. Finally, in third grade, my parents started me on piano and the next year, I began private lessons on
clarinet.

I found my passion for playing at a young age. I believe that although it is important to build good technique, practice habits, and musicality, it is also important to keep the passion and joy that playing music can bring us. As I grow as a person and a musician, I always try to remember what brought me to music in the first place: playing and enjoying music with my friends and peers.

Aside from performance, I discovered my passion for teaching as I started working with students in private lessons and working as a camp counselor at a woodwind camp. I was invited to sub with the Auburn Symphony and was excited to perform Tchaikovsky’s Symphony no. 2 beside my mentor and friend, Jennifer Nelson. Today, I am indebted to the inspiration my uncle gave me as a child and all my teachers for my opportunity to pursue a Masters of Music in Clarinet Performance at Cal State Fullerton.

About Andrew
I teach/tutor a myriad of topics and love doing it. I'm currently attending the Georgia Institute of Technology, studying aerospace engineering and computer science, so I love science and math (particularly when it has to do with space stuff). I'm super outgoing and a very laid back, chill person all at the same time (being like this has produced quite the stories). I also love food, a lot.

Working with others and helping them succeed has been something I've loved to do for a while now. While I was in high school, I was a coach for one of the local swim teams and had a blast getting to teach people how to swim and such, and the best part was getting to connect with those kids and seeing them succeed during the swim meets.

Once I graduated, I had the privilege to serve as a full time volunteer in Brazil for a couple years, where my
sole focus, every day, was to help others to improve the quality of their life. In doing so, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet new people everyday and see people's lives drastically improve. Another cool part of this experience was that I got to teach English as a second language to people who'd never spoken it before. They loved it, and in the time that I did teach it, students went from speaking no English to being able to form basic sentences and have simple conversations.

Now in college, I've strived to continue this pattern with the little free time that I get during the week and on the weekends due to my classes. Throughout all of this, I've discovered how easy it is for me to connect with people and how much fun it can be.

What I bring to the lessons:
I always ensure to provide the highest quality lessons and ensure that the student easily understands the materials. I'll provide materials that I know will assist the student to master the concepts.

My expectations:
Learning requires the student to put in effort. Any assignments I give, I will expect them to be completed. I understand that sometimes one of "those weeks" comes around where life hits us in the face, but it's not every week.

Your expectations:
You've come to me obviously to learn something new, and I intend to go above and beyond those expectations. I want the lessons to be more than just sit down, do the work, and then leave. That's not a great way to learn stuff, in my opinion. Expect to be brought out of your comfort zone a bit and experience things you never experienced before. Above all, expect to see these lessons as an enjoyable experience.
