I have been crocheting since I was 9 years old and teaching all ages for nearly 15 years and would love to get your (yarn) ball rolling! Specializing in pattern reading and writing, troubleshooting, improvisation, and more. No question is too big or too small! I believe that crochet is easier to pick up than knitting, so this is a great place to start for kids or first time yarn crafters, and I encourage anyone to learn crochet as well if they want to pick up knitting someday.

I am a Craft Yarn Council Certified Crocheting Instructor and have been working professionally as a crocheting artist and teacher since 2009. I teach beginner through advanced students how to crochet items such as beautiful scarves, warm, colorful winter hats, and funky bracelets and headbands. If you can imagine it, you can create it! Lessons are focused on the student's specific needs and level. I am happy to help you with a crocheting pattern of your choice or can recommend crocheting patterns based on your level and what you desire to learn. I can also assist you in correcting mistakes, problem solving, reading patterns and pattern interpretation. Experienced crocheter of 15+ years available for eager beginning students of all ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of basic stitches. I recommend having the following tools available to use during lessons: Crochet Hook, Yarn, Darning/Tapestry Needle.

Instead of focusing on one skill set or one type of project, I am always trying to learn new skills! I have experience making home goods, amigurumi and clothing. If there is something you want to learn how to make, I can teach you the skills necessary to get from start to finish! I have been teaching crochet since 2020 and have taught students as young as 12!

Are you a beginner who has never touched a hook or do you need help following a pattern? Do you need help finishing a project? Do you want to make gifts or special things for yourself? Have you seen a project on Ravelry or Pinterest that you just love but are afraid it is beyond your skill level? Don't worry, you can call on me anytime to get you through a tough spot. I will even help you find, fix and prevent mistakes. Crochet with confidence. Work on a project of your choice or I will help you find something you will like. Be inspired, improve your skills and learn to read patterns. I am familiar with every crochet technique. If you find something I do not know, I will master it before your lesson (except Freeform.) I am also a Published Designer, CYC Certified instructor, with over 9 years of teaching experience. Students are expected to provide all tools and materials but I will help you find what you need for your project. Recommended minimum duration for lessons is 90 minutes.

I have a LOT of patience! All you need is the desire to learn to crochet. If you never have crocheted before, I will get you crocheting. If you want to learn, but believe you can’t learn because someone told you can’t learn to crochet, I will prove that you can crochet. If you have crocheted a long time ago, but forgot all of it or most of it, I will bring it back to you. If you already know the basics of crocheting, but don’t know how to get beyond the granny square, I can get you to the next level. If you know crocheting basics, but gave up because you make a lot of mistakes, I will show you tricks to avoid them and show you how to read your work so that mistakes are found sooner rather than later. If you know the basics, but want to learn a different technique such as color work, post stitches, or more, I can teach you. Do you have trouble reading patterns or charts, I can take the mystery out of them. Because of COVID-19, I mostly teach online for now. If you are vaccinated, I will consider teaching in person within 6 miles of where I live, (Massachusetts). I use Zoom for my teaching platform only. Please get familiar with Zoom on the device you will be using before coming to your lessons. Every devilce works and looks differently and I’d rather be teaching crochet than how to use your computer and the Zoom app. “Online” 30 minute sessions are permissible for only students that are comfortable with the basics: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet. If you are an absolute beginner, I recommend the first 1 or 2 lessons to be 2 hours long. After, that any time slot, (30, 60 or 90 minutes) will be fine. I look forward to meeting you!

I have a passion for crochet and teaching, and I have taught many students over the years and I am now still friends with many of them. I love to crochet, and most of the time I am crocheting items as gifts and I absolutely love the smile I see on the people's faces when they see the crocheted gift I made just for them, they feel so special!
