I have studied Classical Latin for over 9 years; it was a major course in elementary school and all four years of high school. You will need to familiarize yourself with rubrics of Latin grammar, vocabulary, and word structure and become comfortable with it, in order to translate Latin into English and vice versa. This is what we will focus on, starting from the roots up. I can help you master this fascinating language, still thriving in today's society after so many centuries.

I have a BA in Latin and Greek. It is true that these languages are “dead” and can be difficult to learn, but they are still useful in the modern world. An intensive study of Latin, for instance, provides a fundamental understanding of the language through the explanation of many grammar topics. This results in a fuller understanding of English grammar and vocabulary. It is good to develop the discipline required to learn Latin in high school and beyond.

In addition to tutoring, I teach Latin from scratch. I have typed up a series of Latin Outlines based on college course material. Outlines are divided into three sections: Grammar, Vocabulary, and Exercises.
