I have been teaching the guitar 10 years. I'm building a strong foundation of techniques.I specialize in Blues, classical &typically use MelBay books and also have the following to use the Sheet music.
In addition,I emphasize how to read a good sight reading.

My lessons will start with the fundamentals and gradually focus on what you wish to accomplish. The guitar can be a difficult instrument to pick up, but my approach makes it simple.

I want students to excel the fastest they can on guitar. Though I know it is important to let students learn at their own pace, I will never cease to challenge them through difficult pieces or exercises. I will develop plans and keep track of progress so that students and I can stay organized and ensure the learning is fluent. I will direct lessons based on what the student wants to learn most and what genres of music they are interested in. I also change the structure of lessons based on how the student learns. The basics I want students to learn from my lessons are basic chords, fretboard knowledge and music theory, finger-picking styles, pick and strumming techniques, left-hand techniques, and most importantly I want to teach students how to listen. Students of Michael J. will be taught the tools to hit the ground running playing their guitar. Students will learn the basics of open and bar chords, strumming, electric or acoustic and how to apply basic theory the music they would like to play.

Michael J. has been the beginning guitar instructor at a private studio for the past year and a half and previously taught private in home students.

Students can expect to learn basic chords and beginner essentials so that they can start learning their favorite songs as quickly as possible.

Flamenco guitar lessons with Raphael are unique because he grew up, and studied in Spain. And knows all the secrets that you can only learn by living, and working with some of the best Flamenco artists of today. He can teach you how to accompany singing, and how to accompany dancers. As well as teaching full solo pieces. He has been playing guitar for over 25 years, and has toured the world. As well as playing in the opening ceremonies in Barcelona for the 1992 Olympics.
