Kyle is a great piano teacher! He is very patient with my 12-year old son. Just yesterday he referred to him as “fun Kyle” because he teaches him small songs on the side that he can show friends and family or are for upcoming holidays. He’s always punctual and respectful of our family and home. I’m grateful to have found him!

Music is a universal language, and it is for everyone.
I believe in a fun and safe learning environment, and my goal as a teacher is to have the student leave the lesson feeling inspired, encouraged, and connected. I was touched by music at a young age, and it remains to be the most amazing, and the most positive force in my life, and it's been truly rewarding to be able to share this magic with aspiring musicians.
Throughout the years, I helped many of my students develop a strong bond with music. Many of them have succeeded in school ensembles and became award winning soloists.
Upon graduating from high school, some have moved on to pursue music in college and beyond, while some of them continue to enjoy playing as a hobby : )

About Masaru

We all need music - now more than ever, as we live in this unprecedented times. My name is Mas and I have been serving communities around the world as an active musician and a music educator for over 20 years on saxophones, flute, and clarinet. I have been teaching private lessons as well as improv

As a language teacher, I was looking for a clarinet/saxophone instructor with excellent communication skills and the ability to teach musical technique in an empathetic way. I was lucky to find Masaru Koga in Cupertino, California.

I enjoyed weekly lessons for about three years and really reached the point where I was constantly improving my clarinet mastery and getting closer to my performance goals. At one point, I became so enthusiastic, I also began saxophone lessons with Masaru!

I looked froward to meeting him for my weekly lessons and felt he gave more than 100% in patience, encouragement, and musical technique. He has a very warm, giving personality and when we were together, I made great progress and was very motivated to study and practice on my own.

I enthusiastically recommend Masaru Koga to other music students and wish I could be his student again!

"I was one of Jeremy's first students. My parents were forcing me to pick up music as a hobby and i was very hesitant because it seemed tedious to me. My mom then heard about Jeremy from her friend and asked if he was willing to teach me. He was very patient as i admit i was not the best student, but he stuck with me and now i am taking auditions to play for an orchestra as a principal flute player. I will always be grateful to him for getting me to love and enjoy music as i was against it in the beginning, I would recommend that everyone make him your teacher, he really is awesome! Love ya teach!"

"Dr. Sonnett taught my 7 year old daughter this past year, and I was very impressed with her warm, relaxed, and consistent approach to learning. My daughter's technique and musicality progressed rapidly throughout the year, and never at the expense of the joy of music. My daughter can be a challenge - as her mind wanders easily - yet Dr. Sonnett always brought the focus of the lesson back to the flute in a respectful and often humorous way. It was a wonderful year!"

"Sam is great with my 10 year old daughter. He is easy going and makes the flute lessons fun and my daughter enjoys her weekly hour lesson. We let Sam know what our goals were and he has created a plan accordingly.

Sam can do both in-home and online lessons. The in-home lessons are great, no need to travel.

Overall Sam is a great teach and very affordable."
