I've been teaching ballet for over twenty years. My ballet teacher was a Bolshi alumnai. He and his dad both danced for the Bolshi before they came to America. I teach a combination of Vaganova and my own updated style to keep my students interested in the style. I use classical music and pop to help students gain a love and appreciation for the style.

Ballet is my first love, and my biggest passion! I am an avid proponent for technique and performance. I do not believe in shortcuts but in attention to detail and muscle memory! Repetition is a great way to get movement from your brain to your body!
My technique and style of teaching incorporates a mixture of my most prominent influences which include:
The Vagonova Method
The Balanchine Method
The Cecchetti Method
The Royal Dance Academy (English method)
I actively support and teach injury prevention and work to strengthen your foundation for the ability to dance with longevity!
I love to make ballet fun and lighthearted for all of my students alike!
I love to have fun and I am passionate about sharing my art with others. I am very patient, and we will move at the student's pace no matter how long it may take to grasp a concept. Each class is catered toward the student's ability to pick up, thus the class will never be too fast or too slow.
I am looking forward to helping others find their place in the dance world, as well as introduce dance to new comers!

As a former ballet dancer, I know first hand how dancers are always pushing their bodies to the limit and constantly challenging themselves to be better. This mindset transitions into my teaching style and classes. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to understand ballet terminology and as time goes on you'll be able to demonstrate and combine the movements. I specialize in ballet as a whole which includes stretch, barre work, center work, and strengthening. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

I am a teacher of 13 years and I love what I do!
Ballet is a great workout in addition to being the foundation for all technical dance. It's a great place to start and always to come back to. Ballet has many benefits to offer students at every level, which is why even Pro football players take it!
Through ballet lessons with me, you will stabilize find better balance and control, strengthen, tone, and elongate your muscles, have increased flexibility and mobilization, improve your coordination and confidence, and much more.
My ballet lessons cover basics of posture, placement, alignment, and turnout. We begin practicing essentials such as positions, plies, tendus, pirouettes and more. Once the student shows proficiency in these basics, we move into more advanced movement and choreography. There is strong focus on technical precision and skill to ensure students are learning the correct foundation so they get the maximum benefit out of their ballet lessons. ...

My nine years old daughter has just changed through her five lessons a month! We are impressed by Misaki's rich knowledge of body structure, movement, and how to overcome each weak point. Misaki also gave my daughter a wonderful note that shows effective stretch methods and guidelines for future practice. What a caring person she is!
As a matter of course, Misaki is talented and beautiful ballet dancer. My daughter is truly lucky to see Misaki.
We strongly recommend Misaki for your ballet teacher.

You want to start learning ballet? Want to improve your techniques? Or just want to have a great workout?
I would love to share my passion for ballet and all the knowledge I gained through my career.
I believe ballet is demanding and hard but also it brings joy and beauty in your life.
I make sure that my students are challenged but also having fun in my class.
All ages/Levels welcome and of course lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student.
I started dancing at the age of 7 in Japan. At the age of 17, I attended to Arts Educational school in England and at the age of 18, I moved to New York city to attend Joffrey Ballet school.
At the age of 20, I was accepted to Dance Theatre of Harlem in NY and danced as a professional ballerina for about 6 years. Performed many principal roles and toured all over the US and overseas.
After my dancing career, I have been teaching dancers of different ages and experiences, from pre-ballet to adults and from ...
At the age of 17, she moved to England to attend The Arts Educational School. Here she mostly practiced RAD ballet method and Cecchetti ballet technique and she got a Cecchetti teaching certificate. She also had exposure to tap, jazz, contemporary and modern dance forms while she was there.
After a year, she moved to New York to continue her training at Joffrey Ballet School. At the age of 20, she was accepted to Dance Theatre of Harlem Ensemble under the director Arthur Mitchell, where she performed many principal roles in such as Joplin Dancers, New Bach, Concerto In F, South African Suite, Le Corsair, Nutcracker, and Glinka, among others. After moving to Seattle she became certified Yoga teacher by CorePower Yoga.
While there, she taught Ballet and Yoga at Vam Studios School of Dance and took tap classes from Mark Mendonca to deepen the tap education.
She recently moved to LA and she is very excited to join TakeLessons to share her passion for ballet and all of the knowledge she learned in her career.
I believe that I am good at teaching young children, teenagers and also adults.
When I was dancing professionally I was so focused on the techniques that I forgot how fun is and how much I loved dancing. Then after my career, I was able to approach dance from a more relaxed and fun-driven perspective and it made me realize that everybody should be having fun dancing, especially if not dancing professionally. Also, when I started dancing as a kid, I didn’t have “the ballerina body” (e.g. not flexible enough, closed hips, no adequate feet) so ballet did not come natural for me. I always had to work so much harder than the other girls in the studio to achieve the same results. Thanks to my hard work, the shape of my legs changed completely after many years. This struggle, to get a better dancer, taught me how hard ballet could be and made me understand more about the details of techniques and the steps necessary to perfectionate them. I am happy to share all the knowledge accumulated over the years to allow my students to improve their skills while still having fun.

At the age of 19 I obtained my BA with distinction as a pedagogue-choreographer from Kazakh National Academy of Arts. I teach all levels of ballet and all ages. Everyone is different, therefore I plan my class in accordance with such differences. I encourage my students to be the best they can be and improve their own abilities instead of trying to be better than someone else. Everyone has their own light to spread and I help each of my student find their special light.
Ballet is a hard work and requires a lot of discipline and dedication. It also requires a great amount of thinking ability and coordination of both brain hemispheres. I believe that this art develops not only your physical abilities, but mental abilities as well, and such impact can help anyone in every day life - in school, at work, with self improvement, in goals achievement. While I give a lot of information and challenge my students, I keep my classes light and interesting at the same time, combining education with fun.
Standard ballet class consists of warm up, barre and stretching followed by exercises in the center of the room - including jumps, turns and dance movements. Advanced levels use pointes shoes as well. Upon request I can also teach ballet variations, create solo or group routines, prepare for a competition.
Whether you want to try ballet to stay fit or chose ballet as a professional path - I can help accomplish your goals, offering QUALITY service and sharing all my knowledge and expertise with you. Look forward to hear from you!
