We'll work through the Hal Leonard book series and I'll give you various side songs to learn along the way. We'll also dive into music theory as its relevant for your interests and playing. I prefer to only teach beginners.

About Roxanne

I know my students can learn ANYTHING, and it's my job to guide them and inspire them in the most efficient and fun way I can. I have a versatile background as a trumpet playing composer who plays piano as well. I've played in almost every genre at one point or another as a professional trumpet pl

Ms. Roxanne is a wonderful teacher with fun and inspiring tricks up her sleeve. She is able to captivate the imagination of young minds and help them achieve a consistent learning experience. I am so impressed by how effective her teaching methods are in keeping young restless minds interested in learning music. Roxanne's lessons are playful which is perfect for kids and adults alike. She creates fun musical games and creates funny stories and characters around musical concepts to help children remember. This is so much more fun than just plain memorizing! She even invents new games for individual children based on their own personal interests; recently she came up with a treasure hunt game in a young boy's backyard to help him learn about rhythm. Her YouTube channel keeps kids excited for the next lesson with creative and kid-friendly videos. She truly is an ingenious music teacher. I cannot recommend her enough to inspire you and your children in the way of music.

I played music professionally for many years, both solo and in a variety of bands. I did not enjoy performing. I am a songwriter and my studio is where I feel most comfortable. I teach finger-style acoustic guitar as my default but enjoy other styles as well. Regardless of style, it will always be combined with a strong understanding of music theory and guitar basics. It doesn't matter If you are interested in more advanced topics (i.e. songwriting, recording, etc.) or are a complete beginner. I am happy to work with all levels. Let's get started. You can do this!

About Chuck

I've been writing and recording music my whole life. Aside from motorcycle riding, it's my true love.

I understand that each person learns differently and has different musical goals. Because of this, I do not teach everyone the same. I do not teach out of any specific book or teaching program. Instead I design lessons around the student and their own personal style and goals. I feel that this creates a more motivating and driven curriculum and makes lessons more enjoyable for myself and my students.

About Andrew

My name is Andrew. I am a private guitar teacher in the Puyallup,WA area. I have been teaching professionally in the area for the past 6 years, and have been playing and studying the guitar since I was 11 years old. Music is my life, and teaching people to play this music on guitar is my passion. M

Andrew is an excellent instructor. He is really knowledgeable in music theory. I took lessons for only a short time but was able to learn so much, because he used my knowledge of piano to help me understand guitar concepts and he focused on the techniques and songs that I was most interested in.

Chris is a very talented musician and really understands young students. Our student is 12 years old which is young for learning guitar. Chris shows great patience and skill teaching him. He knows how to keep his interest and keep him on task for practice as well as one on one lessons. We are very pleased with Chris for guitar instruction.
Alex
This man not only taught me how to shred on a guitar in a way catered for me (he caters his lessons to the interests of the student while still retaining a healthy balance of general theory and skills every guitar player should know), but he helped me with my songwriting, provided me useful skills that transferred to other elements of my life, and constantly provided support and encouragement even when picking up the guitar was the last thing on my mind. I would recommend him to anyone

"Will is a very experienced, very intuitive musician who will tailor the lessons according to your goals, whether they be short-term, long-term, or just something you feel like doing that particular day. I tend to be self-critical sometimes and Will is very patient and very relaxed, and completely non-judgmental - I love how he first makes a small pot of tea while we talk about what I want to work on that day. It helps bring me out of wherever I was coming from prior to the lesson, and to refocus on the present moment."

"Totally satisfied! I don't have a lot of experience with the guitar but Chris has made every lesson build on prior lessons so that I consistently see progress. He pays attention to what interests the student rather than focusing on what he necessarily wants to cover. He's reliable and punctual. Easy going, he communicates well."

"I'm a few months into lessons with Jordan and really enjoying it so far. He is a highly skilled musician and a great teacher. His teaching style is well-rounded, and is helping me build a solid foundation on guitar. He will challenge you, but will be patient and encouraging along the way. He is very accommodating and flexible with scheduling (which is a huge plus). I would definitely recommend him for students of all ages."

"Worked with John for a few months with very little understanding of guitar. He went through chords I should learn and gave me practice suggestions. Also went into music theory per my request and explained in simple terms. By the end, I felt that I had a much greater understanding of music. John also worked to learn what music that I liked and wanted to play, so that he could introduce songs that would maintain my interest and be of an appropriate skill level for me to not get frustrated or bored with. Also worked with my schedule when needed and was very accommodating."

"Why would anyone defame such a wonderful teacher? He is so dedicated and follows through with his lessons by consistently sending links all through the week that helps with understanding all you need to know about musical sounds. Its been an intriguing experience for me. Pay no attention to anonymous critics; they choose to remain anonymous not to help you, but to help themselves. I would recommend James to anyone seriously interested in honing their skills in the acoustic guitar. Cheers!"

"As a young female, I was apprehensive about choosing a male teacher that teaches in his home. However, Paul has been professional and I have not had any concerns since meeting him and working with him. He is a well-planned, experienced teacher who artfully progresses students from week to week in a manner that is constructive and fun. In only 5 weeks I have learned more about playing guitar and guitar theory than I would have thought. He has been attentive to my goals and it is precisely the experience that I pay for."

"Theresa is a wonderful teacher! I have had many private lessons teachers, and she is by far the best. She is incredibly patient with me (especially when I get frustrated and struggle with a particular technique) and always challenges me each and every lesson. I feel that her pricing is very fair (my previous teachers charged much higher rates) and she is flexible whenever I cannot meet for lesson (given advance notice). I highly recommend her for anyone looking for teacher --- young child or adult. I have only had her for acoustic guitar lessons, but I imagine she is probably just as competent at teaching other instruments."
