I've been playing since I was a child and have a special place in my heart for the is instrument. I actually began learning from a fiddle player and trained classically later. If you want to learn how to succeed in playing this rewarding and satisfying style, this is the place for you.
Are wondering why every time you hit a certain note, it squeaks, or crunches, or sounds glassy? Or maybe you can't quite read the notes. Perhaps you are no stranger to the instrument, but need improvement of musicianship, expression, etc. Let me help you master the skills you're trying to achieve. With my help, you can make breathtaking music!

My passion for the violin is undeniable but changing lives with this beautiful instrument and bringing the best out of YOU is what I thrive for! I create a fun and exciting atmosphere along with my 16+ years of experience to turn anyone into a passionate violinist.

I have had major events happen in my life which inspired me to become a mental health advocate/musician, which music is therapeutic and have been devoted to being someone who’s caring, diverse, determined and understanding. I make learning an instrument very exciting, enjoyable for all ages, whether you’re just getting started or already have experience (Beginners/Intermediate). In 2003 I started playing the violin and became concert master (first chair) in my orchestra from Aug. 2003 - May 2012. During that time period, I performed in an honors orchestra from 2005 - 2007. After graduating high school in May 2012, I continued ...

Hands Down the best violin teacher in the Sacramento area! From the flexibility she has with time to the amazing way she teaches. I am a beginner who couldn’t even read music. I told her that was what I was most concerned about. I was able to learn not only to read music but also the background to the music I was learning. To me that was key to learning. Will definitely recommend to anyone that wants to learn the violin!!

I highly recommend Jaclyn. My son was struggling with his practices, she worked with him and gave him the confidence to succeed.

Chris was very patient with me. I had special challenges due to be an older student that started later in life. We communicated very well--asking and answering questions. Chris knew how to help me as I am challenged with intonation. He did not let me slide which is an excellent quality in an instructor.

When I had questions or problems that we were not able to figure out between the two of us he went to his instructor to ask. He was not afraid to admit that he didn't know. He respected me as a scientist who had challenging questions.

Overall, I highly recommend Chris as an instructor for viola.

Chris is super knowledgeable, flexible to make lessons work over Skype, and attentive to make sure the lessons are tailored to what I am trying to learn as a growing pianist. I’ve had a great experience, grown a lot, and look forward to more lessons!

She was very thorough..plus her style of teaching will definitely benefit me in the long run!!

Jeanmarie helped me to learn the proper way to hold the cello and the bow. She watched carefully to be sure I maintained that throughout the lesson. I am pleased that she is going to be sure I learn to play the cello well to prevent injuries. She also gave me some very basic bowing and finger exercises to practice this first week so I begin to build correct muscle memory before I go on to working with sheet music.
