Jacob has been working well with my son. We had to change schedules to accommodate my daughters activities otherwise he was a superb teacher. Hope my son will remember all the tricks learned from Jacob.

Jacob was always accommodating with our ever-changing schedule and was so patient with teaching my 12 year old to play the double valved french horn, given the limitations of being many miles away and the difficulty of playing this instrument.

Learn embouchure, breath control, finger technique, range building, reading music in a variety of styles.

About David
I've studied with some of the finest trombonists in the US and completed my Bachelors degree in Trombone Performance at the University of Arizona. My performing background is a balanced mix of classical and commercial ensembles. I've played in symphony orchestras, pit orchestras, show bands, jazz bands, chamber music, and dixieland to name just a few. It all starts with learning the basics and that's how I approach brass playing (which includes trumpet, french horn, trombone, bass trombone, baritone/euphonium, and tuba) with my students. I have many years experience teaching in-studio and in-house, as well as teaching brass at a performing arts high school. Students learn relaxed technique, production of a beautiful tone, overall musicality in many styles, and sight-reading.

*** Lesson Details ***
I place an emphasis on building embou
chure, breathing, posture, musical interpretation, sight-reading and theory.

I encourage relaxation while enjoying the process of making music.

All of the above can be applied to any style of music the student is interested in exploring.

*** Studio Equipment ***
My studio is located in a relaxed setting near a creek. For the teaching of brass instruments, not much equipment is needed though I have a metronome, tuner, digital recorder, sounds system, and plenty of music to get started.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I travel with necessary instruments, metronome, digital recorder, and whatever music I'd be introducing at that particular lesson.

*** Specialties ***
Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone/Euphonium, Bass Trombone, and Tuba

My first instruction from David O. couldn't have gone better. He quickly summed up my abilities (or lack thereof) and put me on a course for improvement. Dave's style of teaching was fun and unintimidating. In addition, Dave is extremely patient and sincere. I'm looking forward to the next lessons.

I am starting over from scratch with trumpet. Tom is helping me to rebuild and strengthen that foundation, develop good habits and skills with meaningful exercises and great learning materials. In just a few lesson I feel I have made great progress while enjoying myself immensely. Tom's lessons are a delightful experience; I alway leave them feeling very energized and refreshed. My favorite part of our lesson is when we play duets together. Tom plays his Euphonium, I love the sound of that instrument, while I play trumpet; these duets sound just heavenly. I do not have enough good things to say about this instructor, other than I am simply delighted with the experience. Thank you Tom. -s.

Outstanding instructor, professionally gifted, helpful, patient and personable. I was fortunate to have found Elisabeth to teach my 9 year old son how to play the violin. Her teaching style was a perfect match for him and she was able to keep him motivated to play and improve and also achieve his goal of making the junior orchestra for his school.

Take lessons with a experienced teacher that actively performs and teaches. What makes me a good teacher is the fact that I struggled during the first few years that I started playing. I had a work through those struggles in order to become the musician I am today, so I know how to break things down and to cater lessons to each individual student. There is no cookie cutter method for all, we each have our own issues to work on. Some naturally gifted teachers will just tell you to play something and make it work...but since I had to work hard to become successful, I can use what I learned to help you to achieve success. I will help you to build a strong fundamental base and to turn your weaknesses into strengths! Whether you are preparing for school band or ensemble, for honor band auditions, college auditions, or solo and ensemble festivals, I would be happy to help you to become the musician that you want to become.

About Christian
I've been playing brass for over 20 years, and have been teaching for about 20 years as well. I am married, have two young children and two cats. I'm so blessed to have had the opportunities to perform and travel as a musician, and I wouldn't have made it to this point with out the Lord's blessing and without people in my live teaching me, mentoring me, and supporting me. It took a lot of work to get to this point, and if you work hard you can get there too. We all start in the same place, which is, knowing nothing, and we go from there! I would be happy to help you to get there as well.

Currently, I perform as the principal euphonium with the 40th Infantry Division Band of the Army National Guard, the principal euphonium of the Southern California Brass Consortium, and the principal euphonium with the Salvation Army's Western Ter
ritory Staff Band. I also play with my church brass band at the Salvation Army!

I have experience performing as a soloist in San Diego, Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, Las Vegas, New Jersey, Atlanta, Seattle, Norway, United Kingdom and most recently Angola. I've also performed in Alaska, Arizona, Denver, New York, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Germany. I enjoy playing in almost any medium from Brass Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Big Band, and even Bavarian Octoberfest Bands. I've also been known to play a little valve trombone in contemporary worship bands, but don't tell any slide trombone players that because they tend to get jealous!

I have a passion for helping people grow and improve as musicians, whether you are 8 years old or 80 years old, or any age. We can all improve and grow!

Having played tuba with the Utah and Iceland Symphony Orchestras, and with 20 years of music tutoring experience, I communicate a deep love for music to my students as well as the skills and techniques to play tuba at as high a level as they want to go. I also teach my students ear training, music theory, and how those tuba playing skills transfer to other parts of life.

About Benjamin
Music is an essential part of everyone's life, and I bring music to people as a classical performer, teacher, and scholar.

Currently, I am based in the greater Phoenix area, though have performed all over the state of Arizona. I am a member of the nationally-renowned Salt River Brass Band, as well as a performer with such groups as the Utah Symphony and Iceland Symphony.

As an arranger, I have experience notating music for individual instruments and full ensembles. I have written critically on the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, and have written grants to secure funds for classical music projects at the university level.

I teach elementary and middle-school band in the Peoria (AZ.) School District, and also have extensive conducting experience at the high school and collegiate levels. Since 1998, I have maintained a stuio of indiviidu

I am an incredibly spirited and determined musician and educator who takes great joy in sharing music with as many people as I can. I am currently working on a BME from Indiana University, and while I still have a long way to go, I know full well in my ability to demonstrate my talent as a musician and educator. Performing all over the country has been one in a long list of wonderful and highly impact performances in my time as a musician, and I have played in settings ranging from Lucas Oil Stadium to IU's very own Recital Hall. I hope to further myself and those around me by taking on students, and I have not a doubt in my mind that everyone is a musician at heart.

About Michael
My teaching experience dates as far back as my high school days, as I began giving lessons to 6th graders almost 6 years ago. Since then, I have taught and met with dozens of students, and helped them flourish as musicians, teaching both as a partner in local schools and out of my own home. The skill levels at which I teach range widely, as I have taught both beginners, learning how to hold their instrument for the first time, to advanced players almost better than me! I like to capitalize on making sure a student is setting proper goals and is achieving them at a consistent, healthy, and fun pace.

If my students are not enjoying themselves then I do whatever I can to change that! I am always ready to teach for all ages! For the newest of players who may also be children, I usually begin teaching out of The Yamaha Advantage series for
beginners. Once the student has demonstrated a strong understanding of the fundamentals of brass playing, I will begin introducing them to different solos, scales, and other repertoire in the hopes that they may want to perform in competition or recital.

For more advanced players, I try to find out what the student's specific goals are, and work with them to best achieve said goals. I have a plethora of etudes, solos, and other material to keep them interested in building up their abilities. Few things are as rewarding for me than being able to witness one of my students thrive in the performing arts! Therefore, it is important that my students have as much fun as possible and can feel accomplished achieving firm, yet reachable, personal goals. Acknowledging accomplishments helps students feel valued and like their efforts are worth something - fostering a readiness to learn more. I want to do whatever I can to help my students achieve greatness - however they may see fit. By trying to find out what inspires my students, I can successfully engineer my instruction to their wants and needs.
