As well as teaching you how to "play by listening", I am also able able to teach students how to read notes and rhythm charts. We will break it down into very small parts so it never seems overwhelming, and before you know it, you will be reading another language (the language of music!)

About Sheri

Playing music is so much fun! I have enjoyed music my whole life and being able teach music makes me very happy. Here is what one parent says about my teaching style... "Sheri, Is a lot of fun to work with. Her positive attitude on life flows from her which then helps others to have the same feeli

Fun playing along and fine suggestions. Expected a bit more "testing" on the first visit. Buying the book, so expect more homework on the second visit.

My Daughter started taking lessons with Sheri in the Spring and is LOVING the drums! Sheri is SO enthusiastic and has a real connections with kids. She has sparked a passion in my daughter and I think she is Fantastic!

Sheri is an awesome teacher!

Sheri is a natural and amazing teacher. She is so positive and encouraging and I always look forward to her lessons. It is evident that she gets a lot of joy out of teaching music and working with students and that enthusiasm transfer to you and makes you enjoy the lessons and motivates you to learn. She is patient and she understand your strengths and weaknesses and breaks down complex pieces such that you can pick it up easily. I was probably her last student for the day and yet she has always been bubbling with energy and enthusiasm every single time I walk in for my lessons.

Marsha is a wonderful music teacher! She has an organized lesson plan, she's always willing to set aside the lesson plan if I want to do something different that day, she gives very gentle feedback, and I always have so much fun with her during lessons. I highly recommend!

I have been taking lessons with Marsha for several months. Marsha has been helping me immensely to become a better singer. I am a novice vocalist and Marsha has worked with me patiently. I feel as if I have been progressing nicely with my vocal training.

I worked with Marsha for about 10 weeks. Singing was something on my "bucket list" and I wanted to find out why I didn't know how to do it. I learned a ton from Marsha, and I also learned that I wasn't a hopeless case!!

Ever wonder what Mixolydian or diminished means? They're just musical terms that describe the relationship a set of sounds, or notes. Music Theory is the analysis of what music is, how sound is turned into music, why it works the way it does!

Whatever your Music Theory goals, whether it's analyzing Beethoven or writing your own music, I have what it takes to make learning truly learning!

Maria
I love guitar lessons with Diego!! He introduced me to various techniques that help develop the skill more effectively and are based on psychological research and years of experience.
At the end of every class, he sends me an email with notes and recordings of him showing how to play a piece, so I have access to all the tips and references from my classes.
Also, I love how he reminds me to rest my arm, play with minimal necessary tension, so that playing is comfortable!!
Finally, I find his calm, patient presence creates a good atmosphere for me to learn as I feel comfortable making a mistake while having guidance how to fix it.

"AMAZING!

I met Dave in my music theory class at Ex'pression college. He's the reason why I'm making music today. I went from not knowing a thing about music theory or a piano to creating chord progressions, understanding modes, intervals, modal interchange, and how to read sheet music. He's extremely patient, professional, and easy to get along with. His passion for music and teaching is infectious, I highly recommend!!!"
